From Day 1 to ~3 Weeks in on Recovery
My decision:
I've been wanting a BBL for probably three years and decided to really research the procedure last November. I would call Dr. Dass's office every now and then for information and Angela/Jessica would always be so informative and helpful. I was researching different doctors and eventually chose Dr. Dass because I didn't want to wait 1+ years to get the surgery. I called the office in January of 2021 to get the earliest date possible and luckily for me, that date was only a week away. I booked my appointment, got my pre-op appointment, which was the day before the surgery date, and was good to go.
Pre-op:
It was straightforward. I came with my covid testing results, did a urine sample, and answered some questions. Dr. Dass then came in and discussed his plans with me and provided me with some medications and I was off.
Surgery day:
I came in at 11:30 am and according to my mom, was already done at 2:30pm. When I got there, I met the anesthesiologist and the nurses, got my IV done, got marked, and was led to the surgery room. It all took about 10 minutes. My mom and dad drove me home and I was laying on my stomach in the back seat, which wasn't uncomfortable because I was still under anesthesia and I just wanted to sleep.
The first two/three days:
When they tell you that the first few days were the worst, they weren't kidding. I wouldn't say that the pain made it the worst, it was really more of how uncomfortable everything felt. I had *the worst* time trying to sleep on my stomach because it hurt my neck like crazy and I couldn't get up on my own. For me, the worst part of the first few days were the sleeping arrangements, the nausea, and the uncomfortableness of the foams/pads/garments cause it was all new to me. The pain wasn't bad personally. When I think of pain, I think of someone cutting or stabbing me. This pain was more of like my brothers punching me for fun and I was left heavily bruised and tender all over. I was prescribed percocets and let me tell you, I took only ONE and I threw that bottle in the cabinet. I survived the surgery on tylenol alone and that was for my neck pain and headaches from sleeping on my stomach. As expected, I drained a lot and had to change them every few hours but it went away completely after 3 or 4 days (the heaviest were the first 2 days).
On the third day, Dr.Dass lets you shower for the first time and he recommends you having someone help you. I didn't need any help and I didn't feel dizzy or lightheaded. I was very prepared to feel that way so I took deep breaths and took it slowly while I was removing my faja for the first time. The shower brought some life back into me and my incisions were already healing so I was very impressed. Of course I was bruised everywhere and I felt like a gigantic elephant because of how swollen I was.
Day four to day seven:
My first week was over with and I went back to Dr. Dass for my 1 week postop appointment. It was fast and breezy. He checked how I looked, gave me my new garments and scar cream, and answered any questions I had. Days four to seven weren't bad but I started to feel REALLY uncomfortable because my entire body was heavily swollen and I wasn't used to looking at myself all big and puffy.
Week two and three:
My second week was amazing. The swelling went down significantly and nothing really "hurt" anymore. My stomach is still a little sensitive to the touch but overall I look great. Right now, I'm one day away from being three weeks post op. I measured my glutes everyday for the past three weeks and I've only lost one inch (which I believe was from the swelling). I have no lumps or weird inconsistencies on my skin/body. Whenever I felt itchy, I'd just put some Aquaphor on my skin and remind myself that my body is playing tricks on me. I no longer feel uncomfortable and I think it's because I'm used to my faja.
Summary:
The whole surgery, preop and postop, was smooth in my opinion. I came in mentally ready because I had done so much research ahead of time and knew what to expect. The pain was not to my expectations and it wasn't bad at all! I could use the restroom easily, shower easily on my own, and the fajas weren't difficult to put on. I'll post pictures soon of my before and after! I didn't take day to day progress photos because I couldn't be bothered by it, lol! But I did measure myself (just the glutes). Dr. Dass removed EVERY INCH of fat on my stomach and back, no exaggeration, and left me completely flat. I love it! The only thing I asked of him was to put as much fat in my booty as possible and he did so. Remember, your butt can only handle so much fat because of the skin. Don't expect to have the world's biggest booty after just one procedure because your skin/body is different from others.
I'll post more updates throughout the week but feel free to ask me any questions. I'm usually very active on my laptop and would love to answer questions. It's a lifechanging decision and I would love to make it easier for you.
What I got done:
Waist, hips, upper/lower abdomen, back bra rolls, arms, and inner thighs.
Pre-surgery glutes: 37.5 - 38 inch
Post-surgery glutes: 44.5 inch
3 week mark glutes: 43 inch
