Day 10 Post

Doing great just sore in my back like my ribs are broken. Can not find a comfortable place to sit and I’ve tried everything. The faja’s they give right after surgery that I thought were bad then are my favorite now. I purchased 2 for $60 each and had one altered to put zipper on right side so I can put on myself-$8 and worth it. I’m in large and think I could use an xl- when I told the nurse at the house I think they figured me wrong because mine was too tight she just started to laugh- not in a bad way but I’m a girl welcome to doing what it takes to get what you want kind of laugh. They are really tight under my breasts and armpits so I put pads there. On my front incision and back where we still have to release the fluid. We today started once daily instead of 2. Itching itching itching- everywhere and you cannot satisfy AT ALL. I took my faja off last night for maybe 2 hours but I doubt that long and couldn’t wait to put it back on- in my head I feel like it’s holding me together. Oh and the best part is I already kind of look like there is a six pack down there. That was just a bonus blessing!!!

Day 7 pics

Pictures are worth a thousand words.

Leaving recovery house 1 week early due to corona pandemic- they were closing international travel the day after I left. #scary

So I am not fully recovered, not ready to leave the house with such wonderful care and definitely not ready to carry things on a flight 5 days after surgery! Also don’t want to be stuck in another country if I could have gone home early. So my flight would be- Colombia to FLL, FLL to Dallas, Dallas to Lake Charles- that’s way too many airports time and exposure. And I have the best family- my husband and sister drove 15 hours to come bring me home from FLL. 15 each way! I sat back and thought how blessed I am to not only have one but two people that were not only willing- but they did it. Thank you Jesus! The ride home sucks as little as possible with me only being uncomfortable because that’s just how I feel right now. Little gross true story- my back is still draining and has been on its own today without massage. I’m really numb down there so I can’t feel down there- so after store 2 and second pee break I realize that I am soaked in my faja and all the pads- super soaked and cannot go all the way home. I walk to the truck and everyone stares at me like I have something from my laser facial- FYI it does look crazy and I was a little tempted to screw with people. Get to the truck and tell me man I need his help and he says what’s up. He took my clothes off in backseat and made a large pad out of paper towels and drained all the fluid, cleaned me up with wipes and got me dressed. Now I just stay in the truck and pee in a big truck- much better.
