I Do Not Recommend Avana or Dr. Mameniskis

I would love to give Avana a 5 star review. I thought I had chosen a great doctor and surgery center. Sadly that was not the case. I had lipo 360/BBL performed by Dr. Mameniskis (supposedly?) in Nov '21.
I paid everything, over 5k, weeks before surgery day and was told I was paid in full. Went to preop day before surgery and happened to also meet 9 OTHER WOMEN who were scheduled for surgery with Dr. Mameniskis on the same day as me Not sure why they would ever book this many surgeries for the same doctor in a day, but apparently that's normal at Avana. This was the first sign of negligence that I shouldn't have ignored.
Surgery day, I was there at 5:30am as told to be. A woman comes in demanding I pay $500 for cell saver, saying it was required and also telling me I need to purchase a 2nd faja at Avana. Luckily I had some cash in my purse and was able to pay for the cell saver that was "required" but I declined the faja since I already had one for wake up. Why didn't they have me pay for the cell saver at preop? What if I didn't have any way to pay at surgery? But here's the kicker.. After requesting my medical records, I realized I NEVER RECEIVED CELL SAVER... So where is my money? Why hasn't it been refunded? I also never received the BBL pillow that was supposed to be included in my package. But luckily I brought one with me. So didn't make a big deal of it. My $500 for cell saver that I never received on the other hand, I should have gotten that back by now. But Avana is claiming they don't see the payment I made.. Well, that's because I made it in cash on the morning of my surgery when the lady demanded it or I would be canceled. She wrote notes about it right on the front of my patient folder, I watched her do it. So who has my money??
Now let's talk about the most important. My actual results. Or lack of results would make more sense. My stomach is an uneven mess. I look deformed. I can't even wear a shirt that isn't 2 sizes too big without being embarrassed. I've recently talked to 2 other plastic surgeons and had in person consults to fix this and they are saying it looks like a very INEXPERIENCED surgeon did a very rushed poor lipo job on me. My back looks like no fat was removed at all. And my butt, well its a bit bigger but the shape is funny and it hangs in a bulge at the bottom and near my butt crack. When I asked why the maximum amount of fat wasn't removed I was told my medical records were wrong! It makes me question who actually did my surgery. Since I know for a fact there was several of us for the same man on the same day. Is the doctor doing the surgeries himself, is there an assistant doing some of them, what's actually happening once we are asleep? Cause my results look nothing like they should judging from the photos of other women Dr. Mameniskis supposedly operated on. I am more embarrassed of my body now than before surgery. All of that pain and money for what?
And the aftercare was a complete joke and non existent. I went to my postop appointment day after surgery and was put in a massage room where I fell asleep from the pain meds, woke up after 4 hours, only to come out and the girl at the desk say they couldn't find me and the doctor had already came and left. I was in the room you left me in? How do you lose a patient? I never did get to see the doctor for my postop.
I have tried to contact him several times on his personal IG account and am always met by his nurse who tells me "he will reply soon, we care about our patients" but he NEVER replys. I was having issues with seromas, swelling, pain, etc. He would never reply to me. And Avana says someone will return your call, and that doesn't happen either. So I ended up having to go to a hospital to have another doctor take care of what "my surgeon" had been paid to do and give me the antibiotics/aftercare I needed.
And I will now have to save up the money again to have my stomach fixed. Because Avana and Dr. Mameniskis will not make it right and fix this. I'm just stuck with botched work by a completely negligent doctor and surgery center.
I'm also filing complaints with the medical boards as well. In hopes nobody else has to go through this.
