Continuing from my First Posts of Things to Have for Pre/post Op!
What to buy for post surgery
1. Back pillow, neck pillow. I sleep sightly angled but mostly upright. I find getting up and out of bed or leaning to get up off a couch the hardest part. The pain beside this is not that bad ! I am pleasantly surprised since I was very nervous and doubtful right before my procedure. So please do yourself a favor order some support pillows and a neck a pillow. The first night of sleeping I woke up slouched to fat down and if I didn’t have my boyfriend there to put his hands behind me and help me lift up (which was so painful) I prob would have been stuck in that position for hours. So I’m putting this as number on on the list.
2. Take your meds on time. Set alarms. I have my boyfriend to hand me them. But if you are alone at any point during recovery, i would suggest having your pills already set to go and organized in a pill dish organizer. Opening pill containers is hard to do after your surgery.
3. Straws. Buy yourself straws. Life saver.
4. Having meals prepped before hand. Not only hasn’t it taken stress off, but I can relax easier just knowing I can go to the fridge grab out a meal and its ready to go. Also love everything to lower shelves, easy to reach spots in the fridge.
5. Buy dry shampoo. And face wash cloths. I bought cetaphil face wash cloths. Has made mornings easier and I feel cleaner. I also bought some body wipes. Which I will have my boyfriend help wipe me down. Since I cannot shower for three days post op.
5. I set up in two areas, by My bed and couch plug extensions cords. So all my chargers (for my laptop, video games, phone) can reach me at ease. I also left a book on my night stand for easy access.
6. For supplements I bought vitamin c and arnica pills. This was suggested by my surgery. I was told they help with healing, bruising and swelling. I take these everyday. (I also took these pre surgery too, double check with your surgeon). I also have my multi vitamin. But again double check with your surgeon what you can take post op.
7. I purchased colace stool softener (but I have not had to use it, as the pain is not bad and I haven’t felt a need to take Percocets). I also purchase silicone scar gel strips for future use for my scars. And also arnica gel cream for future use if I have bruising.
8. I’m putting this last but it is definitely important. And I think most people will think of this anyways ... but Wear comfy clothes! Every top I have laid out for this recovery week is either a robe that opens in the front Or a zip up loose hoodie. Anything that I can put on without putting over my head. I’ve got comfy socks, loose sweat pants and comfy underwear. I feel I am experiencing a bit of swollen tummy which happens to some post surgery sooo having kk loose sweats has been helpful.
I hope this helps someone out there

Provider Review
I am on day three post op and this has gone better than I could have ever expected. I was super nervous the days prior, almost regretful, scared and doubtful about what I was about to do. But I just kept thinking about how long I’ve wanted this, how hard it is to get dressed and how I can’t wear specific clothes. I kept watching positive reviews to keep me in high spirits and just knowing that my board certified doctor was the best settled most of my nerves. Day of procedure went smoothly. I arrived 6:30 am with my boyfriend and my sister for support. The place itself at bellava spa Med aesthetics is comfortable, with a lounge, a tv, snacks and coffee for your guests you bring. My nerves quickly went away after the nurse who prepped me was funny and kind. And when dr. Kim came in to do some last measurements and mark me up, he was pleasant, confident calm and ready. I was even excited now. At 7:30 am When I got into the procedure room the anesthesiologist had some music going and asked me what I liked, he put on some led zeppelin which was awesome. Soon I was out like a light. I woke up next, dressed in my pajamas, in Recovery room with warm blankets and nurse bedside. She talked to me as I woke up until I came to full awareness. She also let my boyfriend and sister come in. I couldn’t stop smiling, i was a bit thirsty. They gave me water with. Straw. An anti nauseas pill, and I was feeling good. My chest was sore nothing crazy though. Felt like I had just bench pressed a couple hundred pounds. On the way home as the meds from the procedure fully wore off, I felt more sore. But not anything I couldn’t bare. Honestly my period pain is worst then this. The dips/ pot holes on the road hurt, so have your driver drive slow and avoid those as much as possible. The first thing I ate when I got home was soft pancakes and a ton of water. The best thing about bellava spa Med aesthetics is not only dr.kim. But also Erica. She answers and texts you right away. I had questions about some medicine. I sent her pics and she answered me with full detail fast. The second day I woke up to a text from dr.kim checking in on me. Which I thought was so kind and awesome. And honestly I was doing great. I can’t wait to see the bellava spa team at on my one week post op. I HIGHLY recommend them.
