Botched BBL & Near Death
I would highly suggest doing your research on this surgeon before proceeding with surgery.
I regretfully did not do this and followed an influencer who promoted him and I was left with an awful experience and botched results.
I came to see Dr Vasfi Celik for a BBL which entailed 360 liposuction and inner thigh liposuction. I arrived at Adana airport late in the night and waited over 30 minutes for my driver to arrive. We then drove 1 hour to Mersin and was checked into the hotel. Upon check in, my acquaintance (who was also scheduled for surgery) and I were taken aback when seeing our hotel room was a standard sized bedroom with two single beds and not the luxury apartment suite that was promoted by an influencer on TikTok. This room was not ideal for two women recovering from surgery. When asked if we could receive the room that said influencer had, we were asked to pay an additional $750 AUD.
The next day I received my post operation tests.
When speaking with the anaesthetist, I informed him that I take birth control, he said that I should have stopped this medication a month ago due to higher risk of blood clots.
I had told Dr Vasfi Celik’s representative the medications I was on when booking the surgery and she did not tell me to stop this medication.
When meeting Dr Vasfi Celik and speaking to him through his interpreter about surgery goals, I asked for HD Vaser Liposuction. He informed me that he only does traditional liposuction when performing a BBL. I felt this to be outdated and was hoping that I might achieve a similar result - I didn’t.
Come the morning of surgery, I got picked up at 6am and admitted into hospital. All was fine and well until I woke up from surgery screaming in agony. My entire body felt like it was on fire, I was given very minimal pain medication. The nurses and staff did not speak English so they did not know what was wrong and I wasn’t given pain medication until I was able to translate what I needed. When it was time to have my first meal, I had a lady who did not look like a nurse come in and bring me food but left it across the room and walked out. I was in no condition to be able to get up and collect my food so I had to call a nurse in to bring it to me.
I was in hospital for 3 days with drains and an IV.
The IV drip would constantly stop working, so for long periods of time I was not receiving my medicines. I asked for help on multiple occasions and was neglected. When the nurses did come they were rude and rough, they inflicted many bruises on my arm where they attempted to re inject my IV needle.
Once drains were removed, I asked about the necessary post op massages. To my surprise Dr Vasfi Celik did not believe in them until 2 weeks post op. Massages are vital for draining fluid from your incision sites post liposuction and are a key to your recovery.
Once back in my hotel room, something was off.
I had a high fever, was short of breath and had a lot of pain walking on my left leg. I contacted the representative and was taken to the clinic to be given pain medication through an IV drip. On my last day I saw Dr Vasfi Celik for the last time, he examined me, said everything was fine and sent me home with my fit to fly letter. The plane ride home was torture, I got more sick than I already was. Once I arrived home I examined my left leg, it was double the size of my right. I continued for the next couple of days with an incredibly high fever, night sweats, and feeling faint. I informed the representative through What’s App and sent a picture of my leg. The advice given was to start massages, that everything was normal. I finally took myself to the emergency room. I was diagnosed with CELLULITIS. A very deadly bacterial skin infection. I was in hospital for 3 days on an antibiotic drip and was told by Drs in Australia that I was lucky to be alive. I am traumatised that I was examined by Dr Vasif Celik whilst I had this infection and was given the okay to fly home. I could have died.
Once recovered and swelling had subsided, I could finally see my end result. Fat was injected into my lower back (this was confirmed by a plastic surgeon) and my bum was shaped like a square. I also noticed my inner thighs were a victim to botched liposuction. My legs do not match and I have a dent in my right inner thigh due to over correction. This has left me with a great deal of insecurity. Dr Vasfi Celik has offered to do a revision free of cost but I do not trust him to go back to him. The representative is very kind and did consistently check up on me while I was back in Australia. But would I recommend being operated by Dr Vasfi Celik? No I would not.
Please if you are reading this do not buy into the influences who promote him, they are the ones who get nice results and special treatment.
And also shame on the influencers who promote overseas surgeons to their following.
You are damaging lives just so you can receive discounted surgery, SELFISH.
