Breast Aug. Journey

The night before my surgery is when I am starting this review. I am excited and nervous and actually eating and drinking as much as I can before the clock strikes 12 and I can’t eat again until 3 pm tomorrow. I am nervous and hoping all goes well!

Surgery Day

Today was the big day. Felt great right after surgery. Muscle pain didn’t begin until a few hours later. Ice was a life saver for me. I have been doing 15 mins on 15 off since I arrived home. Biggest challenge is getting comfortable. My mom has been around to help me which has been a huge help. From opening the toilet lid to getting me in and out of bed as well giving me food and my meds I think everyone really does need someone there the first 24 hours. I am having particular pain in the left breast. I did get 445 ccs under the muscle on both sides. Here’s pictures of what I have going on. I think they are just red because of the ice. I will be going in for my post op tomorrow and will take pictures of the incision sites at that time. Things I notice are that I am very thirsty and have been from when I came back into consciousness and that rather than shooting pain i have more of a pressure pain between the two breasts.

Middle of the night following surgery

Here are some pics of me at about 1 am in the morning post surgery. 3 movies later I could not sleep and my back is we aching from the trying to sleep semi upright. I ended up getting up on my own for the first time, using th bathroom and I walking around my room for at lleast 20 minute. I was nervous because I did not think I could get up on my own but I trusted what my body was telling me to do. I felt much better following that and re-arranged my pillows to be a bit more comfortable. My pain pills and ice have been life savers and thanks to them I drifted off to sleep not too much after I got back in bed. I had read that walking around helps and after this experience I am definitely a supporter of that.

Very well run. This guy covers all his bases in terms of being timely, having anti-nausea medication in the IV immediately after surgery, following up the day and week after and being available at all times for questions or concerns.
