Day 1:
Arrived for surgery at 9:10am. There were icy roads and an icky morning commute.
Signed consents, took pre-photos, and did some re-sizing. Decided on bigger implants than previously decided. I want to make sure my loose skin is filled out well.
Consulted with surgeon and he agreed with a larger implant. We talked about realistic expectations and it was reassuring. He did his markings and left to prepare. IV went in, met with anesthesiologist. Brought back and off to sleep I went at 11am.
Woke up at 1:15, groggy and in quite a bit of pain (7/10) which surprised me because I didn’t think I would be in a lot of pain. My back hurt and the tops of my breasts. I was also nauseous. They gave me Compazine for the nausea and an IV pain med. Bundled me up and home I went.
We stopped at the pharmacy for my pain Rx, ice pack, Gatorade and Senna.
Home to bed. Ate a protein bar, took pain med and fell asleep until 5pm. Woke up in less pain and ate dinner. Backache is still the worst.
Ate some chicken and salad and fell back to sleep from 7:30p-11:30. Woke in pain again and took the muscle relaxer and Norco. Fell back to sleep at 2:30-6:30am.
Breasts look pretty good! The bottom is all my tissue so hopefully when they drop it’ll look better.
Day 2:
Woke up nauseous. Hard to eat. Nibbled on crackers. Tried to drink coffee. Couldn’t take any meds until I ate so it took awhile. Nibbled on a monster cookie. Finally took the antibiotic, Celebrex.
Boobs look like torpedos and sore and swollen. Just resting. No appetite. Took pain meds and muscle relaxer at 11:30. Ate an egg white turkey bacon English muffin at 1pm. Just relaxing. Trying to drink lots of water! Pain is 0 when sitting. When I get up it is sore and swollen. About a 4/10.

Thank you for the kind words. I'll be sure to pass them on to my wonderful staff. It sounds like you are making nice progress day by day. Your breasts will continue to settle over the next few weeks. I look forward to seeing you soon. Have a nice and quiet weekend. Dr. G.

Omg just read the title of your post, our stories are almost identical. I am the mother of 5 and collectively breast fed for 7.5 years as well.....only two Of the 5 were twins. I had a Tummy tuck in November and am going for a BA on April 10th. I’m a bit taller than you at 5’9” and 140 lbs so my implants will be 560 round gummy bear high profile. I’m nervous but very excited, my breasts are a saggy and deflated 36C. You look GREAT! I hope I fair as well as you have!

ooohhh! exciting! BA recovery is sooooooo much easier than the TT. I think you will love them! Give it at least a month before you see the results you want and then it gets better and better :-) Thank you for the compliments! I have to add a 2 month update this weekend.

I’m happy to hear as the recovery for the TT was rough! Thanks, I’m so excited! I’ll follow your updates to get an idea as to what to expect. Thanks again!

The TT was definitely rough!!! BA is so much better. The hardest part for me was sleeping for the first month or so. I don’t sleep on my tummy anymore. I used to be a tummy sleeper but it’s not comfortable now and I’m afraid I’d displace the implants. Feel free to ask anything too :-)

I just read a comment above about you having had a TT 18 months ago, I too was thinking how wonderful your belly looked! Your surgeon did a fabulous job, belly button looks amazing!! I had a hard time sleeping after my TT because of the position we have to stay in post op. But I’m a side sleeper so hopefully it won’t be so bad after my BA. This website has been so helpful in getting prepared and thanks for all the info and all your pics and descriptions of your recovery! I looked through all your pics just now and they look incredible, you must be so pleased! Thanks again!

Day 3:

I was looking at pregnancy and breastfeeding photos and my breasts are definitely big like they were then. They feel so engorged and hard. Uncomfortable and the tape is making me crazy. No real pain except my back. I don’t sleep very well because of my back. Fell asleep at 9:45-2:30. Woke until 5am. Then slept until 7:30 because of my back. Keeping up with muscle relaxers but no Norco. I’m going to try Tylenol today.

Still not much of an appetite and my toast and egg this morning made me nauseous again. Clementines seem to be the only thing that sounds good. Lots of water! Evening meal went well and appetite is increasing. Less nausea!

Tried on a couple of tank tops today and whoa boobs! Compared my bikini top. Won’t do that for awhile again. Scared me! They are so big! Have to be patient for the Frankenboob to go down!

I won’t lie, I’m nervous about the size. Kind of thinking I should have gone smaller like I was previously thinking. Originally liked the 400cc and was thinking 440ish cc because it was going under the muscle. Last minute decided on 485cc and feeling like “oh boy what did I do!” Praying the swelling goes down and they don’t look quite so large!

I think this is Day 3 Post-op. I had it wrong yesterday. Haha.

Day 3

Still not great sleep. Fell asleep about 11:30-4. Woke with a bad backache. Tried to get comfortable but it was not possible. Dozed in and out for about 2 hrs. Finally got up at 6:15. Used a heating pad on my back and that helped.

Appetite is back! Yeah. No nausea! Healthy breakfast of egg and veggie omelet. Trying for more protein today! Apple and havarti, chicken and broccoli slaw. Protein bar and a few chips and a cookie. Oops.

No pain, just soreness...though less sore than yesterday. Boobs look a teeny bit different, I think. A tiny bit softer perhaps. Tingling and hot sensations, I think that’s a good sign. I have mixed feelings but I think I just have to get used to them.

I saw a woman’s results of her 500cc implants and how they dropped and fluffed by 8 months and they looked great. So fingers crossed for mine!

Afraid I was going to bust a stitch or two after that Vikings playoff, last-play-to-win-the-game-touchdown! Amazing!
