6 months post-op

It is hard to believe that is has been 6 months since my surgery. I feel like it’s been forever. My breasts feel like a part of me and I don’t really remember my previous breasts. So strange.
Overall I’m very happy and satisfied. A few tidbits: I still don’t have a lot of feeling and my nipples and areolas are completely numb. This is rather disappointing as I’m not sure I’ll get any feeling back in these areas. I do experience twinges and zings but nothing substantial.
Also the top of my left breast itches quite a bit. Not all the time and not everyday but sometimes and it’s strange.
I think they’ve completely settled and dropped. I definitely don’t want them to drop anymore and I’m hoping my skin doesn’t stretch and drop them. After 5 pregnancies and 7.5 years of breastfeeding my breasts don’t have the same elasticity as a young woman.
They are soft and squishy so that is nice. Some clothes make them look quite large but when I’m naked it looks very proportional. The incisions are healing very nicely.
I added some new photos. I’ve been lifting weights for about 3 months so I feel bulkier and less lean than when I was running more miles each week. I’m stronger though so is good. I’ve been consistently exercising 5-6 days a week since about 5 wks post-op.
I have my 6 month post-op appt next week and don’t expect any unexpected news so all is well!

3 months post-op!

Time sure flies! I had my 3 month post-op appt today. All is well! I don’t have a lot of updates. I am still numb throughout my breasts. No feeling at all. My surgeon said it can take up to a year for feeling to return so fingers crossed that I’m not the 5% of people that never regains feeling.

My breasts occasionally feel super cold when you touch them. I’m thinking the implants, but it doesn’t happen all the time.

I’m not sleeping on my tummy at all. I tried but it was uncomfortable. I’m thinking I’ll probably never be a tummy sleeper again. I guess that’s a good thing. Sigh.

I’m still running 3-4 times a week and now introducing more body weight training for a total of 5 days a week of regular exercise, sometimes 6. I eat fairly healthy with lots of vegetables and lean proteins but could reduce my sugar intake and I think I would see better results.

Some clothes look terrible on me now. Some look great! I’m changing my wardrobe slowly and am sad that some of my fave pieces won’t work any more. But I’m really happy with my decision. My biggest concern is that they will drop more or become saggy. I’m hoping they hold their shape and spot on my chest!

I will have to take some pictures of me in actual clothes, haha. I realize I always post the naked shots. I think that’s all. Thanks for reading!

2 months post-op!

I can confidently say that I love my boobs! They have dropped perfectly, they are perky, they squish nicely yet are not too squishy. I don’t think they are too big anymore. They fit me nicely.
We were recently on vacation and I posted photos on Facebook and I had a couple people send me messages about my new cleavage. I haven’t told anyone about my surgery so it is obvious when people see me in a bikini but I’m ok with that as long as they aren’t judgy (though a “friend” of mine was quite judgmental and mean in a message :-(. ). However I also received a lot of compliments in Mexico. A bartender said “Senorita, how many of those children are yours?” I say “cinco.” He says “wow, you are so young. I would have never guessed. You are so beautiful, I just didn’t want to say so in front of your husband and offend him.” Best. Trip. Ever. Haha!
Anyways, I still don’t have any feeling in my breasts. I can’t feel my nipples at all. I’m hoping it comes back eventually.
I still haven’t found a sports bra that I love, but the Shock Absorber does well enough. I’m up to running 5-6 miles again and they aren’t sore at the end of the run. No pain or discomfort ever.
I bought a plain VS bra in 32DDD and it’s comfy for an everyday bra. I still sleep in a cotton Hanes bra because it feels more secure. Though I’m still not sleeping on my tummy and am not sure I’ll ever do that again as I’m afraid of displacement.
I want to find more bikini tops. Any suggestions for good, supportive tops that won’t break the bank are welcome! It’s tricky with bottoms because I want to cover my tummy tuck incision.
I think that’s all. Very happy and satisfied!!!

Overall rating

This is my second procedure with Dr Gervais and Mpls Plastic Surgery. Again a great overall experience. Everyone is friendly and welcoming. Dr Gervais listened to my outcome wishes and was realistic and honest with what he could do. It’s only day 2 and I’m hopeful that my breast will settle and soften well. So far, so good! The staff, nurses and Darren, the anesthesiologist are great! I feel comfortable expressing my concerns and knowing that they will do their best to make sure all is well. I always recommend Mpls Plastic Surgery to friends and family.
