3 weeks post op
I visited my family Dr last week & he prescribed me lasiks for all the water retention. I'm finally feeling somewhat normal, but I still wear my faja 23/7 & actually understand why people say it becomes part of you. If I'm out of it for over an hour I swell up like a puffer fish & the pain becomes unbearable. I highly recommend tiger balm to rub on your back & sides..... It's literally been life & keeps me going.
Day 2 Post-Op
Had my Post-Op appointment with a nurse at New Life, which was pretty much a waste of time. They just looked at my stomach & sent me on my way. I went down stairs to pick up my garmet, ab board & foams. I do not recommend buying your boards & foams from them, they are garbage. I do like their fajas ???? I also cancelled my massages with them since the Recovery house has a massage therapist that comes everyday. Coraito (squeeze you like a lemon) was a great massage therapist & she drained me dry (highly recommend her). Once back at the recovery house i took my pain pills & got my first massage. (I only took my pain pills twice) after my massage I was able to take a shower. It's not recommended by the Dr or nurses but I used a heating pad & it literally was the best thing I could have taken with me. The pics are after my first massage.
Surgery Day!
I arrived at New Life around 7am for surgery. I was called back around 8 am.... They needed me to urinate for the drug test, but I was dehydrated & could not go. They sent the nurse in to start an IV & Dr Dowbak came in & got me all marked up & took notes ( I still never told her what kind of look I wanted). The nurse stopped my IV & forgot to turn in back on, so once again we were delayed. I was finally able to go to the bathroom & was called back to surgery around 10:30 or 11:00 am. I walked back with the anesthesiologist, got on the table & was out! Woke up so cold I just knew I was freezing to death. I was on my back & the pain was so bad I just wanted to stand up. As soon as the nurse heard me moaning she got my warm fuzzy PJs, dressed me, put me in the wheelchair & sent me out of there. Betsy from the recovery home was waiting for me, I laid on my stomach in the back of the SUV. The ride wasn't bad, but I got extremely hot & stripped all of my clothes off in the back of the SUV. When we arrived at the RH I needed to urinate so bad but couldn't! I was released from the clinic around 2 & wasn't able to urinate until about 7 on that night (absolutely the worse part of that day) Julie at the recovery home stayed right by my side the entire night, she walked with me back & forth to the bathroom a 100 times, hand fed me soup & made sure I took my meds. Day one was the worse day for pain & being uncomfortable. I think wearing the fluid filled faja all day & night was the worse (Dowbak doesn't use drains).
