I had my bbl surgery with Dr Mendieta 8-12-18, 9 days post op today. I arrived in Miami the day before surgery, was picked up by my caregiver and taken to the recovery home.
The next morning I showered with antibacterial soap and we headed to the Mia clinic. I did pre op right before surgery ie:signed paperwork, gave urine sample (drug/preg test), height &weight were checked, fit for faja(compression garment). Then the time for surgery came, I got dressed with compression socks, hair net, & gown provided by the clinic. I met Dr Mendieta who was very nice and listened to what I wanted while marking me up. I showed him some wish pics and he was confident that he could deliver. And he did.
Afterwards the anesthesiologist came in and asked some background questions and told me what to expect and answered any questions I had. He inserted the IV that had water hooked up to it at that time. A few minutes later the anesthesiologist led me to the operating room where I laid on the table & a woman strapped both of my wrists to either side.
It was at that point I knew it was about to get real! The anesthesiologist said that he was administering the medicine and that it will feel like a hot sauce going in. I sure felt it and it definitely burned going in! He put the oxygen mask on me and that’s the last I remember before waking up on my back with a nurse standing at a computer next to me. I rolled over so quick to get off my butt. I was cold waking up from the anesthesia but they had a heat warming blanket on me that felt so good. I thought that that was a nice way to wake up.
I was in no pain which surprised me. I got up and walked to the car my caregiver was waiting for me in..didn’t need any help walking and laying in the back seat. I wasn’t dizzy or nauseous, just muscle soreness.
I ate soup and slept for most of the day other than getting up to pee which was frequent the first day like every hour or two at least. I stayed on top of my meds took Percocet every 4 hours which helped the stiffness. I could tell when it wore off because it was harder move being so stiff. My body felt sore like the day after an intense workout/night after sleeping wrong. I took stool softeners and had bowel movement on day 3.
As each day goes by I’m getting less stiff/sore but still tender to the touch. I’m most stuff in the morning.
I had 3 massages included in my package with Mia so the next day was my post op visit and massage. This is when I first got to take my faja off and see my results that I love. The massages hurt bc they’re squeezing fluid out. My wounds had to be opened on the 2nd and 3rd massages to allow the fluid to be released.
I flew home 6days post op. I got wheelchair service which was much better than walking like a turtle in the airport. On the flight I selected an exit row seat in the very front& stood most of the flight, only sat down on my booty pillow when the seat belt sign was on.(I let the flight attendant know I just had surgery) I’m back home and still wearing the foams, boards, faja. Can’t wait till I can stop wearing the foams and boards.
Sometimes I itch like crazy but I have Benadryl meds and cream to combat that.
Yes it was worth it and I’d do it all over again :)

Happy to hear it went so well for you and you love the results. I have also done a email and phone consultation with them. I am from Chicago and I am kind of scared of going out of town to do the surgery. But I have a question did they allowed you to go alone or did Mia required you to come with another person. If I get over the fear of doing the surgery so far, i was thinking about going alone.

I went alone and stayed at a recovery home. You will need a caretaker at least for the day of surgery you have to have someone there to pick you up right after surgery.m

Thanks for replying so fast! Yeah that's what i wanted to do but how did you get a caretaker? Does Mia have them for you to hire them or how did you find one? Thanks so much for your help!

No problem. There are a lot of different recovery homes to choose from. Mia can include it in your package through them or you can pick your own. The person from the recovery home is your caretaker. Most of them provide transportation to and from airport/appointments, 3meals a day, 24/7 care, supplies etc

Hello. I was wondering how you were liking your results as time goes on? I am going to be having surgery with him next month!

Hey. Check out my latest post ;) congrats and best wishes on your journey. You’ll be in talented and experienced hands. I will definitely go back to him if I want more procedures in the future. I’m amazed with my results

Wow You look amazing! Have you lost any weight since the surgery? And how long before you sat on your booty? Where are you strict with all of the postop care? Sorry so many questions LOL

Thank you! I’ve actually gained about 5lbs. I started to sit for short periods around 6weeks &gradually upt the amount of time. You’ll know when it feels comfortable..I still lean a little forward when I sit to keep the weight on my thighs. Wearing the faja and foams almost 24/7 was a struggle but I’d say that I followed most standard post op care instructions. I was driving with my pillow 10days post op though which isn’t recommended. Lol no problem I don’t mind answering
