I have always been skinny and never grew height-wise or breast-wise! I am 5ft and less than 100lbs. I considered breast augmentation from my teenage years and gathered lots of information about it. However, my fear was the operation and it also took me a long time to have enough money and the right circumstances to go ahead with it. I was 34aa, maybe even aaa and spent a fortune on padded bras but still felt self conscious. I avoided relationships for years because I felt embarrassed about my flat chest, although the few guys I did date were usually very kind and never mentioned it.
Eventually, I booked an introductory session with Transform to get more information. I wasn't too impressed with the patient co-ordinator but when I met the surgeon, I trusted his expertise. He recommended round, high profile, silicone gel 255cc or 285cc implants under the muscle as I had minimal breast tissue. However, there were no small sizers available so he suggested I make up sizers using rice in a bag. I decided on the 255ccs as I wanted a more natural size that would be in proportion to my body type and life style.

Consultant and nurses were professional, friendly and attentive. However Transform patient adviser was not so impressive and suggested I go to the Stirling hospital, even though I’d met her in the Glasgow office! I felt completely in safe hands at the Glasgow hospital and aftercare has been reassuring. Although my personal healing process has been long, I should have done this sooner!

18 weeks PO, still firm but fluffing. Scars are great!

Getting abit softer but still firmer than I'd expected by this stage. Still abit numb under nipple area. Scars have always been flat, neat and apart from a Mondor's cord on the right, I have been happy with them. I continue to use Bio-oil, Avene Cicalfate Restorative skin cream and Prosil silicone therapy on them. I sill get a funny sensation when I push down hard using my arms. I guess it's my muscles pressing on the implants. Apart from walking, I need to do more exercise! I need to ask my PS for before photos. I was completely flat chested, 34aa, now a full b cup.

How often do you use your scar therapy creams/lotions/oils? Your scars looks pretty good! I almost did an areola approach bc I read that Asian scars are more noticeable.

On reflection

At this time of year I get reflective, but more so in 2017 after having my BA.
The days leading up to the surgery seemed to drag but then the actual day seemed to go by quickly. Most of he staff were lovely and due to the general anaesthetic, I felt really good in the hours after my BA. So good in fact that I might have overdone things and suffered on Days 2-3 when I was at home alone! I was able to get out of bed myself, go to the toilet and flush, tie my hair up etc a few hours after surgery. I was sick twice due to the drugs and it was more discomfort rather than pain that I felt.
Day 2, my brother collected me and drove me home very fast. It was a sore journey and I felt exhausted. I remember I was out walking on Day 3 and the pressure on my chest made the usual 15 minute walk seem long and laborious. Day 4, I went to the hairdresser's to freshen up. The nurse had advised me to book this beforehand to motivate me to get back to normality ASAP.
Very tricky trying to sleep as I was propped up on my sofa and I couldn't lie on my sides. I'm not sure how I managed 4weeks on the sofa! I had morning boobs for about 6 weeks where it was extremely difficult to get up from the bed, and my chest felt tight, stiff and heavy for about the first hour.
Day 7, the nurse removed the dressings, snipped the ends of the stitches and replaced the steri strips on the scars - that was painful but the Reward was that I saw myself in a full length mirror for the first time. I looked good though swollen & bloated but with minimal bruising (thanks to the arnica pills).
I returned to work after 10 days and realised how even the basic tasks of stamping documents and walking to the printer became a monumental challenge! My colleagues never noticed as the new additions are not noticeable in my loose tops. I used to wear highly padded bras anyway so there doesn't appear to be much difference. However, in my bralettes, boy there's so much fullness and projection!
Week 3 - I went on a short break but it was so tiring and I got moody, frustrated and grumpy. Boobie Blues is real! Sometimes I just sit and think, "what have I done?" Thankfully, those days are mostly gone and it's only when I get twinges in my chest, burning or 'ripping' sensations or tiredness that I really dwell on it. The area underneath my nipples lack sensation. Some days my nipples are so sensitive...ouch! I start looking at bras all the time and can't help buying some. As things are going o change over the next few weeks, that was not advisable but I couldn't resist... I went through some days when I got chest acne and a rash from my clothing and toiletries. Antihistamines helped!
Week 6 - PS was pleased with how everything was. My left boob is slightly higher but all swelling & bloating have gone. Scars look flat and neat, just abit red. My photos were taken and compared with my 'before'. I was shocked to see how different I looked. Shocked in a positive way! How did I cope with being so flat beforehand? It really affected my confidence. Although I have days when I think I went too big, I was really flat before so the upgrades take getting used to. I use Bio Oil all over and also Avene cream and PROSIL silicone on my scars. Not sure if they help, but it hasn't done an harm.
NOW - things are going well. I sometimes don't even remember that I had implants except for the scars and clothes fit better and I can feel the implant edges. There's more sensation all over. I can do most things but get a weird feeling sometimes when I push down hard. I haven't done yoga for ages but plan to go back next year

Hi there- thanks for your review.. what size do you measure now? You look bigger than a B (to me). Have you recovered full sensation of your nipples? And it’s wonderful you’ve set the intention to step back onto your mat Here’s to a wonderful new year!

Hi, thank you for your questions. I'm still fitting into a B although my boobs are getting softer, they haven't dropped/fluffed much. The left one is taking a longer time and is still higher & feels tighter than the right. May end up as a full B or small C. My nipples have full sensation, sometimes abit tender, and the lower boob area under the nipples are slowly recovering sensation. I'm not to bothered though. it should return in the majority of cases...things seem to take longer for me! How are you? Have a happy new year when it comes :-)
