I had my 1st consultation in March 2018. It was HORRIBLE. I was told, very bluntly "I can see why you are unhappy, you won't get good results, you need a lift due to severe Cookers Droop and you have tuberous breasts, which is a deformity"
OUCH.
I'm not soft, but this hurt. I backed away from the whole idea, feeling worse about my breasts than I ever had before. In the last month or so, my partner has come into some cash, and offered to cover the surgery as a 40th Birthday gift, if I wanted to revisit the idea. So today, I had my 2nd consultation.
NOTHING COULD HAVE BEEN MORE DIFFERENT!
My surgeon Deom Weyers was warm and friendly, he said no lift was required (he measured dimensions and he said that even according the the numbers, I wasn't droopey) I could get a good effect with augmentation only, but would need to do a little work to loosen my right lower fold. There was no mention of "Deformities" at all!
I am just waiting for my quote and am currently very keen to go ahead asap.
I'm posting this so that others might go and try a 2nd opinion. I don't have serious body image issues, just want a better rack! But I can only imagine how badly effected someone else could be after my initial experience...
I will keep you updated here if you want to follow my journey.....

I just got a very reasonable quote that is $1500 lower than original due to lace of lift needed, and am trying to confirm a date as I type. I can't believe how different this experience is than it was in March! I urge EVERYONE hete to go for a 2nd opinion before opting out/proceeding :)

You are going to look great. I see maybe a little constriction at the bottom, but mine were way worse. I'm 2 weeks post op and my boobs look great. Glad you got a second opinion! My starting place was terrible and I love my results. Good luck!

When I saw your photo it was like looking in the mirror. I have been self conscious about my breasts since I was 16 (20 years), and have been trolling this site for awhile now. I am ready to pull the trigger on implants in the next year. I didn't even discover what s good bra could do until about 6 years ago, just because most bras never fit me correctly. One cup was always bigger, so I gave up and wore sports bras until they started making cuter bralette. To this day I will not where horizontal stripes (although luckily they aren't in style like they were in high school). That made my issue even more obvious! Lol. I've been teased, even by boyfriends. I absolutely hate them. Even while pregnant and breastfeeding, my left boob would get big and tight while the right stayed the same. Anyway, I am fascinated to see your journey. Please continue to post everything that you go through! It will help me out a lot too. I'm also curious about the exercises you are doing to loosen your pocket, as I've worried (even without a doc saying anything yet as I haven't had a consult yet) about my right breasts tiny amount of breast tissue. Thank you so much for sharing!!

Sorry about the misspellings. I did not notice as I was typing and cannot edit my comment. That irks me to no end. Lol.

I'm so sorry you have been bothered for so long. I haven't been really, not since my terrible consultation in March anyway. I'm a tough cookie, but that stung for a bit! Turns out Dr Roger Nicholson in Johannesburg was a [RS bleep] though! I've got loads of clear, good boob photos my BF took last week that I will happily share, but can't work out how to get anything posted other than image I just took! Will keep trying as I've found it so interesting and helpful looking at other boobies. It's not really socially acceptable but it's great to see how differently how we are all made :)
Anyway...im booked for 5th March. He said he will just move my skin fold on the right, like seperatethe muscle from skin a big lower. Might make a "wobble line" for a bit but logic says once an implant puts pressure on It, body will go "ah, I must sit here now...." I'm not concerned at all, just excited :) will try post more of my droopey, wonky boobs (and I dont even have kids as an excuse! X

Thank you for sharing, I am so excited for you! I was reading your newer comments and it's funny because I too had never realized how badly they looked until I took photos a couple weeks ago. They always bothered me, but now I am literally obsessing. My husband does not want me to get surgery but I'm trying to explain to him how I've felt for so long. I just hope he understands. I look forward to hearing more from you, and you're right, it does help to see others going through this as well.

I can't work out how to post saved photos here or I would add more boob photos! I have found it so interesting and comforting seeing how different we all are :)

I have found it really reassuring to look at other people's boobies. We are not all perfect!
My surgery is booked for 5th March YAY :)
Surgeon didn't mention smoking in consultation but am just about to read my documents so might see it in there.

Congratulations on booking your date! I cannot believe how abrupt and unfeeling some doctors can be. in my first consult, while he was so nice generally, he mentioned that he could "fix" my nipples and it had never even occurred to me anything was wrong with them. suddenly that got in my head and i just couldnt shake it. the next PS i saw mentioned that he noticed my abdominal hernia and that it could be corrected. good god. I never had body image issues other than my breasts before and its stressful enough to go and be "evaluated" by a stranger! subsequently, I've felt better and better since surgery. confidence is at an all time high and I have zero regrets about my own "birthday gift" :) good luck!
definitely try to quit smoking now if you can. It will delay and impair healing and this is an investment you want to protect, for sure!

I know they are doing a job, but the 1st guy actually gutted! "I can see why you are so unhappy" "er, actually I wasn't, I was just wondering about getting bigger boobies" Thanks for your response. Looks like the cigs may have to go then!! X

Yikes, I need to quit too. Chantix helped me but it made me throw up each time I had to take a dose so I stopped taking it. But I'm thinking I may need to just deal. Other than the nausea though, it really works!!

Shall we just stop tomorrow? I stopped for a week a few months ago and decided to smoke again. Wouldn't it be a shame to go through all this prep and money only for it to go wrong due to our own fault?

Yes it would, and that sounds like a plan!! Another good reason for me... I will be financing my surgery with Carecredit and the monthly payment equals what I spend on cigarettes. So there are a lot of upsides to quitting and none to continuing. The worst part is smoking outside in our -11 degree Farenheit weather here in Michigan (USA) lately!!

My husband took Chantix and quit but he always ate a snack like a cookie or something lite even sugar free jello.. he wasn’t sick at all.. hope this may help.
