40th Birthday Present- New Boobs!

WORTH IT$5,840
So I’ve always been flat chested and I always thought I would get a BA someday. When I was younger my boobs were small but cute and I never wore a bra but after breastfeeding 2 babies and gaining and losing weight with pregnancy I basically have nothing left, just empty skin and nipples. Less than an A cup.I started seriously researching doctors and I’ve been to 3 consults so far. I have one more scheduled then I am ready to book surgery for December when I can take some time off work. I’m excited and nervous. I’ve never had surgery or been under general anesthesia before.I’m worried about the recovery with my 2 little kids (ages 3 and 5) and a less than supportive husband. I’m 5’4 and weigh about 120 lbs. I’m thinking 275-300 cc’s. We shall see!

Have you looked into Breast Implant Illness? I am 11 days post explant, and wishing I had never augmented 7 years ago.

Hi. I wish you all of the best. Please take note that some people recover quickly and some take longer. I wish your husband was more supportive, because you are going to need help. Do you have a mother or friend that can stay with you if needed? I thought I would be ok in 4 to 5 days. But I wasn't. It also affects you psychologically. I couldn't look at or care for my breasts and incisions, when I tried I almost fainted. It took 3 to 4 weeks to get used to it. I only started showering and washing my own hair at 8 weeks post op. I can't remember exactly when, but I started driving early in my recovery period. (automatic car). I am now 10 weeks post op. I still have aches and pains. I am hoping that I will be fully healed and pain free soon. I've learned that it can take 4 to 6 months. However you could be one of the lucky ones and heal quick.

I'm super nervous about the recovery! I have a pretty high pain tolerance after having kids so hoping it won't be too terrible. I work in a hospital too and use my arms a lot. Hoping I can take 2-4 weeks off work. I think if I can leave my kids with someone for the first few days I will be okay by myself or with my husband. I just end up doing everything for the girls and I'll be laid up for a few weeks and need some major help with them. I was hoping with a smaller size implant the recovery could be easier? We shall see...

I just looked though your review, what a rough recovery you have had! So sorry that it's been so painful and awful. On the positive your breasts look amazing and super natural! Do you regret it or are you happy with the results?

Hi, I’m happy with my results, but I will be satisfied when all the discomfort is gone. If I still have pain and discomfort 4 months from now, then yes I will regret getting implants. But from day 1 to now things have gotten better, so I will stay positive that this will also pass. I gave birth naturally to my second child and that was easier than this. I think because childbirth is quick. Recovering from implant surgery takes time.

I don’t know if smaller implants equal a quicker recovery. You could probably get away with a smaller implant. But I’m glad I got 400cc, because they seem just right. I had a lot of space that needed filling.

I just did! Yours look great already and seems like recovery has been smooth so far. Hope I get lucky like you! Also you looked great in your "before" pictures too.

Thank you! Yes I loved my boobs beforehand. It wasn't a choice I made out of hatred but rather enhancement of what I've got already. Found the right doctor to help me achieve my goals too. It's v important!

Here is my before. I have been going back and forth about sizing so much. I was thinking 275 to 300 but now I am having boob greed and wondering if I should be going bigger like 325-350. I’m planning smooth round implants, under the muscle, probably moderate profile. My BWD was 10 or 11. Pretty narrow and I don’t know how far my skin could stretch. We shall see! I have one more consult in 2 weeks then I will be ready to book my surgery date!

What's your height and weight?
September 13, 2020
Ahh! I should have included above. I'll update it. I'm 5'4" and about 120 lbs. Always been curvier on my lower half.
September 14, 2020
You could probably go a little bigger if you wanted! Since your going under the muscle usually the implant will look a little smaller since the muscle will compress the implant! Hopefully some others comment here with the same stats as you to help with your decision! Good luck! Either way they will look great! I'll be waiting for the after pics.

Won't be until December as that's when I could get time off work. December will be here soon enough though. I'm a runner and pretty athletic so I want to still be able to do stuff after without feeling like my boobs are too big (although honestly since I'm starting with nothing I'll probably only get to a C at the biggest). I just want to make it worth it because I'm spending all the money but I alternate between worrying about going too big or too small. Ha! I just want it to look like I have boobs but not obviously fake ones? My cousin is extremely slender and she got 400 cc's and they are like DD's on her. She looks great but that would be too big on me. She loves her boobs though! Best decision she ever made.

Hi dear! If it helps - I have very similar stats as you. 5'3", 118lbs, w/ a 10.5 BWD and I just had my surgery 2 weeks ago. I went with 275cc's. I have yet to try on bras but I measured my bust and it's looking like 32C. I posted some pics on my review if you want to see if it matches your goals. I'm like you and very active. My coworker got a boob job and her gripe was going TOO big because she feels it gets in the way when she's running or doing CrossFit. A good rule of thumb is to think to yourself, "would I be more upset if the outcome were too big or too small?" This can help decide between your upper or lower range :) Good luck!!

I’m 5’5” 120lb and very active so I’m concerned about going too big. My BWD is around 12, so originally my PS suggested 385-415HP but with my existing tissue (large A, small B) I’m worried I’ll be too large. So I’m going see what 365cc looks like - I hate my 3D vector image, but I guess it’s just my anatomy I have to accept! I’m 99% sure high profile is the right profile to go with though. Good luck! Feel free to check out my posts - my surgery date is nov 6!

Obsessed with boobs!

Been on this site a ton looking at reviews. Can’t wait for my surgery! December will be here before I know it and I’ve narrowed it down to 2 surgeons but have to make a final decision. I know both are competent but I’m leaning towards the cheaper one who does free revisions if there is any issue. Next week I have another consultation. It will be 4 PS total that I have met. The first one was amazing but super expensive, the second one we did a virtual consult and she kept me waiting forever and then her screen was totally black, I know it we just a technological issue but it was a total turn off. The third one ended up being the ex husband of a doctor I work with! But he seemed great and had the most competitive price. Only issue is he is 45 min away which will be annoying for f/u visits. The 4th one is next week and local and depending on pricing could be the one for me! But I would also be happy going with number 3. Literally half the price of all the bells and whistles of the fancy office for number 1! But I’m happy I’ve met all of them and learn a lot with each doctor.
Originally I was going to go 275 but the more I research the more I am thinking 350 or maybe even 400(??!). I’ve always been really small on top and curvier on bottom. Post breast feeding 2 kids and losing weight my upper body is positively skeletal. I have almost no native breast tissue. I worry about my skin’s ability to stretch. I just want it to look like I have boobs with and without clothes. But I also want to still fit into my x-small scrub tops.
I worry about the recovery with 2 small kids that are really demanding. I also work in a hospital and use my upper body a ton. Planning on 2 full weeks off of work then 2 more weeks working less.
I know I’ve already waited almost 40 years and 2 more months is nothing but I’m impatient for it to be here already!
I’m also worried about exercising after. I’m athletic and love to run and need daily exercise to stay sane. I think taking so many weeks off will be hard for me.
For reference I am 5’4” and 120 lbs. I’ve always been an A and now probably an AA but I’ve never really worn bras because I could never fill them out.

I'm obsessed, too! I'm going to be 50 in November. Surgery date is October 6! I'm in Sonoma County but found a doc I feel good about in San Francisco. I like that he does the rapid recovery protocol and I feel like he gives amazing results. I'm 5'5 140, small on top, curvy on the bottom - I finally feel like I'm going to have that well-proportioned body I've always wanted! Keep us posted on your journey!

November what? I'm 40 on November 19th! Had so many big birthday plans pre-covid but now at least I'll be getting some new boobs a few weeks after. Which dr did you like in SF? I had a consultation with Larry Fan who was amazing but so much $$$. I'm probably going with Steven Struck in the peninsula but going to meet one more MD in Oakland before I decide for sure. I also have a really small breast diameter and am scared of torpedo boobs. I alternate being scared of going too big or too small, ha! Just like when I was younger and would have a party and would worry that nobody would come or too many people! Also how old are you kids? Mine are 3 and 5 and I'm worried about having to take care of them while I'm recovering. I just have so much on my plate right now!
September 22, 2020
I'm November 3rd! I'm going with Dr. Sieber. He's a little pricier than some of the docs in my area but I think he's worth it. Yeah my biggest fear about this is that I'm going to end up with a weird shape. My doc does the Vectra 3d images but for some reason I still can't visualize the result. My kids are grown so I don't have that issue, but I totally sympathize. Look at it this way, at least you don't have to explain to a 21 year old that you are getting a boob job. It's awkward.
September 22, 2020
At 5'4", 120, I think maybe 335 - 375 would be a good range for you. You could probably go as big as 400, although that size could possibly interfere with some exercises. If you want to not be bigger than a 32C, then 325 or less is probably about right. 32C holds up to 390 cc (breast tissue and implant).
September 22, 2020
This is so helpful! Thank you! I have almost no breast tissue right now, just empty skin and nipples so there is lots of room for improvement! I was hoping to be a "C". My cousin got 400 CC's and she is now a D or a DD which I think might be too big for me. But she loves her boobs and regrets nothing! I just want it to also look like I have boobs when I'm wearing clothes.

I saw in the comment to your picture that you think you have chunky thighs. Honey, your body is to die for. I'd kill for your legs!!! Did you lose much breast volume after kids? Did your breasts enlarge much while pregnant? (mine get ENORMOUS and then thrink to nothing after).
November 13, 2020
You are so sweet, thank you! My thighs are always the first place I gain weight and the last place I lose it. I've always been small on top, never had big boobs even while pregnant/breastfeeding. They were *bigger* but never got much bigger than a B cup probably? I've never been fitted for a bra. Post weaning my 2nd child and losing a bunch of weight left me with NOTHING. Just nipples and empty skin. Whatever cute little small perky boobs I had are gone. I'm ready for some new ones
