I had a skinny BBL surgery done by Dr. Okoro on the 15th on April. Since so many reviews helped me become confident in my choice to get this surgery and to have Dr. Okoro as my surgeon, I want to help others by doing some light documenting, talking a bit about the process and my expectations, and showing my before and after. I’ll label the sections for easy searching.
STATS:
Age: 26
Height: 5’3
Weight on the day of Surgery: 112 lbs
Waist (before): 72 cm
Hips: (before): 89 cm
Waist (3 weeks post-op): 62 cm
Hips: (3 weeks post-op): 92 cm
Note: I traveled from out of town/state
Reason I wanted a BBL:
First, I want to start off by saying that my reason for getting a skinny BBL was because I wanted to improve my shape without losing weight. I used to be really skinny and didn't want to go back to that, but my genetics deposited throughout my body with more in my waist, unfortunately.
My Expectations:
I approached this surgery with very realistic expectations since I still did not have a lot of fat for any surgeon to work with, but I’d noticed Dr. Okoro has produces great results sculpting the best you. Overall, that’s what I wanted. A natural-looking, better me where I had a much tinier waste and any extra booty or hips would be a bonus if the fat survived. Be honest with yourself about your expectations so that you can be happy with your results. Dr. Okoro will be completely transparent with you—which I appreciate much more than a surgeon who might sell me false promises.
The Process:
—Initial virtual consultation ($75) on January 4th. I chose to go with Scarlett since at the time I was still unsure of what could be achieved. She’s amazing and will answer all of your questions while reviewing the photos that you upload prior to your consult.
—Deposit for holding my surgery date ($1K) Dr. Okoro is booked months in advance, so the next date was April 15th. I confirmed the date and paid the deposit a few days after my consult, when I was sure I’d have the surgery and had a plan in place for everything.
—Full amount due 15 days pre-surgery on April 1st. (My total amount for my BBL was $11,559, so I paid the remaining $10,559.)
—Virtual pre-op appointment on April 1st. I met with Griffon to discuss more pre-op, day of surgery, and post-op instructions and care. She’s super sweet and informative. She’ll give you a packet of material with everything you need to know.
—In-person pre-op appointment on April 14th. I met Dr. Okoro, who’s very kind, funny, direct, and informative. I never go to male doctors, but I was surprisingly comfortable with him. You can tell that he’s so experienced and at ease with surveying your body for his best plan of action while explaining everything along the way and asking if you have any questions. Dr. Okoro threw in my abdominal etching for free! You’ll recieve more pre-op/post-op materials to give to your caretaker and have for yourself, along with other items like the scar cream and skin products. You will most likely meet Scarlett, Griffon, Adaobi, and the other kind and upbeat women who are part of the team as well. Be even more at ease that there will always be at least one woman present with the surgeons.
—Surgery day you’ll come in early to get your garments/fajas tailored for you (cutting out the butt and/or hips) and have Dr. Okoro do the body markings for the operation. The team helping me get prepared were calming and kind. The anesthesiologist introduced herself and gave me something via IV to relax (I’m sure it’s part of the usual process since I was pretty calm and didn't have any nerves going in)—it did just that. Then they’ll we’ll you into the surgery room, give you an oxygen mask, and before I knew it, I was waking up on my stomach. Pretty sore, but feeling good and already in my garment, foam boards, and compression socks. They’ll wheel you out in a wheelchair (with you kneeling in it) to your caretaker and help you slide into the back seat while giving your caretaker some instructions.
My incisions were in my belly button area, pubic mound area, 1 in the center of my back, 1 In between my butt cheeks, 2 under each cheek hidden in the crease of the thighs. You can only see the one on the back (unless you’re close enough to see the ones above my vagina).
—Afterwards was a series of post-op checkup appointments where they’ll make sure everything is going as planned and they gave me my BBL pillow and binder. Also included was my 5 SmoothShapes sessions for the fabulous women in their MedSpa—Cameo did the majority of my sessions and is particularly amazing with going at your pain tolerance and answering your questions.
—I stayed in Atlanta nearby for 1 week with that time off from my job, and then about 2 hours away with my parents another week while working remote before returning to New Jersey (but I still work remote and will for a while because of the pandemic). I would recommend to any traveling, to stay for 2 weeks to avoid rushing healing and appointments. Minimum 1 week stay for traveling patients is mandatory (and for good reason). I wouldn't advise going back to an in-person job within 2 weeks.
Price (what was included):
—BBL surgery and costs associated with the surgery room, insurance, anesthesia, exparel (injected during surgery for pain)
—5 SmoothShapes sessions
—2 stage 1 post-op garments (you’ll need 2 so that you can wash one and wear the other)
—1 BBL pillow
—1 binder (for use with your faja after 2 weeks)
—scar cream
—post-op skin products
—abdominal etching
—post-op pain and anti-nausea meds
Overall:
I am in love with my new shape and the experience! I feel like I’m finally my best self body-wise thanks to Dr. Okoro and his phenomenal team. I expect to lose a little more hip/booty volume as residual swelling goes away, but I’ll still be satisfied with my tiny waist and any booty/hips left will be bonus!

6-month Virtual Appointment Pics
SabrinaNYCJanuary 16, 2022
Hi! I haven't been on in a while but I just wanted to add my 6-month post-op pics from my last virtual appointment. Everything looks beautiful and natural. As was expected, I had a little fat/volume loss but my waist also got tinier too. That's just a reminder to keep your expectations realistic and to remember that (from what I've researched and experienced) most slim BBLs have about a 60-75% fat survival rate once your body fully heals. Just like life, things most likely won’t be perfect but Dr. Okoro does an amazing job at getting close, keeping it natural, and keeping his patients SAFE. Please keep your health your number 1 priority when looking for a BBL surgeon.

Here are the pictures from the 6-month update! I forgot to add them and can't seem to edit that update. Honestly, I think I look great and natural despite the unavoidable loss of some volume. Let me know if you have any questions!
