9 week update - lumps :(
PetiteBBLGirlJuly 11, 2018
WORTH IT$13,000
So my worst fear about this surgery came true. I have hard lumps and irregularity all around my stomach and flanks. I was super diligent about wearing my compression garment AND the foams (to avoid creasing) for the full 6 weeks. I actually kept wearing it 24/7 through week 8 and now wear it at night. But now that the swelling is nearly completely gone, I can see a bunch of hard lumps on my flanks :( and discoloration (looks like bruising) that makes everything look very uneven. I’m learning that these hard lumps are scar tissue and unavoidable. Some people may develop them more than others. But what I didn’t know is that if I had started massaging them much sooner, they may not be as bad :( anyway - really bummed and I can’t show my belly in public or wear a bikini. It’s awful. I’ve started going o a massage therapist who is using a cupping technique to contour the area and break down the scar tissue. Sh thinks we can get it to look better, but it will likely take me 20+ weeks and another $1000. How disappointing.

Overall I’m very happy with my results - especially with clothes on.
On the side view it can see the lower abdomen distention I mentioned earlier. This is in a completely fasted state (noon, no eating since 7pm night before). So I don’t think it’s bloating. It’s either diastis recti or visceral fat :( hoping to flatten this out with diet and exercise.
What looks like lumps on my sides is just skin coloration (bruising still?) or shadows. It’s odd - I’m hoping these splotches will even out as well.
I do have some unevenness and lumps, but they are soft and due to swelling or having just taken off my garment.
But what a difference! I’m so embarrassed by my before photos. No wonder I was so self conscious before. I’m happy to have some confidence now!!

Did you ask Dass why is your stomach distended? Would it be still inflammation? Your back/butt looks great.
June 29, 2018
I did. He didn't really have any concrete answers. He agrees it could be diastis recti (I gained 50lbs when I was pregnant going from 98lbs to 148lbs!!) or visceral fat.

Have you seen the profile of slothstronaut? It looks like Dass only lipoed the area on top of her belly button section and nothing from the belly button down. He seems to be getting real sloppy/careless. Yours doesn't look like muscle separation or visceral fat either. Slothstonaut also complained of burning pain and swelling. Idk it seems like too many girls are giving him the benefit of the doubt and not seeing a resemblance.... hmmmm...

I really don't think my distention issue has anything to do with Dr. Dass. He did a full lipo on me - I have zero fat between my skin and muscle on my stomach. The distention is definitely something deep inside or from muscle separation. If you check out the photos for diastis recti, my stomach is very similar. Also if you look at all my before photos, I've always had this lower abdomen bulge - its just more obvious now that all the surface fat is gone.
Burning pain and swelling are the most common complaints of liposuction - it's just a fact and part of the healing process. 100% of lipo patients have this complaint. If you don't, then you didn't have lipo - lol.
I think the part that is misrepresented about having a BBL surgery is the liposuction recovery. Being released to do full activities and sit and such at 6 weeks DOES NOT mean you are fully healed! Liposuction takes 8-12 months to completely heal from. I didn't know this before. The liposuction areas are definitely the most difficult in terms of pain and swelling and healing. I didn't expect it. When you read that people have zero pain in their butt after a BBL, it's true. I never had any real pain...just uncomfortableness at the beginning from the swelling and my skin was stretched so tight. But no pain.
I'm definitely still swollen around my torso. They say you can expect the swelling from liposuction to be fully gone at 6-9 months. So....til then, I'll get back on my clean eating and exercise routine and keep ya'll updated on the bulge issue :)

I saw that. I hope she is too. I’m not sure why we’re looking at her though. She isn’t skinny/petite and her Dr was not Dr Dass? I’ve never heard of the doctor she went to (not that that means anything). But I’m hoping for her that it’s a lot of swelling. Remember you’re still 25% swollen even at 6 months after lipo so crossing my fingers for her.

Her surgeon IS Dennis Dass in Beverly Hiils, Ca. She even rated him 5 stars... i think laracee was simply pointing out that his work isnt perfect and worth looking into. Dass has been one of my top choices but i hate that he deletes negative comments on his social media. (Ex. "Tummy seems kinds lumpy" or "why is the skin still discolored after 1 year po?") The fact that he deletes these comments instead of addressing them, makes me question his work ethics.

Oh sorry when I originally searched it came up with her lipo review from 2017 that was a different doctor. I just saw her BBL review with Dass and still don’t get why anyone is judging Dass harshly based on her review? The last photos she posted were day 10. DAY 10 you guys! That isn’t representative at all of what your final results will be. I was still 2-3 inches bigger at every measurement and the most swollen I had ever been during recovery. Look at my 1wk and 3wk photos. I was still pretty unhappy with the shape then and expect most people are. The swelling is crazy and makes things look funny. My butt shape is perfect now :) I think Slothstronaut looks great for the stage she is in. Im excited to see how she progresses.
If Dass deletes the comments instead of addressing them like you say, I agree that isn’t the best way to handle it.
And yes, you definitely need to do your own research and choose the doctor that is the best fit for you. It’s a huge commitment in both time, money and pain...so it’ll mess with your head if you’re not confident in the doctor you’ve chosen.

We must understand that there’s no plastic surgery without the chance of horrific outcomes. I hope that we are conscious of this before signing up for any plastic surgery. Thanks to the internet now and to patients that are willing to share there experience we can make an educated decision on who to pick as our surgeon. Thanks PetiteBBL for sharing your experience with us. You are super petite and, I am sure that you are giving hope to others.
