Horrible Experience, Lost $7300 and Got No Surgery.

$7,300

I contacted Goals about wanted a Brazilian butt lift on 01/16/20. One of my very first questions was if I could get the surgery being prescribed methadone, I was assured that it wasn’t a problem. I gave them a $500 deposit that day (01/16/20) and signed a contract, my surgery date was booked for 03/31/20 and was to be performed by Dr.Lotempio. I had my medical clearance sent from my doctor 02/04/20 which also indicated I was on methadone. I was assured that my clearance was reviewed and cleared by their doctor before continued to make payments. They had dead lines for payments or you would be fined additional money so i made a payment for $3400 on 02/29/20. Then on 03/17/20 they gave me a two week post appointment, where I had to go to their office in Brooklyn to have my BMI checked prior to the surgery, where I paused the remainder of my balance $3400 in cash. I was contacted the next day 03/18/20 by goals saying they were canceling my surgery due to me being on a prescription of methadone which they knew about the whole time. They wouldn’t give me a option to stop the medication prior to the surgery or possibly not take pain meds after, and every time I called them about a refund of my $7300 they say they will call me back within 24-48 hours and never do, I’ve literally called everyday for a month, I’ve talked to supervisors and they all say the same thing they have to call me back and just keep telling me whatever to get me off the phone. I know I paid goals but if Dr.Lotempio actually reviewed my medical clearance and told me I didn’t qualify medically for the surgery in the 6 weeks she had my clearance before a payment was due, I wouldn’t of got robbed.

I’m going thru the same thing kinda, they gave me a price and I paid my 500 deposit based on the agreed date, and they made a mistake in the promotion date and said I had to pay the full cost of 5800 or I would lose my 500 as well.
Needless to say I lost 5800 and got not surgery they wouldn’t even allow me to switch from lipo360 to a breast lift. They just took my money.

This place is a scam

I called goals in Jan 2020 inquiring about a BBL, I'm currently prescribed and taking methadone, I asked if I still qualified for the surgery while on this medication and I was assured it was fine. I proceeded to leave a $500 deposit. I got medical clearance and blood work done and faxed over feb 4th 2020, once again stating I was in complete health but on methadone. I received a phone call saying they received my blood work, and was told a doc would be looking over it and they would get back to me feb 29th I was due to pay half my balance of $3,500 I called over 10 times in the weeks prior to make sure I was going to be approved for he surgery before I made any more payments . I was told the doctor would def be looking over it before then, on another call I was told that no news is good news and if they didn't call me then I was fine, also to not worry because even if I didn't qualify for the surgery I would receive a full refund if the surgery was canceled due to medical issues. I continued to make the payment, then two weeks before my surgery date. I took off of work found a baby sitter and drove a hour and 45 min to my two week pre op to get my BMI checked at the Brooklyn office , I arrived a half hour early and was told the girls already left but I could come back tomorrow. I explained that would be very inconvenient for me and asked if they could just check my height and weigh me since that was apparently what the appointment was for, I was told they couldn't do it but I could drive to the Harlem location that at that time of day would take a additional 45 min drive. Before I left I paid my current balance of $3500 in cash , I continued to drive to harlem building to have to wait and additional hour and a half to be weight and have height checked. The next day (not 24 hours after I paid in full) i received a phone call stated they canceled my surgery due to the fact I'm on methadone, didn't say there was anything I could do to resolve the issue. I was devastated, for the next 2 weeks I called and sent e-mail trying to find out if there was something I could do like not taking my medication prior to surgery or not being on narcotics during surgery, I was told there's nothing I can do I can't get the surgery and to call billing about a refund. It's been a month and a half since of me calling everyday to just keep getting the run around, being told they will call me back, that supervisor will call me back, that the head of billing will call me, each time they tell me to wait 24-48 hours and no one ever calls. Since this has happened and I've seen other reviews I notice this is something the do often and that I will be lucky if I get my $7300 back. I'm a single mother who has been saving that money for years for this surgery. I can't believe that a high end surgery office can get away with stealing from patients. Please do your research before you give a dollar to this place, check out the complaints on the better business bureau website.

I would suggest you contact your bank for a chargeback
Contact the Attorney Generals office and make a formal complaint in writing with receipts that you paid and any emails showing the return policy if surgery is cancelled. You will get your money back. If that doesn't work... which it should. Go to small claims court and file law suit. Best wishes.
Thank you for the advice
