24 Y/O Primary Breast Aug
Dr. Pittman is amazing. My surgery was scheduled for 4/23/2021 and I am 6 days post op. The result so far exceeded my expectations. I know I still have A LOT of swelling and bruising that will take some time to go away so I won’t see the “final” results for a little while (3-9 months,) but my confidence is through the roof. I have been wearing my support garment almost 24/7 except for now I’m able to take showers, and I do a breast exam twice a day as advised by Dr. Pittman, so I unlatch my bra for 5-10 minutes out of the day, examine any swelling, bruising, and my incisions, even tho they are still covered and protected by durable steri-strips. After then I’ll put my support bra back on because I have noticed that they do tend to be more sore, heavy, and overall more sensitive and tender when the garment is off. Dr, Pittman’d bedside manner is outstanding. His voice is so soothing, and me being diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, definitely made the decision tougher for me, but he reassured me that after the the procedure I would be happy with the results. He showed me a lot of implant options and sizes, and we came up with the best option for my body and frame together, instead of him making me feel like I didn’t have a say in what I wanted. He advised me on what size and shape implants would compliment my small stature and he uses the Crisalix software, so I was able to see an idea of how my new girls would look after the procedure was finished. Beware, that the imaging is not going to be an exact match of what you have after the procedure is done, or maybe they’ll look more like the Crisalix image after they have settled into their final destination (lol) and the bruising has subsided significantly. The entire team for Somenek & Pittman were extremely nice, welcoming, caring, comforting, and most importantly, PATIENT. Going into the consultation I had an exact idea of what I wanted my breasts to look like after, and Leeanne (patient care coordinator) and Dr. Pittman helped me to realize that my goals were not realistic, but didn’t make me feel embarrassed, judged or ridiculed. Instead, they walked me through options that would be better suited for me, and as soon as he showed me a size and shape implant that I fell in love with, I knew it would only be a matter of time before I fell even more in love after the procedure was done. Dr. Pittman’s bedside manner is also amazing, the day of surgery, after being prepped for the OR, he did something totally unexpected. He asked me who my favorite singer was and my favorite song from that artist. When I was escorted into the OR, the song was playing, and it made me feel more relaxed and comfortable. He made sure that I knew he cared about me, knowing how bad my anxiety could get. I fell asleep to my favorite song playing, and I woke up with my new girls!! The only discontent I had with Dr. Pittman is that I feel like he could have spent a little bit more time with me. I don’t blame him though, because I could have asked more questions, but since I had already done a sh*t ton of research, there wasn’t anything that he either didn’t already answer himself, or the research I did helped me with. After being home for a few hours, one of my nurses called me to make sure I was doing well, which again, was not expected but VERY appreciated. I had a concern later that day, and had an after hours number to call and spoke with someone who said he was going to forward my message/concern to Dr. Pittman, and again, to my surprise, Dr. Pittman personally called me within two minutes of me hanging of for his after hours answering service (a real person.) He reassured me that what I was experiencing was normal, and gave me tips on how to alleviate what I was experiencing. All in all, this express definitely worth it. I would recommend Dr. Pittman to anyone of any age who is considering any type of breast procedure. Even his social media presence helped me to solidify the the decision to have him as my surgeon. I will update as I progress through this healing journey.
