I meant to start this review a couple weeks ago after my first BA consult. Better late than never.
After breastfeeding my daughter for almost 2 years, & just generally getting busy/letting myself go the following 5-6 years.. My poor girls were looking pretty worn out.
I scheduled consults with two of the top rated surgeons in Vegas. The 1st PS was cool & much cheaper than the 2nd. But, his office seemed almost like an assembly line.. every procedure was the same. He seemed to be strongly against saline, which is what I went in there wanting. He took a quick look at my breasts, didn’t measure them, then stated I needed a 480cc & 520cc moderate profile gummy bear implant, under the muscle. Being that this was my first consult & all my friends were about the “gummy bears” too, I thought this was normal. I mean, he was a top rated PS in my area, why should I doubt him? Plus, he said he could totally get me that “fake look” I wanted. So, I put a deposit for my procedure figuring I would get the same info from the 2nd PS and that I would just go with this guy, because he was cheaper.
I could not have been more wrong!!
I met Dr. Pancholi at my 2nd consult & I was introduced to how a true professional operates! His office is beautiful, the staff was friendly, but most importantly Dr. Pancholi LISTENS to what you want and is HONEST about your options!! He is thorough & detailed. He explains where there are issues with your expectations, & why. He also lets you know the best options available to you.
Stay tuned for more info on how differently my consult with him went..

My consult with Dr. Pancholi

Mommapook
I originally considered canceling my consult with Dr. Pancholi after I scheduled my procedure with the 1st PS I spoke with, but my best friend spoke really highly of him. So, I figured I would go to appease her, if nothing else. Thank God I Did!!!

I showed him photos of the “look” I wanted (attached photos) and he immediately explained the differences between the girls I was showing him, and my own body. He pointed out that I have a lot more breast tissue than most women who seek a BA, my rib cage is not flat, it bows out, and that I have a concave sternum; all things I knew about and the 1st PS didn’t mention at all. He also brought up that I am low breasted. The issues with all the photos I had shown him were the girls all had flat rib cages, started with very little breast tissue, and were mid/high breasted. Therefore, giving me unrealistic expectations. So he gave me things to look for when searching for new examples of what I was hoping for, but explained I should not have any expectations.

Next, he measured me & went over how he could get me close to the look I wanted. I borderline needed a lift, but could get away without one for a couple of years. In order to do this, I would need to go with a larger implant size. Completely OK with me. He gave me two sizes to try on, and the larger was spot on for the size/shape I was going for!

Now that this was decided he went over all the different implant types, their pros & cons, what he thought would be best to get me the look I wanted, and why.
High profile saline implants, OVER the muscle.

At this point I was blown away because it was the polar opposite of my 1st consult. I was happy that we were back to saline, but also confused why so different of an opinion. So, he explained..
The biggest reason of why over, not under.. Lift.
Going under the muscle, without getting a lift, would have a high probability of giving me the snoopy boob, or double bubble, outcome. Trust me, they’re just as terrifying as they sound!

Second reason why over, not under.. Look.
I wanted that super round, fake, look. Going under the muscle results in a more natural, teardrop look. Definitely not the amazing cleavage look I was so hoping for.

Why saline, instead of silicone.. Projection.
Silicone implants are softer, and more malleable, than their saline counterparts. They give a more natural look, and feel. Even when placed over the muscle, silicone does not hold its round shape the way saline does. Saline would be the best at filling in all the empty space I now had in the cleavage department, and holding it there. Since I have a lot of breast tissue, rippling is not even an issue.

I was SOLD!

Dr. Pancholi not only addressed all my concerns, he gave me his honest opinion and was not afraid to tell me something I didn’t want to hear.
He truly cared and wanted to make sure I understood every facet of the process.

Naturally, I booked my procedure with him and cancelled the one I had booked at my 1st consult.

Surgery Day!!!

Mommapook
Originally my surgery was scheduled for early afternoon, December 20th. The day before, I got a call that my surgery time needed to be bumped up and I now needed to be there at 6am!! I was Terrified!! But, let me tell you, if you can get in as the first appointment.. Do It!!
You wake up, shower real quick, throw on some comfy clothes, and head on over. By the time you’re actually waking up, they’re knocking you out, and when you officially wake up it’s all over!

Apparently anesthesia makes me shiver uncontrollably and I ended up biting my lip pretty badly. The first 12 hours after surgery were great! I wasn’t really in any type of pain, no nausea, nothing.. I slept for a couple hours, but was up pretty much the whole day and operating as normal (besides not lifting anything).

Right around 6pm is when it felt like a freight train hit me. I had a severe migraine accompanied by extreme nausea. Nothing helped. Finally exhaustion kicked in and I was out like a light..

Note: Always fall asleep with bags of frozen peas on your chest. You’ll thank yourself in the morning!
