Day 2!

jkrnho
WORTH IT$6,000
Day of surgery was fine, everyone at Perimeter Surgery Center was very kind and nurturing. The worst part of the day was the anticipation, but once they got started everything happened very quickly.
I threw up once on the way home, but I easily get car stick. The afternoon was okay. Nighttime was brutal. The pressure on my chest and tension in my back was barely addressed by the meds.
Day 2 was better in a lot of ways. The back tension is mostly gone, my chest is as ‘painful’ as is it tight and heavy. As long as I stay on top of the meds, I’m just uncomfortable. Sleeping on and off most of the day.
Still waiting for a BM because I look a few months pregnant lol.
Dr. Crispin was very kind and calm. He was very soothing and as I was being put under he held my hand which made a huge difference in my fear level.
Looking forward to sharing more with y’all! I obsessively read Real Self while preparing.

Day 3

jkrnho
Last night was so much better. I was able to sleep longer (so was my poor husband!). He woke me up twice for muscle relaxer and pain pills. This morning I was able to get out of bed myself, walk around, have coffee, etc. No meds needed so far. (Still taking antibiotics)
Either my new breasts are going to be huge or the swelling is pretty bad today! No pain per se and the intense pressure has diminished. I think the worst part so far is just sleeping at an angle in one position.
Still waiting on a BM. I’ve had coffee and more milk of magnesia. So far, day 3 has been good!

Day 4

jkrnho
Second day with no narcotics, just Tylenol and muscle relaxers. Tomorrow my dressing comes off so hopefully I won’t need any muscle relaxers after that. The dressing is tight! Getting in and out of bed is much easier, and I can do it unassisted.
Finally got around the to BM but it didn’t do much for the swelling/bloating in my stomach. I’m sure that will just take time.
Other than that I feel pretty good. I did have a moment of pity after not being able to open a bag a pretzels. I’m not good as feeling useless. Pain in minimal, mostly just pressure from the dressing. Tomorrow I go back for post op/dressing removal and get a shower! I’m super excited.
