One Month Postop Update

WORTH IT$7,476
I'm just around 1 month postop and wanted to give a little update. So far I'm extremely please with my results and recovery. My implants have dropped quite nicely so far and aesthetically, I think they look beautiful imo. I'm also very happy with the size - they look really proportional to my body and I'm incredibly happy! I look forward to them dropping and settling more, especially since my left side is still slightly higher than my right.

When I first saw my new implants, I was a bit concerned about the spacing between my breasts. However, as you can see in the comparison photo (3 days vs. 1 month), now that they've dropped more, the gap between them has narrowed and the spacing looks a lot more natural.

My breasts are still quite numb, and my right nipple is super sensitive, but most of the nerve pain is gone at this point which is a huge relief. I've also been back at the gym since 2.5 weeks postop doing very light/bodyweight lower body exercises and some low impact cardio, which has been great for my mental health.

I also included a couple photos of my incisions, which are healing really nicely. They don't look bad at all. I try to remember to massage the scars 1-2x a day and also apply silicone 1-2x a day.

Overall, I'm super happy with the way things are going at this point and looking forward to how things will go in the next few months!

Hi! Thanks for sharing. I’m 5 days PO and am so worried my new boobs looks ridiculous on me (should I have gone with a moderate profile, 330cc or smaller??). But your photos calm my anxiety that this whole process is truly going to be a rollercoaster.
ORIGINAL POST

37yo Mom of 2, 125 Lbs 5’5 (165 Cm), 365CC High Profile Silicone Implants (Submuscular)

I am 6 days post op (back at work today and feeling great!) and so far, I am really loving my results! I am patiently waiting for my implants to drop and fluff over the next few weeks/months. My implants are Natrelle Inspira Soft Touch, 365cc each side.

Why I decided on a BA:
I am a very fit and active person. My passion is lifting weights. After having two children who are now 6 and 3, my breasts have become completely deflated and flat, especially after losing all my pregnancy weight and becoming more fit again through gaining muscle and losing body fat. You can tell by my “before” photos how flat I was. I think I was a AA cup, if that. I was basically as flat as a wall (and I wasn’t even this flat before I had my kids). As a lifter, I am very much focused on aesthetics and developing my physique. I can grow my glutes, grow my delts, and develop as much of a v-taper as I put my mind into, but no amount of hard work at the gym can grow my breasts. So to become more proportionate (and more “aesthetic” if you will), I decided to get a BA.

Dr. Beber and his team:
One word – amazing. I consulted with a couple of other surgeons in Toronto, and Dr. Beber was the one who I felt the most comfortable with. During the consultation, he took the time to thoroughly explain everything to me (from sizing, implant placement, type of incision, various risks like BII, etc.). I just felt like I would be placed in good hands with him, and I wasn’t wrong. His team (Yien and Madison) has also been great in terms of communication, answering my questions, etc.

Sizing:
My BWD measured 12cm on each side. After communicating to Dr. Beber what I wanted, I was presented with various options that he thought made sense for my body – 310 cc moderate profile, 365cc full profile, 375cc moderate profile, etc. I have a fairly long chest (as in my boobs sit pretty low on my chest), so Dr. Beber said I could also go with an implant wider than my BWD if I wanted the upper part of my breast to start higher. However, I was worried about too much side boob so I ultimately decided on 365cc full profile, which is 12cm in diameter and matched up with my BWD measurements. We also went with under the muscle and under the breast incision.

Surgery and recovery:
Everything went smoothly on surgery day. The nurses were very nice, the anesthesiologist was also super kind. Dr. Beber asked me what music I wanted to listen to before they knocked me out. The team made sure I was super comfortable in the OR. The recovery process was also super smooth (I expected way worse). I only needed to take pain meds the night of my surgery after I got home and after that, the pain was very much manageable. All pain was completely gone by Day 4 post op (obviously I still had a lot of discomfort and tightness, but no more pain). Even Day 1 post op, I was able to do quite a lot of things on my own, like making myself a cup of coffee, helping my kids get their toys, etc. I was overall very pleasantly surprised by my ease of recovery. My husband took time off work the day after my surgery, because he thought he’d need to help me with everything, but I didn’t really need his help at all lol. By Day 5 post op, I was basically completely back to normal (only exceptions being going to the gym, and pushing a stroller and shopping cart).

Other considerations:
The only other major consideration I had prior to surgery was costochondritis, which is a condition I have. It’s basically pain from the inflammation of my chest cartilage. I don’t have this pain all the time, but when I do get a flare up, it can be very painful. I asked Dr. Beber and another surgeon if they knew anything about whether having breast implants would make my condition worse, and neither of them knew. I decided to go with the procedure anyway because my condition has been under control for awhile now and I was in a very good place pre-surgery. Now that I am almost 1 week post op, I am happy to report that my costo has not flared up at all so far!

Gym considerations:
Another consideration that I had was can I do chest exercises post-surgery. Dr. Beber did inform me about animation deformity and the risks of implants moving out from doing too much chest work. However, I haven’t been doing much chest work anyway because of my costochondritis condition, and I don’t think that’s going to change after getting breast implants. Heavy chest work has been debilitating for my costochondritis pain anyway, so I doubt I will be doing it over the long term.

Overall thoughts:
Like I said I am absolutely loving my results so far. I wish I could fast forward the next few weeks/months so I can see what my boobs will ultimately look like, but alas I must be patient. I am also really missing the gym but of course I will wait it out and take it easy until I can go back. I will try to remember to post a 1 month, 3 month and 6 month update with pictures.
