I am 35 years old, a mother to an almost 4 yo boy and a 2 year old girl. I was always happy with my breasts, which were a full B, small C before kids. My boobs became a DD/DDD when I was breastfeeding and pumping. After a total 36 months of pumping out milk, they are now a lifeless deflated B. No upper pole fullness and just sad looking. I have been looking into breast augmentation since Oct 2017, saw 4 PS, and have just now decided to go with a local doctor. Preop appt is next Thursday. Surgery date is 4/12. Tentatively I will be getting 455 UHP Silicone implants. My PS think they will look good on me and not too big because my breast tissue has been expanded from pregnancies and breastfeeding. I am however scare of going too big, or looking too fake. I like pretty perky breasts that are proportional to my body. I don’t see a lot of reviews with UHP implants on here. I will really appreciate any feedback of you have UHP implants. Why you chose them? What your stats are? Any complications thus far? Are they semi natural looking?

Implant type: Silicone. Mentor Memory Gel (what the doctor’s office prefers) but they can also get Allergan brand if I want.
Size: Either 350 HP or 455 UHP. My doctor wants to keep the width of implants within 11-11.5 cm. My BWD is 13. The extra space is to ensure enough tissue coverage over implants. I think this is his unique approach? What is your opinion?
I can’t seem to make up my mind. I don’t want to go too big and look ridiculous or top heavy, but I also don’t want to have any regrets about them being too small! My PS refuses to choose for patients. I was hoping to get his input but I only saw the nurse, who was really nice, but I felt like she was rushing just a tad bit. I tried on the sizers 350 HP and 400 UHP, which as you can see don’t look that much different. She said if I like how the 400 looks then she would order 455 since going under the muscle will lose 15-20%.
I am leaning towards 455 UHP but also considering Allergan Natrelle 400 HP which has a width of 11.9. Ugh so hard to decide. I wish I could just wake up with beautiful perky boobs of the right size withou doing anything!

They will look a little smaller once they are placed under the muscle. I stressed about size as well and even though I had read that they would look smaller under the muscle my brain just didn’t believe it. Lol! At my last appt before my surgery I decided I liked the way 475 looked, so that was my choice, however I should’ve went up in size because they look so much smaller now that they are actually in me. All of my clothes still fit the same so far and none of my family has even noticed I had a BA. I’ll be 3 weeks post op on Wednesday, so I suppose maybe over time my clothes may not fit the same, but I highly doubt that will be an issue.

I looked at your profile multiple times and your breasts look big! I mean they look good on you. I think it’s great that all your clothes still fit because who would want to throw away more money just to buy new clothes after a BA? I would love to have bigger boobs without anyone noticing, except for the hubby of course! lol Do you know what your BWD is? I’m sure they will drop and fluff and feel bigger in time. I was a DD/DDD when I was breastfeeding so I know what having big boobs feel like so I don’t think I’ll have much boob greed. I just want to be fuller, perkier and proportionate.
March 22, 2018
Thanks! Going into this I said I didn’t want anyone to notice, but then when nobody noticed I questioned if I went big enough. Lol! Really as long as I’m a D or DD I’ll be happy. I am happy that all of my clothes still fit :) My BWD is 13.

It is tough on size haha

Yes and the office is not being helpful at all. I know Dr P doesn’t want to choose a size for you because of liability. He probably doesn’t want girls to come back and blame him for their breasts being too big or too small. But I posted a question on here and all doctors said he should be picking the final size/profile based on my desired result. Why? Because he is the one with experience and the expertise! I didn’t even get to see hm at preop. I will be writing them an email tomorrow. lol. Not sure if that’s a good thing 3 weeks before I go on the table lol. But I feel like I have to speak my mind!

I Strongly agree with how everyone says once you put the implants under the muscle you lose some of the size.
March 22, 2018
I do think it’s interesting that your PS wants to go with 11-11.5 when your BWD is 13. Are your breasts really close together?
March 22, 2018
Yes I heard that going under the muscle will make them look about 15-20% smaller. I liked the 350 and that’s why I want to do 400. However, I’m not sure of which profile to go with. The nurse said he wants to have about 1cm on each side to cushion the implants. And yes my breasts are close together. I’m posting pre op pics right now. Let me know which profile would give me my desired result. I’m taking a poll. haha

That's smart of you! I wish I had done the same! How did it go? So sorry for my late response!!
March 25, 2018
I think you'd be happy with a size close to what you have tried for sizers. It looks perfectly propertional to your frame

I had 350 HP mentors under muscle in Jan 18 so just at the 12 week mark now. I was completely flat and empty after breast feeding and wearing a heavily padded 32C pre op. I went to 2 specialist bra fitters on saturday and to my surprise I am a 32 E underwire and a 34D sports bra. Quite happy with my size now they are softening and only close friends and family are aware (with the exception of my gym buddies where it is blantently obvious as I never wore a padded sports bra).

Congratulations on your new addition! :). What are you stats? I see that you haven’t posted a review. I’d love to see before and after pics. If you are 32E and only went with 350HP, I don’t know what I’ll end up with. I can’t wait to be 12 weeks post like you...leaving all the pain, discomfort and frankenboobs behind! lol. I am going with 455HP because my doctor thinks the HP is a little wide for my cleavage and thin tissue. We will see. Wish me luck!

Hi, it’s Dr Otto Placik in Illinois. Are you still researching or ready to take the plunge?
May 22, 2018
I am but I have complicated Medical issue, I had a kidney transplant. I recently lost 20 plus pounds; lost all m Breast tissue. It’s so hard when they told oh that this is optional and medically it necessary. People kept putting me in to this hilly but they don’t know how it felt to be a half woman . I need to go to m ucla transplant and get a medical clearance which I am not sure hey will give it to me . I’ll cross my fingers and will sled for it anyway. I’ll keep ou updated . Thanks for the information. You look amazing .

How long ago was your transplant? If you are stable and currently have no complications, I don’t think an experienced plastic surgeon would have a problem performing a BA. It’s a relatively straight forward procedure especially for first augmentation. I think you need to find a surgeon who is willing to work with you and maybe who had experience with transplant patients. I whole heartedly agree that just because you have a medical history, it doesn’t mean you should be discouraged from having any cosmetic procedures! It’s all about quality of life in the end. Just know that you might be at increased risks for certain complications because of your medical conditions and current medications. If this is what you truly want then I say go for it. Do your research and find a good surgeon who will empathize and work with you. Good luck! Xoxo

April, thank you for the support. I do actually wanting it and has visited 3 plastic surgeon in la area, and they all want a clearance from the transplant team. I did my research and it says that solid organ transplant patient especially kidney is among the easiest compare to others. From reject stand point, I am already taking anti rejection meds. It’s the wound healing going to take longer .
I Am still looking to one PS# who will be able to irk with me.
Thank you again for the support .

I can see why they all want medical clearance from a liability standpoint! Is the transplant team willing to do that. If so, it’d be easier to get that first than to find a doctor who will do it without one. Please do a review so I can follow your journey, which will be very rewarding in the end because you have to go through so much to get what you want! Good luck and let me know if you have any further questions.

As you can see, I have moderate breast tissue and my breasts are pretty close together. My PS recommended implant width from 11-11.5 even though my BWD is 13, to avoid symmastia and also to have enough tissue to cover the implants. I wasn’t sure of his reasoning until the nurse explained it later on. Most doctors on here recommend going with in 1cm of the BWD, so I guess my PS has his own way of doing things. I just have to trust him.

OK, so your working with similar anatomy to mine with the close together cleavage. My implant width is 12.9 even though I’m 14.1 and 14.9 BWD for the same reason as your PS/nurse explained.
March 22, 2018
hahaha no worries, I feel like I can’t spell most of the time now without autocorrect or google prediction! And I also hate the fact that we can’t edit our writing once it’s posted. But yes, I was going to say we do have similar anatomy. Is your cleavage space where you want it to be?
March 22, 2018
So far my cleavage space is tracking to be where I want it. I was really concerned about having a “butt cleavage” line with no space. I don’t want to always look like I’m wearing a mega push up bra. I do think my upper pole is going to be more modest than I expected, but I might wind up being okay with that. If you want more a more pronounced upper pole then it might be good to consider the UHP over HP.
March 22, 2018
Butt cleavage! Now I can’t get that out of my head! I think you your upper pole looks perfect now. Do you like them the way they are right now or do you wish them to drop more. I love perky boobs rather than large boobs, but at the same time I don’t want 2 balls on my chest. My PS thinks my ideal pic is HP, another doctor on here thinks I should go with UHP if I want result like that. What do you think? This is so agonizing, especially for me since I can b indecisive at times. :/
March 22, 2018
I don’t want mine to drop any more or lose any of the current upper pole. You should look through photos until you find a side profile showing the amount of projection you feel is ideal. My PS wanted to see a front and a side view of my wish boobs so that he could gauge which profile to use.

April 1, 2018
You're going to have the perfect cleavage hahaha
April 1, 2018
hahah I really hope so. I told him that I want to maintain my current cleavage and he said I should definitely go with UHP. He said going with HP will actually make them touch!

April 1, 2018
Yes lol! I just posted an update. They prob don’t like me as much. Oh wells, I pay for this so I just want to make sure we are all on the same page. I read their response to your concern and it sounds very similar to how they responded to me. When is your next follow up? Have you seen Dr P at all?

April 1, 2018
yeah, I wasn’t sure how I felt about their response. I haven’t seen him at all, I’ll have to go back in a couple months just for him to take “after” photos.
April 1, 2018
hm...How many postops have you had? I thought the 3rd one is with him? If you want to see him to ease your mind, don’t hesitate to ask! He will make time for you. I’m sure Laura can squeeze you in.

April 1, 2018
oh I’m sure! I’ve already seen him once before I left town, but since I live far away I don’t really feel like making the long trip out for a visit lol. I’m going to wait until my 6-8mon mark to go back.
