Recovery has been much easier than I imagined, thank goodness. I almost feel “too good” because I’m definitely not complying with the doctor’s orders. I’m not supposed to lift anything over 10lbs, vacuum, wash dishes, etc for two weeks. As a busy stay at home mom to a 15 month old baby, all those rules went out the window! I really hope I’m not compromising the final look of my breasts but I am trying to only break the rules if it’s absolutely necessary.
I’ve been off the pain meds since POD3. I’m definitely surprised at how little pain I’ve been in especially considering how large my implants are (535cc in both). I noticed yesterday evening and today that I’m experiencing a little bit more discomfort around my incisions. I think the increased sensitivity either is caused by the implants finally starting to drop and fill out more on the bottom or me doing too much when it comes to lifting and housework. I’ve been taking extra strength Tylenol and have tried to chill out more today.
I’m extremely pleased with how my breasts are looking lately. I’m concerned about the swelling going down and missing the full volume I’m seeing now. They’re starting to drop and naturally my left is dropping quicker than my right because I’m right handed. I’ve experienced a few harsh muscle spasms in my left breast especially which I’ve assumed is associated with the dropping implants.
For now, that’s all I can think of when it comes to these past couple of days of changes.

I don’t know how you do it with a 15 month old! Mine are old enough to understand that mommy can’t pick them up or rough House with them, but it must be much harder for you.

In hindsight, I maybe should’ve waited until she was a bit older but I really needed this recent confidence boost! I tend to her as if I didn’t have anything done so long as what I’m doing doesn’t cause me pain. My husband’s great about handling her 100% when he gets home from work so most days I can get away with lots of cuddle time leading up to Daddy’s return. During my consultation with Dr. Hedden, told me he used to tell patients to wait to pick up their children but his own wife picked up their son the day after surgery and had great results. Dr. Hedden said he then realized most moms probably are more active with their kids than instructed by their surgeons.

I think I was around this time, maybe a little later, when I noticed my incisions getting sore. Especially when I reached for something high. After a few days I realized it wasn't necessarily my incisions, but the mondors cords coming down from my incisions. They went all the way from my crease to the bottom of my ribcage >_< but take a look in the mirror, if you see a "cord" or feel it around that area I bet that's what's going on. More annoying/sore than painful

Your cords were huge, ouch! I definitely realized that I have those pesky Mondors Cords the other night. I also realized I have an aggravated lymph node in my armpit which has been tender and annoying. I originally thought it was maybe a clogged pore do to my arms being plastered to my sides most of the day not letting in much airflow. I read that aggravated lymph nodes are pretty common with any type of surgery so I’m not worried about it. The discomfort is nothing I can’t handle and I am still so happy with my new girls!

They're so annoying lol but I agree, nothing you can't handle ;) but idk about you, but I'll take the annoying mondors cords and swollen lyhmph nodes over a painful recovery! Lol

Yes ma’am! I’ve read some girls talk of rough recoveries and I’m so grateful mine’s been easy peasy! This whole experience has really made me (and my family) realize how important my role is to keep this household functioning.

Days 1 and 2 weren’t bad, lots of swelling and stiffness but no pain. I felt good enough to go grocery shopping although I didn’t drive, push the shopping cart nor lift anything. I was prescribed a pain pill and a muscle relaxer and they made me very drowsy and sometimes disoriented when I woke up. I made time to ice a few times throughout the day which felt wonderful.
Today is 3 days post op and I have stopped taking the pain medicine and muscle relaxer. I’m still stiff and very swollen so my ice packs have been very useful. I have a one year old and I have picked her up a few times which I try not to do because I can feel the muscles stretching. Today I loaded the dishwasher and have been more active since before surgery. I definitely am noticing more strange sharp pains and popping in there so I’m going to try to take it easier tomorrow.
My boobs are still swollen and high but in my opinion look pretty good considering I’m only 3 days post op. I’m anxious to see them drop and fluff. Currently they’re really stiff and I notice more swelling around my collar bone when I become more active throughout the day. Dr. Hedden said to keep icing the tops and sides to prevent bleeding. He also said to make sure my sports bra offers plenty of support on the sides.
The bloating unreal and still no bowel movement since before surgery. I took a dulcolax this evening and have been taking a stool softener 2-3x a day post surgery so I can only hope for he best.
Nothing much has changed since surgery except that I’m more active. I’ll keep posting pictures so we can hopefully see some differences soon!

Day of treatment

I DID IT!!

Today I had my surgery and I’m so happy to say it’s over!! I’ve never had surgery or been under anesthesia before today so the bad thoughts really started to hit me over the past few days. I’m so happy to report surgery was so much more pleasant than I anticipated!!
I had to be at the surgery center at 6:15 this morning. For any of y’all who are seeing Dr. Hedden or are familiar with hwy 280, you know how crazy traffic can be in that part of town! We left an hour early and arrived at 5:50am. The front desk girl opened the door to let us in around 6:15am.
I was the first to sign in and two women signed in behind me. I read on here that whoever finishes their paperwork first typically gets called back first. I’m not sure if that’s true but I made sure to be first because I had my baby in the waiting room and wanted the least possible wait time for her sake. I signed about 10 sheets of paper returned it to front desk girl and she said I’d be called back in a short while.
Not even 10 minutes later, I was called to the back by a nurse. The nurse asked my height and weighed me. She instructed me to produce a urine sample in the bathroom. I was led to a small exam room where I stripped down to my underwear, socks and put on a robe. The nurse came back to take before pictures and confirm my desired implant size. The nurse told me to have a seat and Dr. Hedden would be with me shortly.
Dr. Hedden and a different nurse stepped in the exam room less than 10 minutes later. Dr. Hedden drew on my chest, examined me again and we discussed my desired implant size. I was informed the silicone implants they have in stock differ by 50cc. Originally I planned on putting 500cc in the left and 485cc in the right (lefty’s slightly smaller than the right). Dr. Hedden gave me the option of putting 535cc in the left and 485cc in the right (I thought that was too big of a difference) OR 500cc in both. After examining the implant diameter he commented that my breast diameter matches the 535cc implants perfectly and assured me it would compliment my frame well. So I went with 535cc in both! I really appreciate the time he took to go over various sizes with me and giving his professional opinion without being pushy. I’ve worried about boob greed so I’m really happy I jumped up to 535cc!
Dr. Hedden left with his nurse and the anesthesiologist came in shortly after. He introduced himself and I commented on how much of a nervous wreck I was. He was so kind and assured me that everything would be okay. He had me lay down and inserted a numbing solution to make the insertion of the IV port more comfortable. Soon after he got my IV set up, he injected a solution into the port for anxiety, I think. He walked me to the operating room and did a great job calming my nerves by distracting me with conversation. He laid me on the padded operating table, covered me with a warm blanket and had me inhale from a facial mask...I hardly remember that part, I was out quick!
Next thing I remember is trying to get out of bed in the recovery room. I was ready to go and confused as to why the nurse was stopping me (I was still just in my underwear and socks lol). She explained that I need to allow more time for the anesthesia to wear off. I let her know I was experiencing discomfort and she added some pain meds to my IV right then. I peeked at my new additions and must have passed back out because next thing I knew, my pants were on and the nurse was helping me into my sports bra. She gave me some Gatorade in a styrofoam cup and wheeled me out to my mom and baby. I was a little drowsy on the way home but not in pain. My chest felt really tight and heavy but the bumps in the road didn’t phase me a bit.
My mom dropped me off at home and ran to the store to get my prescriptions and some more Gatorade. I’ve been taking my pain meds as instructed and have only experienced a lot of tightness and stiffness. Obviously my breasts are REALLY swollen so I’ve been icing them and girl, does it feel good! I have a million pillows propping me upright and my heating pad has been a lifesaver on my upper back. Today, I’ve been napping on and off, playing with my baby (no lifting) and walking around some. So far, I’m surprised at how good I feel and I’m loving my new boobs!!
I have a follow up appointment with Dr. Hedden tomorrow at 8:30am then I’m headed back to my house about 2 hours north of his office. I hear the day after surgery can be a little more uncomfortable. There’s some construction along the way for I’m hoping for a smooth ride home!
Sorry for the novella lol and thank you to everyone for all the well wishes!!

So excited for you-I’m glad it went well!! They look amazing. I hope day two isn’t too bad for you (it was tougher than day one for me but still not too bad!). Just keep on top of the pain medication time window so that it doesn’t fade and you need to wait for a new one to kick in, and eat what you can so you don’t get nauseous (bananas and saltines held off the nausea for me and were easy to get down). Driving felt not so great afterwards (turns and bumps-it was like I could feel like moving around inside) so maybe just have some pillows ready in the front seat for support on the side if that happens to you. Good luck!! Xx

Thank you! Day two wasn’t bad but I also didn’t have to travel too far post surgery like you did, I’m sure I’d be hurting after a long flight and lugging my bags around!

Thank you! My mom and husband think I’ve been pushing it lately so I’m declaring tomorrow a lazy day! I just can’t help but jump in when something’s not being “done my way.” I know I need to get over it, everyone’s been very helpful around the house.

The second day was a lot better gab expected. I only had a 2 hour drive home and was laid up most of the day due to my meds making me so sleepy. I’ve been more active here pat couple of days and think I’ll chill out tomorrow
