I've been researching this procedure for years, and I was surprised to find out that the BBL is now commonly done without the use of general anesthesia. Dr. Ver Halen was knowledgeable and professional, and his staff welcomed me with smiles. On the day of my consultation and subsequent visits, nurse Shayna made me feel completely comfortable. I could tell that she was a genuinely caring person. She even discussed with me procedures that she had done before. Dr. Ver Halen listened to my concerns and understood what I was looking for. I wanted to get rid of my muffin top and back rolls in exchange for a smaller waist and a more curvy figure with a natural look. He did just that. I am now almost three weeks post-op and recovering well. I am pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend Dr. Ver Halen for anyone seeking a BBL. As for the post-op experience, it was overwhelming at first because of limited mobility and the fact that I spent much of the day lying on my stomach. The drainage lasted only three days. On the fourth day, I was able to use large bandages to cover the incisions. The swelling of my arms and legs was the most frustrating. I ached all day long, but ibuprofen three times a day did help for that. For what it's worth, I regret not getting a bigger rump only because of the healing process and having to possibly avoid getting a touch up months down the line if I desired. But for now I'm loving my new hips and most of all no love handles!!!
