I began exploring breast augmentation years ago as an option to address loss of volume and fullness in breasts after years of breastfeeding. I am 5’11” and 142lbs… my original size wasn’t huge as I’ve always been tall and thin - I was I ranged from a 28D to a 32b depending on my weight. After BF, I lost a bit of volume and was likely more of a 32A - small B. I don’t have a lot of tissue but there is some there that I could push up a bit. I have a wide rooted, shallow breast as well - so limited projection. I was not looking for a huge change - more wanted to get back to where I was when I breastfed and maybe a touch more..I just wanted a natural, not overdone… me, but improved a touch.

As mentioned I’d explored for years, and finally decided to take the plunge this summer. I spoke with three different doctors who gave me a fairly consistent opinion and all of whom had very different demeanors. Dr. Hummel and the staff were all wonderful, kind and didn’t try to steer me into a larger implant that I wanted. I opted a for 325cc Mentor Memory gel moderate + under muscle per the doctor’s guidance. I really liked how the dr and his team were so compassionate, information and kind. There was little wait and the nurses were always prompt in returning messages. I knew after the first consult I trusted Dr. Hummel and his team and scheduled shortly after that consult. He had me back in 2 weeks prior to my surgery to make sure I was comfortable and do him to do a third set of measurements to be sure he was on point. He had several meds called in and I picked those up the week prior to surgery. It was Oxycodone, a muscle relaxant and some anti-nausea med, and I also go some stool softener and extra strength Tylenol to have in my med basket.

Surgery was yesterday afternoon. Not a long process to get in, the nurses were funny and helped ease my anxiety. I was wheeled back, and remember about two minutes in the OR before I woke up in recovery shortly thereafter. I believe the surgery took 70 minutes or so. In the recovery room, I had no pain at all - just a bit of pressure and feeling like I couldn’t breathe very deeply. I was pretty much my normal self in recovery and getting home, just a bit loopy from the anesthesia. I spent the evening sitting up and watching a it of tv and reading. Honestly did not feel much pain at all, just pressure on my chest. I started being able to take deeper breathes around seven hrs post procedure.

I did take my prescriptions yesterday and this morning as directed, except I didn’t take my pain relieve at the exact time - waited about half an hour, but I really don’t have much pain. I’m hoping I can be done with those pain meds today and maybe just take Tylenol and the muscle relaxer at nights for a few more days. I’m having no issue walking, moving my arms a bit and getting off and on surfaces like a sofa, bed, etc. I don’t need help in the bathroom, and I dressed myself this morning. I do still have a bit of a aching where I think the stitches are, and I’m swollen but it’s much better than I thought it would be. I believe much of that was due to Dr. Hummer’s skill. I’d also highly recommend going into any surgery run good physical shape - my strong core and legs made it so much easier for me to move around getting up especially.

All that said, I’m only one day post op so I might be feeling it more tomorrow. But right now, I’m feeling great and very happy with my results thus far!

Day Three Post Op

Yowza, I should not be writing reviews while on pain meds - sorry for the first entry’s errors!

Had surgery Monday at 2 pm, and it’s now Thursday at 12:00 pm, just about three days. I am back at work (I’m remote and work on a computer), have been off Oxycodone since Tuesday evening, and only take the muscle relaxer at night. I do take a couple of Tylenol as directed during the day, as there’s a little soreness on my left incision. I showered last night and this morning, no issues other than it felt weird to have water hitting my new boobs. No issues with mobility and I’m preparing dinner for tonight so I can do light housework type activity. I’ve walked a very slow mile the last two mornings and am doing the arm movements my dr recommends (I did 5 miles daily plus a workout before so this is a huge shift!). Other than not pooping, I feel fantastic.

I’m def getting feeling back on the sides of my boobs and nipples, but still have swelling of course. But otherwise I am surprised at how easy the recovery has been. I even messaged my dr’s office to see if they’d placed some sort of nerve block but they did not. The nurse said people often just read horror stories online and don’t realize a lot more women do just fine with easier recoveries.

Just excited to see how they settle - already love them and can’t believe I waited this long!

Day Four PO

Took a muscle relaxer last night and some Tylenol this am, but other than that I feel great. A bit of tightness in my chest but nothing crazy… much less than what it felt like when my milk came in after my child was born. I was so excited to feel my nipples and skin starting to feel more alive last night! Before they just felt numb, but I’ve got sensitivity and it feels great to think nerves are reconnecting - was terribly worried I would lose sensitivity but I’m now very hopeful.

They still feel a little balloon like but seem to be softening up. I remember those air push up bras back in the 90’s that had a little pocket of air instead of foam padding, and it kind of feels like that. Looking forward to when they feel a little less like air bags lol! Less than a week out from surgery but I feel like I’m doing well.

I did try on a sexy dress I bought last year but never wore because I didn’t fill it out and it’s not a dress you wear a bra with. I felt so sexy and feminine in it today, and my boobs looked incredible. Still a lot of healing to go but I’m so pleased to date!
