Booked Dr. Mendieta

WORTH IT$7,000
After so many years of dreaming and saving I finally booked my BBL with Dr. Mendieta! I've met several other doctors and none of them made me feel as comfortable as he did. In my opinion Dr. Mendieta is the best BBL doctor in Miami with the most experience. I'm really happy with this decision. My surgery is scheduled for July 1, 2020. I am really nervous but excited. I want to continue working out every day and try to lose as much weight as possible before then. Any recommendations or tips would be great! Thanks!

How much is the surgery cost? Good luck! Post pictures!

It was $6,800 for the BBL and I paid an extra $500 for an optional pain shot. It helps the first 3 days to not be in pain. I highly recommend getting this shot because it was extremely painful even with the shot. I can't imagine without it!

I'm on the opposite side now, I was on a regime to lose weight & firm up. I exercised in the morning first thing in the morning , through Pilates,Barre, HIIT and running. Then I would have breakfast with eggs, spinach & fruit. Drinks lots of water. If you can prep your own meals & go for walks after each meal. High protein & complex carbs, with small portions. Also try to download fitness pal so you track your calories to see how much weight you can realistically drop. Walk, walk a lot 10k steps or more a day. :) This will also make you stronger for your surgery. Best of luck hun!

Hope you don't end up with mycobacterium abscessus like I did! From him using unsterile medical equipment. There is no cure for this bacterial infection that I will have the rest of my life...due to him.

Sorry that happened. I had a great experience. I didn't get any infections. I got massages every single day for the first 3 weeks. Then I got 2 a week, 1 a week, and now I go once a month.

Hope you are healing well! Just remember that you will see your true results around month 3, maybe earlier depending on how good of shape you are going in!!! He's the bomb so I'm sure you will look fabulous. Update with pics when you're comfortable.

Yes! Thank you! It's such a long strange journey! I feel like I'm constantly changing. You're right month 3-4 the fluff fairy came and everything was perfect! Months 1-2 I just felt huge and had lots of water weight. Thanks!

Finally writing a review of my BBL with Dr. Mendieta. I had surgery 7/1/20.
I am so, so, so happy with my results! I never thought I could feel this confident and amazing in my body. I wish I would have done this sooner! I got exactly everything I asked him for. The shape is perfect of my butt and hips. I have absolutely no love handles anymore, all fat from my back is gone. Dr. Mendieta has surpassed all of my expectations. I highly recommend him. I felt comfortable and safe through out the entire process. The nurses were wonderful the morning of my surgery. I never felt rushed, everyone truly cared and heard me out. They knew I was nervous and calmed me down to relax. And He even called me the night of my surgery to see how I was feeling.
I was very heavy before surgery so I still have some belly fat. The FL law only allows him to remove 4 liters of fat at one time. I had realistic expectations of this and Dr.Mendieta explained this would be the case. He gave me the option of a TT or BBL but I personally do not want a TT. Even still, a lot of fat was removed from my stomach, more than I expected would be removed. My butt moves naturally and fluffed very well. It’s the exact apple shape I asked him for. I’m constantly getting compliments!!!
My only negative is that it is so difficult to schedule follow up appointments or to communicate with the staff. I still don’t have a coordinator. I went in for a post op the day after, 2 weeks after, and then I couldn’t see anyone until 6 months later!!!! Because he was so busy I never saw him months 2-5. I constantly called trying to see if there was an appointment and nothing. I wish they had more coordinators or they would care more, be more organized. It feels like once you pay your deposit, no one cares. :( I also hate their answering service phone line. I’ve left several messages and no one ever got back to me. Also my appointments would be cancelled/rescheduled all the time which was frustrating. Parking is also TERRIBLE!!!
But physically and surgery wise - I love my body and experience! I am definitely doing another round 2 BBL in 2021. I felt super safe the entire time and like my life was in good hands. That’s the most important thing to me. This is my choice because I want more of a snatched look and because I was so heavy. Everyone’s body is different. I want to get rid of the remaining belly fat, smaller waist, and more projection in my butt.

How was your first day after and the healing process? How long did it take for things to feel normal again?
January 5, 2021
It's all very, very painful. I won't lie. Difficult to explain the feeling. You're weak, dizzy, nauseous, uncomfortable. You absolutely need to have a nurse the first 3 days. (I wish I had hired them 5 days.)
I paid extra for the exparel shot for pain. I highly recommend this because I can't imagine what it would have felt like without that! I would say days 4 and 5 were the worst for me. I think because that's when the shot & drugs wore off. The first 2 weeks were very difficult! I had horrible nausea and could not eat anything. I couldn't hold down food, just vomit it back up.
I would say I felt better after 1 month. You will keep getting better and better, but still have sore spots. Probably 4 months is when I felt normal again. But For example I'm 6 months post op, and still have soreness in my lower back. I still have to be very careful with my work outs/lifting etc. It really is a long journey to be prepared for. Most importantly you have to be prepared mentally. It is an emotional rollercoaster! All girls go through a "depression" stage. At first you won't see results and think "why did I do this" "I look the same" -Try not to! As the months go by you will start to see all the results, lose the water weight, stop swelling, fluff, etc. Trust the process! I did not think it would take so long to recover, but it really does. I'm still seeing changes every day.
