The other side

My surgery was 9/19/2017! I love 2 hours from my plastic surgeons office so we left our house at 0800 to make my 10:00 arrival time. The drive flew by and I was so excited! We arrived at 0945 and I filled out anesthesia paperwork, implant warranty information as well as a few other loose ends for my surgeon. My payment was made in full a few weeks prior, so all that was left was to purchase two of his surgical bras for $30.

There were two families waiting in the waiting room with us. My husband and I sat quietly and observed and both families were relaxed for the most part! My surgery time was scheduled for 1100. Upon arrival we were told he was running on time. My husband is a general surgeon so I know this can change in a moment. Things like running behind and unforeseen issues do not phase me! At 1045, the receptionist, whom is very sweet and great at her job, let us know due to scheduling error, they were behind. No big deal other than I was thirsty!

We were called into a room at 1140 (approximately) and shortly after his nurse came in to go over a few things and start my IV and fluids. Dr. Jones came in shortly behind her and went over the surgery, details, questions and marked me up. I was very calm and wasn't phased. I now see this as I was very nervous however I wouldn't accept that. I'm a control freak so that was my way of ignoring my fears! The anesthesiologist came in next, went over my health history and we went back to the AMAZING surgical suite to begin.

I am still unusually calm at this point even while I'm laying down, arms out being stepped down, heat blowing on my legs (nice touch) and the anesthesiologist explains my cocktail is coming soon and not to panic. That is the last normal and memorable moment of the day!

Apparently I woke up loud, emotional and hurting but wouldn't let anyone help or touch me! I am mortified!!! I knew I would be "THAT patient" and here it was confirmed. I know I couldn't help it and it was the effect of the drugs, I'm still embarrassed. They are so polite and wouldn't tell me the bad parts (I am sure there were bad words) but I did get it out of Dr. Jones that he could hear me in the consultation room which is connected to the surgical suite that is HUGE! My husband and I are healthcare worker and he is provider, and let me tell you that Dr. Jones surgical area, surgical suites (OR) and recovery are not only beautiful but just as equipped as a hospital. I am blown away by his detail in every aspect of his practice.

Dr. Jones warned my husband and I of m tight tissue and stretching would take longer than I expected. My muscles were very tight as well. He told my husband that they changed my surgical position to trendelenburg (picture head down feet up) due to my right muscle being so tight he needed better sight to place and position implant. Again, a detail I fear many of his colleagues would ignore and just force and leave as is. I remember being in pain and that's about it! We made our drive home and I rested most of the way and the remainder of the day. That night I needed pain meds more frequently as the intra and post op meds clearly had worn off.

The ride to the day 1 post op was miserable! I hurt, simply put, and we live 2 hours away. If my husband wasn't a surgeon, we would have stayed within 30 mins as it is Jones policy. I wish now I would have anyway due to pain management! I was red all over and so hot! Once we made it home I went to bed and stayed close until I could finally shower the next day at 12!

The 3rd day post op I took pain meds before I showered and then once more that day and I used naproxen from that point on. I believe with icing, naproxen helped me as I was so swollen and tight!

I am 100% happy and so thankful for Dr. Jones and his team. I will update more as I am now 4 weeks post op!

455cc Mentor UHP in 11 days!!

I've wanted a BA since I turned 18. I'm now 33, 2 children, 5'5 and 110lbs. I wear a 30-32b right now. I have no complaints other than volume. The boob fairy never came to visit, not even during breastfeeding or pregnancy!!!

I have Graves' disease and Had my thyroid removed (thyroidectomy) one year ago. Prior to the removal, keeping any fat on me was impossible and I was tuned down by every plastic surgeon I met due to size as well as heart rate regulation. Now I am healthier and happier, I consulted a few surgeons I had before. I immediately knew they weren't the fit. I narrowed down to 2 board certified plastic surgeons.

The first was great. His style fit my goals and all went well. He measured me at 12.5bwd and suggested 365 high profile natrelle. I want bigger and felt rushed. I had a consult already scheduled and deposit paid for my second surgeon, the one I knew in my gut I wanted to choose, and the visit was amazing. All of the girls were professional, honest and he was a perfect fit for my goals and concerned with everything I am, as well as stating his professional opinion and outcome.

He measured me at 11.4! Isn't it funny ow the art of the surgeon varies as well as measurements! Anyways, I wanted 480cc UHP but he feels 455cc is a better fit with less risk of complications including sagging, lateral pocket issues, and chance of rippling since I'm so small with fibrous breast tissue and little to no fat tissue there! I desire to be at least a DD, and actually talked about implant exchange to go bigger after this!!

So here I am, counting down the days until I'm no longer the president of the IBTC!! Please feel free to leave your experienced info and let me know what I MUST have, what you liked (bras, creams, stretch mark prevention) and if you have similar stats, let me know what size you ended up with! I cannot wait!

I'm Not sure I want to post pictures but if you want result pics, I can private message!
