My experience- Surgery process and aftercare
Pre-op: Appt was very quick, not much was discussed besides telling them I was getting lipo/bbl. They said they would discuss Exparel, Cell saver, blood for a transfusion and Jplasma before I left.
Noone said a word about any of those things to me.
I was then told that the details of surgery would be discussed the day of.
The day of surgery: After waiting outside for about 20 minutes after my appointment time, I was finally brought inside where I gave a urine sample and rushed to take all of my clothes off, put a gown on, IV in and spoke with the anesthesiologist. A few moments later, Dr. Mendieta came in to mark me up. This is the time where I was told we would discuss my preferences on shape, size etc. At my pre-op appt he told me we would go over all of the details, look at my wish pics together and show my current pictures on a screen where he would edit them to give use an idea of what he would do/changes he will make and what it will look like. None of that happened. He spent literally around 3 minutes with me, looked at one wish pic, told me it was a nice picture but did not ask what I liked about it or any questions. Then poof, he was gone. The nurse took me down the hallway to the surgery room where they cleaned me and laid me on the table. The anesthesiologist came in and told me he was going to give me something in my IV to "relax me", and I was immediately out.
I woke up shivering and in the most pain I have ever experienced in my life. I remember repeating. I'm so cold, it hurts, I'm cold, it hurts. I kept asking for water or apple juice, I was completely ignored. The nurses were not kind, at all.
At this time I could not open my eyes but i could hear the nurse on the phone calling my recovery house to come get me.
Then they were pushing on my stomach (not sure why), ripped out my IV and sat me up in the bed.
There were two other women in the same recovery room as me who had just woken up, wondering if they had surgery at the same time as me? I went in at 7:30am and was in the recovery room by 12pm.
1st post-op appt: None of the staff was very friendly, it was crowded and very busy. My hemoglobin dropped from a 14.4 to a 9.3, they said it was fine. They did not take my blood pressure or vitals. Sent me on my way.
48 hours after surgery: I was in the hospital for 20 hours with a low hemoglobin and a BP of 83/56. Dangerously low. I was given a unit of blood and 3 bags of saline.
This ER trip cost me over 35k. Had the office given me the opportunity to save blood for a transfusion or cell saver, I would not of ended up in the ER with a ridiculous bill that I will never be able to pay.
2nd post op appt: Before this appt, I informed the staff about my ER visit. When I got there,
I had to wait outside in the heat for 40min because it was so busy. No vitals or hemoglobin was taken, I mention my ER visit, they had no idea about it even though I called and told them what happened. Noone seemed to care. Absolutely insane.
Overall: Very unhappy with the whole experience, the staff and the doctor himself.
My results, I am learning to like my butt. I love my hips and my shape already but hoping over time, my butt will drop and change. If I had to do it all over again, I would definitely choose a different doctor and facility though.

Very Rushed Process and Disappointed for the Price
The entire process was verrrrrry rushed. I wasn't asked about exactly what I was wanting in terms of size or shape. I was never offered Jplasma, Exparel, Cell saver, etching or blood for a transfusion.
