Thin Patient, Hourglass Shape

I am pretty fit 5'7, about 136 lbs so not that much extra fat on me. I've always had a square-ish butt and carried my fat around my midsection. I wanted to get a BBL to get a more hourglass figure. I also had a little bit of fat on my upper back that looked like a hump that i wanted to get rid of. I had a couple of consults in the Bay Area, but the doctors either didn't want to touch the upper back or didn't have enough experience doing BBL surgeries to make me feel comfortable.
Consultation
I had an initial phone consult with Dr. Hazani. He asked to see pictures of my stomach and back to make sure I was a good candidate, which I was. He said doing the upper back fat removal would be no problem. I saw that he had done a bunch of BBL procedures before and had great results so I decided he was the right doc for me. Nayely and Gary were great at coordinating the surgery dates and deposit payments.
Preparation
I didn't do anything super special to prepare. I ate low sodium foods for a few weeks before surgery and cut out caffeine and alcohol just in case. I also bought some extra ab and back boards on Amazon to help with swelling, and puppy pads since I was staying at an Air b&b and din't want to leave a mess. I had my final pre-op appointment the day before surgery to go over what to expect again. I also decided to get lipo on my arms since I carry some fat there genetically. Now that I'm 4 months post-op, I can confirm that the results Dr. Hazani described were exactly what I got. I have a much more hourglass shape because of the fat he injected into my hips and my hip dips are pretty much gone.
Surgery
On the day of surgery. Dr. Hazani marked me up and took before pictures. Then I met with the anesthesiologist, it was pretty stress free, I just remember chatting with people in the operating room and then waking up in recovery all of a sudden. My sister helped me get back to our air b&b. I was pretty lightheaded from the meds, so definitely needed someone to lean on while walking around. Dr Hazani saw me two days after and told me that the procedure went well and that he was able to inject 600 ccs into each side of my butt.
Recovery
The first few days were pretty tough because there was a lot of swelling and bruising and I think my body was trying to deal with all the trauma. However, I was able to go off the prescription pain meds in 2 days even though I was still pretty uncomfortable. I went back home a few days after surgery and started getting lymphatic drainage massages which help a lot to break up the swelling. If you are in the Bay Area, I highly recommend Diane at Synergy Bodycare by the way. I was still eating pretty healthy, low-sodium foods for a couple of months after surgery and my recovery went pretty smoothly, Diane said that I was recovering much faster than most iipo patients she has seen. My bruising was gone in about 2-3 weeks. I still felt a some numbness and soreness for a couple of months after the surgery, but nothing too crazy. Also, I wore the compression garment Nayely gave me for 3 months and got a second one on Amazon so I could rotate between the two. I had a standing desk at work and avoided sitting for 6 weeks after surgery, my coworkers knew all the details of what was going on so it wasn't too awkward.
For me, the procedure was completely worth it. My clothes fit so much better now. I lift weights very regularly and do 2 heavy leg days every week but I don't think I would have ever achieved the same results without surgery just because of the way my glute muscles are shaped. I'm considering going back to Dr. Hazani and getting lipo on my legs and getting a little more fat transfer because Dr. Hazani said that my butt still has some room for fat. I also had a tiny bit of fat left on my lower stomach, maybe an inch in diameter, which he offered to remove for free. I think that the only bit of advice I'd give someone like me who doesn't have too much extra fat is to get as much taken out as you can the first time. Dr. Hazani isn't the kind of doctor to push extra procedures on you if he thinks you'll have a good result with just the procedure you came in for. So if you think you might want something else done in the future, just see if it's safe to do it all in one go. Good luck!
