WORTH IT

I'm so overjoyed with my decision! I have been wanting a boob job since I was a teenager. At first I still hoped that they'd come in naturally as all the woman in my family have large breasts, however it just never happened for me.

I'm 27, I've never been pregnant and therefore never breastfed so my breasts were never affected by anything like that, they've just always been naturally small.

My left breast has always been bigger. My left is usually about a B cup while my right is an A. (Band 32). I have scoliosis, and earlier this year I discovered the left side of my rib cage has now pushed forward so my left boob suddenly looked even larger than the right - when I'd wear bras, my left breast would be pushing against the bra a lot whereas there'd be a massive gap between my right breast and the bra. It was also pointed out that the muscle tissue in the left breast was starting to deteriorate, so I was losing the one boob I was somewhat happy with!

I'd been saving to buy a house, but was now very unhappy with my appearance. Clothes never looked right and I just didn't feel womanly, so I decided to look into breast augmentation. I'd been looking into it on and off for a few years already and had managed to narrow it down to a handful of clinics. Then I started looking into what kind of implants I wanted and what kind of look I wanted and managed to narrow things down to two clinics.

I booked an appointment with a company called MyBreast who are absolutely amazing. I could not recommended them enough. I could choose which of their surgeons I wanted to meet, but I just went with the one that was available on my next day off, which was Dr Samer. We had a virtual consultation in July where I described the end look I wanted to achieve (very natural; not large boobs a C at most as I just wanted to have boobs but I didn't want people to be able to tell I'd had surgery). I explained that I'd seen anatomical breast implants but was worried about the risk and he told me all about the Motiva Ergonomix breast implants and sent me a link to look into them more. Overall I left the first consultation feeling much more informed and confident that this was what I wanted.

My second consultation, was in August, and this time I travelled to London to meet him in person. We went back over everything again, he took a look at my breasts now and took some measurements then I tried on some sizers. We both agreed that 205cc was the size for me, I definitely didn't want to go any bigger as I was already thinking they may be too big but I'd seen so many people say they'd wished they'd gone larger that I stuck to that size rather than going smaller. Dr Samer showed me before and after pictures of other patients who had scoliosis who'd had the procedure done and also other patients who didn't have scoliosis but that had the same size and type implants as me. I found this really nice and helpful as I could see other people like me who had had the procedure and how it would effect the end result (which Dr Samer had already described the possible outcomes to me).

After this I immediately booked and paid for my surgery date. I had two weeks booked off work in November as I'd planned to go on holiday for my birthday (15th) before COVID made me decide to postpone for a year. So, I booked the procedure date to be in the middle of my work holiday (20th) so that I could isolate for a week before and still take a week off of work after the procedure without them wondering why.

Arriving at the hospital I felt a mixture of excited and nervous. I got there at 7am with two other patients and all the staff were so lovely that they really helped me to feel at ease. I got into my hospital wear and had my blood pressure taken etc, had to take a pregnancy test and answer questions (mostly about allergies and the last time I ate and drink etc). Then I met with the anaesthesiologist who asked me some more questions and explained what would happen. Next I saw Dr. Samer who explained he had the sizers wed agreed on but also a size larger and a size smaller so he could see in surgery which would suit my frame best, which is what wed agreed he'd do. He also asked if I wanted a different size in the right one and I decided that no as it's always been naturally smaller and I want a natural result I'd have the same size sizer unless in surgery he thinks it'll look too different. By the time I had seen everyone and was ready to go it was about 8am.

One of the other patients was down to go before me, so then I just had to wait but I was told it would be about 10/10:30 that I'd be sent down to the theatre.

I was called down at about 10:15 and as I was down there I remember them putting the cannula in and putting different things into it and the anaesthesiologist was saying how calm I was and then the nurse was talking about my tattoos, and the next thing I knew I was waking up in a different room and the op was all done. Apparently I was out of the operating theatre at just gone 12, but it took me over an hour to come back around.

The whole rest of the day I struggled to stay with it and kept dozing off. After they had wheeled me back to my room I threw up (which is apparently quite common if it's the first time you've been under general anesthesia), and they made sure I had something to eat and a lot to drink. Before they let you leave you have to have peed so they can make sure you can and that it comes out okay (though they don't stand in the room with you luckily), this all went fine for me though I did throw up again once I got back to my room. I was discharged by about 5:30pm, it would have been sooner but because I kept falling asleep and throwing up it took longer than normal.

I didn't feel any pain the day of the op but the following day I felt stiff, though still not sore. However I still felt massively out of it. I passed out a couple times the day after and had a seizure (it's not the first time I've had one). So I spent the rest of the second day in bed.

2 days post op and I felt much better in terms of sickness/dizziness. I was finally able to snap some pictures of my breasts as I really wanted to document my journey so I can see how they 'drop and fluff'.

I was struggling a lot to stay sleeping on my back when I was in the hotel room but I got back to my own bed last night and it was much easier.

I had my 1 week post op appointment with a nurse yesterday before I left London too. As Dr Samer had used surgical glue rather than stitches, I've been allowed to shower from before this appointment and there was no dressings to change so the appointment was just to make sure the incision areas were clean and to explain some feelings I might experience in the coming days/weeks (pins and needles in the boobs or shooting pains, the pins and needles are due to feeling coming back and the shooting pains are where the nerves are starting to reattach.

I struggle to move my arms certain ways, and getting up from being led down - regardless of if I'm led flat or propped up - hurts quite a bit but otherwise I'm not in pain. There's tightness to the chest and the incision area can feel tight but that's all so far.

I've attached pictures of me pre-op and 2 days post op in and out of my surgical bra.

I'll do a separate post with pictures of me 1 week post op.

Hi there! Can I ask which profile you went for? The mini or demi?
January 5, 2022
Hi, they're the demi :)
January 5, 2022
They look very nice and natural. I’m currently deliberating between a mini and Demi profile as I only want to go up one cup size
January 6, 2022
I only wanted to go up one cup size too, two cup sizes at a maximum. I had a bra fitted today and I was measured to be a 32C whereas before I was a 32B so I have only gone up the one size now that they've settled

Pictures from today. Maybe it's my imagination but I can already see a difference from 5 days ago. I can't wait for them to have fully settled.

I forgot to mention before as well, but I'm 5ft1 and about 7st.

2 weeks post op

Things are so different from last week. They don't look too different, I don't think but they feel so different.
I can lean forward now without feeling like my boobs are separating from my body for starters and they no longer make odd noises when I move! They were never super painful, more uncomfortable. They don't even feel like that anymore just feels tight around the incisions and I've started to get shooting pains in my nipples and they've gone very sensitive (before the op I had pretty much no feeling in my nipples so this is a very strange feeling for me).
Best of all, they're starting to soften now! If I squeeze them there is give to the skin, whereas there wasn't a couple days ago. Still not completely there and they still don't move with my body yet but I don't expect that yet. Can wait to see what they'll be like in another 2 weeks.

December 24, 2021
Thank you! That's so good to hear, it freaked me out so much and I worried they'd always do it!! :'D
December 18, 2021
Did you put them over the muscle or under ?
December 24, 2021
I had them under the muscle as I'm slimmer and also because it gives a more natural result
