Hello all!
I’ve been wanting a BA since I was 16yo and I’ve had my plastic surgery picked out since I was 18! He’s done BEAUTIFUL work and has over 25+ years of experience and has done 5 of my friends BAs. I’m wanting a full D cup (small DD) from a 34B. Surgery is on 11/29/17 and it couldn’t come fast enough!! My PS suggested doing Mentor Saline implants with possibly 415-425cc with a transaxillary (armpit) incision under the muscle. After looking at other pictures and reviews I’m thinking 415-425 is too small and I should be somewhere around 425-475cc. Thoughts on implant type and size? I really want the look of a High Profile implant vs a Moderate or Moderate Plus. Larger CC’s? I’ll post wish boobs and my current shape and size as well in the photos and update you throughout this journey. My PS will decide the final shape and size of implant with me the day of surgery. I’m almost convinced though I should be around the 450cc mark with a high profile implant. Also, I’m not too nervous for the pain. My surgery is on a Wednesday and I don’t return back to work until Monday which I think will be plenty of time.

I am 5'6! That's exciting! I think I've decided to go with 450-500cc now after photos and review. Surgery is next Wednesday I'm excited!

Hi there, here’s my honest opinion: for a first augmentation I thinks it’s best to “err on the small” and for more than one reason. Mind you 415cc - 425 is already quite substantial; at that size each implant will weigh over 1 pound each. Also going up too large at one time you risk getting stretch marks. Another thing I’m thinking is with saline implants and little breast tissue covering a larger implant the more unnatural your breasts will feel. Even at 415 cc you may want to consider silicone which feels much more natural than saline. As described by some of the member’s “pushing on their saline implants they felt they were pushing on a bag of water”. As a reference see Lucky.Charms.3 comment in response to Chocogirl’s question on the difference between saline versus silicone. You’ll find her message in the Nov 5, 2017 update (review link below):

For more opinions on size as well as saline vs silicone I recommend you post your pics and questions in the “ask a doctor” section here. Look for the link at the top of this page. Good luck with your decision.

Excited for your journey! I was a 34B and just had my BA last week :) hopefully once they settle I’ll be a small D. Do you know your BWD? I think that would help determine which size would look good on you too based on what you’re wanting!

I have a consultation scheduled next week with carl price. I am getting nervous because almost every review has an armpit insision with saline implants. During your consultation did he give you the option of silicone or the inframitory Incision?

You won’t be disappointed he and his staff are wonderful! My surgery scheduler was Amanda and she did a great job as well.

Yep he did! He is more bias to saline implants and I felt more comfortable with a saline and he prefers the transaxillary incision for saline since the procedure can be done with an endoscope and is less invasive/easier recovery and less scaring. He will support your decision whatever you choose and give you detailed information about it. I’m not sure however if he can do transaxillary if you choose silicone so it would most likely be inframmary. He does not like the periaeriolar incision and will avoid that option most of the time.

He supported both options and said he would recommend silicone if someone wanted a very natural feel to the implant almost like natural breast tissue, but states he can give you the same or better cosmetic look with saline and I would support that statement! He’s done mine and 6 of my fiends (one who did her surgery the same day as mine) and they all look very natural or a little “augmented” if that’s the look they requested (I was one of those people.)

Best of luck!! You will love the outcome! I have absolutely no regrets!

That is so exciting! I’m 3 weeks post-op today. I’ll post more pictures. The surgery was so easy and the recovery wasn’t as bad as I thought. Rebecca RN in pre-op and Tracy RN in post-op are amazing!! I really loved Rebecc in pre-op though. Dr. Kerr was my anesthesiologist and did a fantastic job and I had no nausea before or after surgery. I arrived at 1145/12 and I went back into surgery at 1/130 and was our the door by 4 (I think). Great experience! You have nothing to worry about. So excited for you!! You won’t regret it.

Night Before Surgery!

So here’s the night before surgery! It’s around 12:45 and I have to be at the surgery center at 11:30am tomorrow. I can’t sleep for anything so I tonight I would write an update! My best friend is having her BA tomorrow as well right before mine. Her surgery time is 11:30 and mine is 1pm ?? My plan for CCs hasn’t been finalized but we have a range from 425-500cc. I’m a 34B, 150lbs, 5’6 and 25 with no children yet, but I know I’m getting a tansaxillary incision under the muscle mentor saline implants.

My pre-op surgical instructions were listed as follows:
Wash with hibiclens toning and tomorrow morning
Remove all jewelry
Nothing or drink to after midnight, but I can have clear liquids until tomorrow at 9:30am
Wear something easy to get dressed in and comfortable. I’m wearing my husbands sweat pants, a spots bra, a front zipper jacket, and slippers ??

The surgery will take approximately 1-1/2 hours and hopefully I’ll be home by early afternoon.

For post-op recovery I have the following:
Meds I’ll get the day of surgery (required to do it this way)
Lemon Lime Gatorade
100% Prune Juice for post anesthesia/pain med constipation
Stool softener
Neck pillow
Backrest pillow with arms (MUST HAVE! And only $15 at walmart)
Lots of pillows
Chicken soup/broth and crackers in case of nausea
Ginger ale
Favorite snacks
Even though it’s Thanksgiving week, my husband and I ordered 9 meals from Freshly (freshly.com) so neither one of us had to cook at all while I recover
Surgical bra will be provided by the surgery center

Nerves aren’t what I would say I have. More like anticipation and just concerned they will look what I imagined in my head after I heal and recover. So exited though! This is something I’ve wanted for 10 years and it’s finally happening! Goodnight all and good luck to those who’s also on this boob journey!

Holy moly! I’m hurting so much more than I thought I would ladies! My PS did an AMAZING job tough and all of the RNs and doctors at my surgery center were incredible I can’t wait to send their office a thank you basket and card. My best friend had he surgery done before me the same day, but in the morning and she came it perfect as well! Dr. Price and his staff are amazing (both at the surgery center and clinic)!
After my PS and I talked before surgery I showed him all my wish pictures and we decided I would be a moderate plus profile instead of high profile because my BWD, my left nipple distance to my crease. He said it would make my nipples point downward. I trust his judgement completely and he did amazing! I ended up getting Mentor Smooth Round Moderate Plus Profile 470cc in each!
I am SO HAPPY with the results so far! They are very tight right now and he said what he put in is the max amount of CC he could do.
I expected to bruise because of the size and I bruise very easily anyways. I can take a shower after 12pm today. I’m taking Norco (pain meds) every 4 hours and I have a prescription of Keflex I’ll finish today (antibiotic) and I also have a Zofran prescription if I get nauseas. They ask placed a scopolamine patch behind my left year (for nausea) that I can keep in until tomorrow afternoon. The surgery it’s went fantastic although it did take me a little longer to wake up and I was in some pain when I woke up, but it was still an extremely easy and smooth process.
I posted a few photos I just took this morning and I’ll try to write each post up day this week and after my 1 week I’ll go to weekly posts.
Thank you amazing RealSelf ladies for all your support!

hey girly! what size is your white bra? I bought a similar one but it was only going by numbered sizes and the 36 I feel like was too tight especially since I still haven’t had my surgery!
