Hello all, I found this forum extremely useful (and a little stressful - I'm sure many could relate to this as there is so much information) so I thought I'd pay it forward and share my experience.
Background:
Height 163cm
Weight 56kg
Breast diameter 13cm
Current bra size 34aa/a
Goal is to be very natural and goal is to be full C.
Concerns:
- I had previously had a rare form of thyroid cancer so BIA ALCL was a huge part of my research
- capsular contracture (as I'm sure many people would be)
- choosing the right surgeon ( I had 2 consultations, and I will share my experience with my chosen surgeon and why a little later)
- selecting the right size, not falling into boob greed
I'll update the review once I finish the surgery.
Post consultation the surgeon has decided 3 sizes to try (Mentor moderate plus) 255cc, 275cc and 325cc. We will be using Low textured and below the muscle.
2 weeks to go now...excited and nervous!

Hi look forward to seeing your results. I am also due to get mines done in June but I might have to postpone. All your concerns are the same is mine. I have a strong cancer link in the family .. the BII… does that concern you?

Weirdly the BII doesn't concern me as much. From my research there isn't a lot of medical studies proving it, and I don't think this surgery won't come without any risks. Please let me know if you go ahead with June!

We have the same stats. But with 13cm my doctor recommended moderate because it's wider. I also didn't want a big gap between boobs.. I was thinking about 250cc but my surgeon said i will need slightly bigger. So considering 295cc and 310cc

Ohh that's so interesting! I've left it up to the surgeon to decide what's proportionate to my body so will be interesting to see what implant he ends up with. I spoke to my nurse about it as well during the pre- surgery consult and she told me the differences are very minimal and size cup is very complex so it could be a matter of trying and seeing what's best on the day. Good luck with your surgery!

Surgery day at Fitzwilliam hospital with Mr Barabas

mummyval92
I’ve had my surgery now, admission was at 12pm and I was in my room by 12:30pm at Fitzwilliam hospital.

My surgery was originally the second one of the day but I was switched last minute. Mr Barabas came in to do the markup and say hi around 1pm. I trusted him to make the final decision with the size and we had agreed I like the look of 315cc but wanted a very natural look. He had ordered 3 different sizes - 275, 295 and 325.

I was back in my room by 5ish and the initial pain was a 3/10. Was given painkillers ever few hours. The nurses were wonderful so patient and attentive, especially my night nurse.

Post surgery Mr Barabas came in 2 times once in recovery room and once in my ward. He ended up picking 325cc and he said the surgery went well. I really appreciate the fact he doesn’t make me feel like I’m asking too many questions. He also is very easy to talk to. I had a video call before discharge the next day, then 1 week and 6 week follows up in person. And of course he said if I have any q to get in contact, which I did have.
