I'm VERY HAPPY with Dr. Fryer's talented work!
TLDR: I'm a 32-year-old mom who says, "If you're expending a LOT of mental energy about getting it done and you know enough about the financial cost and physical effects of recovery, then GO FOR IT! Dr. Fryer will give you amazing results!!"
The Consultation: I'm a shy-prudish kinda gal--on top of being non-existent in the chestal area--so I was nervous about the whole exposing-any-part-of-myself-experience, but the staff and nurses are down-to-earth real people who treat you kindly and have the whole system designed very comfortably for never-[RS bleep] like me. Dr. Fryer is very professional with his gigantic calipers and measuring tape--things that make the process feel very sterile and scientific, but really--what are those numbers for?? If they're just for show, it works great to make the awkwardness of nudity dissipate. He never tells you and you never get those numbers interpreted into anything--even when he uses his computer to educate you with diagrams and vocabulary. They don't measure you post-op, either, so I vote that it's just to look credible and not really for comparison purposes or for your own reference. Didn't matter much to me, but it made it all FEEL very credible, professional, and expertly!. . . Sold!
Pre-Op Appointments: Everything was comfortable and great, although they do cleverly slip in a little marketing for their neighboring company--Clarity Skin--which Dr. Fryer also owns. So decide before hand if you really are interested in treatments because after they walk you over there to THAT place (because the nurse can't go get your free scar gel by herself), you'll feel SUPER UGGO in two seconds flat in front of their GORGEOUS-skinned employees who give you a tiny tube of one of their products while LOOKING BORED of your plain face. That was a teency bit deflating... but hey, I'm in this for the boobs, right?? Shake it off, and worry about your homely face later! Trying on implant sizes in front of the nurse is an awkward but understandable necessity. One nurse told me I could pick any size I wanted but another nurse at the next fitting, when I was debating sizing up, told me the particular size I was trying on was my limit according to Dr. Fryer's instructions. (So maybe those measurements DO mean something?? I'll never know…) But I truly was comfortable with the size I chose and didn't really want to size up anyway, so it all worked out.
Surgery and all the related procedure was excellent! You will feel safe, adequately prepared, and comfortable the entire time. They even present you with a thoughtful and luxurious gift to go home with you after your surgery (I'll refrain from spoiling the gift for you and leave that to be a mystery). Dr. Fryer personally called to check in later that day, and his nurse Shandell was super-friendly the next day. Dr. Fryer was not kidding when he said Victoria Secret would totally help me out in the bra-fitting process--they really did make it easy! Tamere at the South Towne location literally sized me perfectly on the first try!
Week 1-2 Post-Op.: You will mostly hurt. A lot. And your back will ache. A lot. I bought a post-surgery sleep wedge system for my bed before-hand and that was really helpful because my boobs apparently didn't ever want me to lay on my back or my side for those first couple weeks. So buy one. And also, *hope* that your housework will just magically get done while you can't lift, push, or move anything during your 6 week weight-restricted recovery.
3 month Post-Op.: By now, you'll definitely feel that hope-for confidence and your body will feel fully recovered. One exception may be that strength training is a lot WEIRDER-feeling now as your muscles will contract over your implants, but I'm learning to ignore it and hoping that I will feel as strong as I used to as more time passes. You'll be more comfortable with the staff as you've seen them a few times now (Hi Courtney, Hi other lady at the front desk with super white teeth, Hi Nina, Hi Jennifer, Hi Shandell, Hi other nice nurse-ladies whose names I can't remember). Photos get taken at this final appointment. Dr. Fryer will come in and tell you your boobs are fantastic (yeah yeah, thanks,…I paid you to say that) and to come back in ten years for a new set.
If you have nothing but online reviews to base your decision from like I did, you will not be disappointed with choosing Premier Plastic Surgery. Dr. Fryer is kind, professional, and very personable. I will definitely choose them again in the future!
