3 weeks post op follow up appt

I had my 3 weeks post op today! My PS said everything is looking good, still some swelling, as expected. I expressed my concerns about my scars, as they feel very hard, almost bone like. He said this is normal, and Asians do tend to scar darker. He said it is way too early for them to be keloids, so I shouldn't worry about that yet. He gave me a medical grade silicone gel that has spf 30 in it, called Silagel. I'm supposed to apply twice a day and gently massage them on to my scars. I'm hoping it will help lighten the color! I don't mind the scar or even how it's raised, but I do hope the color will lighten a bit as right now, it is very noticeable, almost like someone used a brown marker and drew an one inch line under each breast. I asked him if I should also consider using silicone scar sheets, he said I can, but that will be overkill and not needed, so I think I will hold off on that unless I see no improvement at all.
I'm also cleared to work out! I can do my regular workouts, light cardio, squats with light weights, etc. I just cannot do anything involving the chest muscles, so no push ups. I'm happy to hear this because I usually try to work out at least 4 times a week, so this is great news. I'm still sleeping in my sports bra, on my back. I can now wear regular bras, even those with underwire. However he said to not wear push up bras. I can wear bras that have the small pad inserts as many bras have them to not let the nipples show, as long as the padding is not too much. He advised me to not go too crazy buying too many new bras as the breasts are still going to drop and fluff more, so the size might change. Based on my current progress, I might be a C cup, but this is hard to tell still. I scheduled another appt in two months; this will be my 3 months post op appointment. I'm hoping the breasts will drop more and my scars will be lighter! He also said as they drop and fluff, they will look closer together, creating more natural cleavage. I'm still very happy with the results as they look very proportional to my frame.

Almost three weeks post op

I've been following drs orders and massaging three times a day, at least five minutes each time. They seem to have dropped a bit and gotten softer, but a little smaller as well? Maybe cus the swelling is going down? I heard that as they fluff out more they'll look a little bigger. Any ladies with this experience? I see my PS next Tuesday for my three well post op follow up he said that's when I can start putting on scar cream. My scars are raised, dark and feel very hard right now, like bone. I'm looking forward to them getting lighter in color. I'm my also going to ask my PS if I can do more lower body workouts like squats. So far I've been taking long walks every day to stay active but I'm anxious to get back to my regular workout routine.

Seven days post op, stitches removed!

I had my one week follow up today, my doctor took the stitches out. It only took a few seconds and I barely felt anything. He said everything looks good and can start massaging today. I'm supposed to massage at least fifteen minutes a day, does not have to be straight fifteen minutes. He showed me three massage techniques. As you can see from the pictures, the scars are quite noticeable. I will have another follow up in two weeks and that's when I'll be able to start applying scar cream! Hopefully the color will lighten a bit. I know Asians tend to scar darker, does anyone have any updates on how their scars look?

Dr. Kim is great! he has a very chill, calm, demeanor. You can tell he's honest and not trying to 'sell' you anything. After consulting with him, I knew I made the right choice. I asked him a bunch of questions about risks of rupture, capsule contracture, and he answered all my questions in depth. On the day of surgery, my nurse was so sweet. The next day, Dr. Kim also called me for a check up, and we scheduled another in person check up for the day after. He gave me his personal cell and email as well. Even his nurse told me he replies to emails quickly, usually within the hour. I'm very happy with my choice.
