9.5 week update! PLUS why cup size doesn't matter!
Stats: Age 26 - 5'3.5" - 117lbs - 32A - BWD 10 - 325cc HP
I've had a few requests to do another update so here goes! I'm 9.5 weeks out and pretty much used to my new additions now! They're not something I'm conscious of all the time which is nice lol. I don't have any pain except some discomfort/a "pulling sensation" at the bottom of leftie when I lay certain ways or during certain sex positions. It's annoying but hoping it'll completely go away soon! I had another post op 2wks ago & he said everything is great and I won't see him for another 6 mo unless I need to. I'm cleared to do everything besides pec exercises which he said to hold off to 3 months out.
SO I wanted to talk about cup size & why women considering a BA should not focus on it!!! I went into this wanting a "full B/small C cup" & was terrified of anything bigger. Well, I went to Dillard's to get sized a few weeks ago and they sized me at a 30DDD!!!! In my head I was like "psh, this girl doesn't know what she's doing, gonna have to go somewhere else now..." but she proceeded to try many 30DDD bras on me and they fit like a glove! I was still skeptical so the next day I went to Nordstrom to be sized and guess what? 30DDD. Both ladies explained that ppl get caught up in cup size bc they don't understand that even though DDD sounds huge, my band size is only a 30 (I measured 27 around beneath my bust which evidently means I'm a 30 band size) so the cup is smaller. Basically, the volume of a cup size varies with band size. She also explained "sister" sizing to me...if you go up a band size, you must go down a cup size & vice versa. In my case, my "ideal" bra size is a 30DDD but it's sister sizes are: 28F, 30E (some brands don't use DDD), 32DD, 34D, 36C, etc. (Yes, I tried on & fit perfectly into a 28F!) The lady told me to always match my band size first if possible b/c it is better for the longevity of the bra & provides the BEST fit. In my case, many stores won't carry a 30DDD so I may have to buy 32DD or 34D, etc. And of course you must factor in variation between different brands...I did wear a 32D in a couple brands that run bigger. My point is, don't worry about cup size! Had you told me prior to my BA that I would be in the double and triple D range, I would NEVER have done this. However, had I ended up a full B/small C like I desired I would be crying that my boobs are way too small!
Overall I'm very happy I went through with my BA! No regrets! Yes, as mentioned in my previous updates, I wish my boobs naturally sit closer together so I'd have better cleavage. Another thing that bothers me is the "muscle flex deformity" meaning how the implants laterally displace when I use or flex my chest muscles. However, I can do nothing about either of those things. I can't change my anatomy and the implants are expected to move with flexion when placed beneath the muscle. I did mention it to my surgeon and we both still agreed there are many more pros than cons to going beneath the muscle. He said if it ever bothers me too much I can always switch to overs but then I risk capsular contracture, unnatural implant look on my frame, rippling, etc. So are there cons to a BA? Yes. But for me the pros outweigh the cons, especially when I look at my before pictures! I feel more confident in clothes, sexier in lingerie, and not to mention my husband LOVES them! Ha!
For those wanting to know if I'm happy with the size, my answer is yes! I DO have boob greed sometimes (mainly when I'm wearing clothes) and think maybe I'd have been happier with 350 or 375, but at the end of the day I know I got the results I wanted from the beginning: a very natural look that fits my frame. I will say, I have never once wished I'd gone smaller since they settled, so for girls on the fence...go with the bigger size. I was between 286, 300, & 325 and I'm SO glad I didn't go any smaller than 325!
If anybody has any questions I didn't answer, feel free to send me a comment or message!

Please don't compare yourself!
Hi everyone! Just wanted to stop in and say a few things. Before I started researching BA, I had no idea there were so many types of boobs! All I knew was I had no boobs and I assumed all the boob-blessed folks in the world all had similar boobs! (How many times can I say boobs in this post?)
As I was saving my "wish boob" pics, I noticed I went for those full, round, symmetrical-nipples, naturally one inch apart boobs which turned out to be unrealistic for me! When I had my initial consult, the first thing my surgeon said was that my nipples are somewhat lateral (basically I have wider-set boobs) and I was sorta bummed. He said it's not uncommon and I would still have a great result. There is nothing you can do about your starting anatomy anyway and I decided to have the procedure!
Since my BA (3.5 weeks ago), I've noticed how much I compare my new boobs to some of the boobs I see on this site, or social media, or even girls in the advertisements that play before the trailers at a movie theater! lol. Finding myself bummed that mine don't naturally sit close together or that I probably won't be able to have that beautiful "butt" cleavage that others have, etc.
So the other night as I was critiquing myself, I googled "types of boobs." Turns out there are at least 9 types (and variations of each, of course): asymmetric, bell-shape, east-west (nips point opposite directions), wide-set (me), relaxed (nips face downward), narrow-set, slender, tear-drop, round.......
Naturally, I next googled "celebrities with wide-set boobs" and proceeded to look at a bunch of red carpet celebs with boobs similar to mine who I have always thought looked AMAZING & thought things in the past like "I would kill for those boobs!) I also looked more on this site & focused on the many women with similar boobs to mine who I think look fab. I started realizing I'm being way too critical of myself, my anatomy is completely normal & common. My boobs may not look like so-n-so's and I may not have that natural cleavage, but that doesn't mean they don't look great!
I guess I'm just putting this out there because I know I'm not the only one guilty of comparing myself on here & to remind everyone there are MANY types of boobs, all of them VERY common, and that doesn't mean you're less HOT than the girl next to you! You're all booby-ful!;)

Little over 3 weeks out--starting to love them:)
Stats: Age 26 - 5'3.5" - 117lbs - 32A - BWD 10 - 325cc HP
I had my 3 week PO appt the other day & my PS said everything looks great! I can get sized now...they will continue to drop/soften but the size will not change from here. I can start wearing low support bras but no push ups...which I'm actually not ready to wear bras yet! My incisions are still too uncomfortable to have something rub against them all day and I want to allow my boobs to soften/move around more so bra shopping will be more successful. I've still just been wearing my nipple covers. Hopefully in another week or so I will be ready to bra shop...and lingerie shop yesss! Haha. He cleared me to start getting my heart rate up: walking, stationary bike etc. and after another 2-3 weeks I can run/do most everything else besides chest exercises. He told me to keep massaging occasionally and I'll see him again in 1mo.
I'm still numb below my nipples which from what I've read is normal. My nipple sensitivity has improved quite a bit thank goodness. I also developed a Mondor's cord around left incision (pictured)...not too concerned with it because I know it will go away with time. Hopefully all of the above will continue to improve over the next few weeks! I'll also add here my left boob is bigger than my right. You can tell this the most from the side (see video). I'm fine with it because my left boob has always been bigger even during my tiny [RS bleep] days! lol. Before my surgery, my PS said he might do 350 in righty to correct the asymmetry but he didn't...so I'm not sure if that's bc it wouldn't fit (he said everything was sooooo tight) or if it would overcorrect the asymmetry. Oh well! I'm ok with it either way.
I forgot to say before I've been applying a combo of Palmer's stretch mark formula & bio oil every night (and some mornings) since 3 weeks pre-op to help increase my skin elasticity & avoid stretch marks. Not sure if it has made a difference, but no stretchies yet! My husband walked into the bathroom the other night as I was massaging the cream/oil into my boobs and said "Gotta say, I'll be glad when you're done with that [RS bleep] cream! You smell weird every night!" lol.
I bought a 32C t-shirt bra from Target to try on sizers before my surgery. It's the only bra I have (aside from my old 32As) so I put that on for some pics today. The bra is too narrow for me, as in the cups are too close together for my boobs, but still! I was very excited!! Hoping I will be a 32C on average bc that's exactly what I wanted:)
I'll be honest, the 1st week or so I had regrets, a lot of down moments, and I wasn't sure I made the right decision to do this. I wasn't as happy or excited as I imagined I'd be, maybe just because I was in so much discomfort and they seemed foreign to me. Good news is, this last week I have really started to love them! I am getting used to them on my body and at this point I am so glad I went through with it!! That being said, for anyone reading this feeling low or unsure, give it time after having this procedure. Don't negatively judge them immediately. Sometimes it takes some time to adjust & grow to love them. Mine still have a long way to go but I'm sure I'll only love them more as they start feeling more n more like real boobs!
