Amazing Experience & Results

I had Lipo 360, fat transfer to my breasts, and a skinny BBL w/ Dr. Del Vecchio last week. My initial consult w/ Dr. Del Vecchio was very good - he was straight forward and honest about what I can and cannot expect. I had to gain weight for the procedure, and he gave me some advice on how to do this quickly and easily. The whole team was very communicative prior to my procedure (mainly by text, which I appreciated given my busy schedule - I can almost never pick up the phone). The nurse anesthetist even called me the night before my procedure to go over everything and answer any questions I had. I was very nervous the morning of my procedure but the nurse anesthetist put my at ease by talking about anesthesia techniques and drugs (I am a veterinarian, so I enjoy talking about this kind of thing). The other surgical assistant/nurse was great as well, very kind and accommodating (I asked him to take my to the bathroom to pee about 50 times). Dr. Del Vecchio examined me again, and discussed my goals and the surgical plan again to make sure we were on the same page, and then drew on me with marker which also made me feel very good (maybe physically seeing the plan drawn on my body put me at ease). Then I was given an IV catheter and some amazing drugs and don't remember anything other than waking up and feeling a little tender but overall good. My husband drove me home (I don't remember much of this either), and the first day I mostly rested. I had 2 JP (bulb/suction) drains in, which I had to empty a lot the first 36 hrs, but then the draining slowed. Both the nurse anesthetist and Dr. Del Vecchio texted me to check in the day after my procedure, and answered a few questions I had. My recovery was mostly uneventful, but I did have a concern on day 5 post-op, on EASTER SUNDAY. I texted Dr. Del Vecchio and within 3 MINUTES he responded, and helped me with my concern (and seemed happy to do so, even on a Sunday, and a Holiday!). I just had my drains removed today (day 7) and am feeling very good. I am IN LOVE with my results so far! I still have some swelling and bruising, but can already see my beautiful new body shape. I have been self-conscious about my uneven hips and buttocks my whole life (results of a vascular condition in my right leg, making that leg 2 inches shorter). My shape is perfectly symmetrical - even though symmetry can never be guaranteed with plastic surgery, Dr. Del Vecchio nailed it. My breasts are full and my waist is smaller as well. Thank you so much to the entire team at Back Bay Plastic Surgery!

The surgeon recommended about 5 lbs of weight gain, which equates to a 17,500 calorie excess, or 8,750 calories per week for 2 weeks. He suggested 12 mozzarella sticks every day for 2 weeks, in addition to my normal food intake. I have chronic GI issues, and can't have a lot of cheese, so I split the calories over 3 weeks, and made daily packs of food. My packs had 1/2 cup trail mix (300 calories), 2 mozzarella sticks (180 calories), and 2 Reese's peanut butter cup eggs (360 calories) - so, a total of 840 calories per pack. It was surprisingly difficult to eat the packs and still eat all my normal food, but I just made sure to eat something every 2 hours so I didn't feel too full. On the days I couldn't eat it all, Five Guys milk shakes helped a lot too. :)

More pics!

Some more photos of results from 3 days post-op, and a new photo of my BBL. I am 1.5 weeks post op now, swelling is almost gone, bruising fading a lot. The liposuctions sites feel very strange - not too painful, just some burning and tingling, but it still feels like it is not my own skin. This is normal - the skin is basically torn away from the underlying fascia during liposuction, so the nerves take some time to heal.

~5 weeks update

Just under 5 weeks post-op. Lipo sites still feel a little weird - tender but also numb at the same time (still does not quite feel like my own skin, although this is improving every day).

New BBL photo taken yesterday - I placed my underwear exactly at my hip bones, so you can see the marked incongruity in my bone structure (right leg 2 inches shorter so right hip sits much lower). My BBL was done to improve symmetry and add lateral projection (wider hips). My butt in general is also more plump and has a much better shape. I am VERY happy with the results so far, and am looking forward to final results after the "fluffing" stage. I am still using my BBL pillow when sitting, and although I am not strict anymore about sleeping, I am trying to sleep mostly on my stomach with pillows placed to avoid pressure on my breasts as well. My breast cup size increased by 1 size after the procedure (small B to large C/small D depending on brand). Photo in my new push up bra taken today. You can still see a little irregularity on my stomach from the lips but it is about 70-80% healed.
