Dr Luis Mejia is THE BEST!!!!!

I will be going back to Dr Meija for ANY surgeries in the FUTURE. I could not be happier!!!!!!

I have had a genetic disposition to a “ponch “ lower belly. Well, after massive weight fluctuations, the stresses of life & 2 csections later, I was left with a large excess of sagging creped skin that could not be covered by even the best clothing. I always felt self conscious.
Over several years, I have had my breasts done, lipo, bbl but never a tummy tuck.
Here’s where who I like to refer as, “Magic Hands Mejia” came in. I researched Board Certified Surgeons (he is double board Certified) and was willing to travel ANYWHERE in the world for the BEST Surgeon with the best track record & skill, who would give me the best result.
Dr Meija and his entire staff EXCEEDED ALL expectations ( and I have Incredibly high expectations).
My journey started with Lefny, Dr Meija’s Coordinator. She knows her stuff & was so thorough with every question. She is friendly, caring & organized. I LOVE Lefny :)
My husband was also involved in this process as I had convinced him to get work done. After seeing Dr M’s before and after pictures, my hubby was sold and wanted to move forward.
Ok, so I wanted a full tummy tuck, muscle repair, lipo of back, waist & flanks, arm lipo & bbl.
My husband wanted lipo of Waist, flanks and back ab etching and a bbl.
After sending in our photos, weight and height, we were given a quote.
We decided to proceed and from start to finish, there were no hiccups in the process.
We had all of our blood work done by our family physician, booked our surgery dates, booked our flights, accommodation (Lefny can recommend Recovery House options but we chose a hotel).
We flew from Vancouver, Canada to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
We were immediately greeted by Moises, who is probably one of our favourite people on the planet as well. He works directly for our surgeon so we payed a one time fee and he took care of all of our primary driving needs from beginning to the end of our trip.
We drove directly to Have our blood work, chest x-ray and to Cecilip clinic. It is beautiful inside & immaculately clean. The staff everywhere in the building are friendly as well.
Meeting Dr Meija was like a dream. He has such a warm and gentle manner and at the same time, is incredibly organized. He does not try to “upsell” you on additional surgeries (which I have found in the past with other Dr’s) and gives you realistic expectations based on what you want. He ensured he knew any allergies I have, medicines I take etc and was very thorough with my form.
Dr Meija’s number one priority is SAFETY. Very impressive, not more money but SAFETY.
We were told we could eat up until 10:00pm, and Moises brought us to our hotel. We were told to come in for 6:30am. Well, overnight, there was a tropical thunderstorm which left the streets flooded but our driver was still there (to our surprise) at 6:00am, right on time.
We were escorted to the pre-surgery waiting room which felt like a palace. I wish I took photos but we were both just too excited!
(Side note: my surgery ended up being quite long so David’s surgery was pushed forward to first thing the next morning)
I was brought into a beautiful large room my IV was placed and I was given the “Magic Blue Pill”......OMG, I LOVE that pill. Within about half an hour, I felt like I was floating in the clouds, absolute bliss.
They wheeled me down into the OR and the next thing I remember, I’m awake, in almost zero pain and in my lovely room.
My husband stayed with me & throughout the night, I was checked on by the Dr and nurses. I was given an iron shot and spent most of the evening sleeping.
Now, included in my package was a one night stay in their hospital with nurse which I received as promised. Instead of sending me off the next day, they allowed me to stay and rest. The nurses fed me, called me Princess & were truly just wonderful.
My husband was wheeled in late afternoon and we had side by side beds and were just in heaven.
Dr Meija came and brought me a big beautiful rose, kissed my cheek and continued to check on both of us during our stay.
We were discharged the next day with instructions for Postop, postop Pain meds and antibiotics.
For the next 14 days, we went back to be checked at the clinic every 3 days to ensure our bodies were healing properly which they were.
Another thing which I m thrilled about is the fact that Dr Meija does Local as opposed to General Anaesthesia. I mean it when I say, this has by far been the easiest recovery I have had of all of my surgeries. I adore my new body. I’m not even a Month Postop and am already seeing the “muscle indentation line” down my abs. My waist went from 36inches to 29 & continues to shrink.
My husband loves his new round, firm booty and the abs he had never had before. Dr Meija is a Genious and I will be going back to him next year for ab etching as well.
