So i am updating with my 7 week post op pics. Still wish it was much bigger, but def better than before. If i ever save enough money, I definitely want to go back for round two to make it bigger,. Waist and hips shrunk another 1/2 inch since my last post. Cant wait to be able to sit, 1 more week!

Omaha-I'm good, everything is almost back to normal, Only thing is that my lower back is a little numb.
Hipsobsessed- Yes i told him i wanted hips, as u can see, i used to be very narrow with no curves. I told him i want to be very curvy, I wanted my hips to be as wide as my shoulders, but he said he wouldn't be able to do that bc my shoulders are too wide. But he said he added a little. He is really expensive, and to be honest, I dont think he is worth the money. I was not impressed by his staff at all. Instead of getting a call to remind me of my appointments, they sent me a text, which i thought was very unprofessional. They didnt inform me of anything, they didnt talk to me about the lymphatic massages, they didnt tell me to take stool softeners while on medication because those medications make you constipated, they didnt explain anything. If i had to go back and do it again, I think i wouldve gone to salama, he seems just as good or even better because he gives volume, for half the price too, and according to all these realself members, he has an amazing staff. I am not knocking mendieta's skills, but for the price, I dont think he is worth it. Because i like my results, but i dont love it, and for $11,000 i should be absolutely in love with it

i agree w/you. i spent $10,500 june 2011 & dr. mendieta DID NOT give me what i asked for. he is extremely conservative. he may have been the man back in 2008, but not now. i'm having to have a round 2 to get what he didn't give me. i'm scheduled with dr. campos in mx, but i may be switching to dr. cabral in the dr.

the other person im considering is Dr. Markmann, but that's $18K and he assured me he will give me big hips, but I really dont have that kind of money!
Dr. Salama replied to my request of getting only transferring fat to my hips by saying, "sure I will give you a huge buttock projection"!! I was like are you kidding me?? I said hips, I already have a huge butt..So that tells me he's just replying like autopilot, im really nervous about him giving me hips becuase Ive never seen him do it before on anyone.

I know dr. markmann is the most expensive doctor, I think $18,000 is way to outrageous. I've only seen dr. salama do one girl with hips, i think mendieta is really conservative as well, he doesnt like to exaggerate anything, he will only make it just big enough.

Im sorry u feel the same way, I hear about both doc being great, but never actually seen their work outside of their website, I tried to find their work on realself, and i couldnt find it, best of luck to u!

Have u seen bottomup hips? They r amazing! U do have to keep in mind, the bigger hips he gives u, the less fat he will have for projection.... Something to thing about...

Sorry the "bottomup" comment below was meant for u. If u go to Mendieta's office, look at Vivi. She has HUGE hips! Mendieta does give hips (keep in mind that it all depends on ur body type, what u r starting out with, quality of fat, and how much fat! But wider hips may mean less projection :/

You look lovely, very natural. But if you go to Salama, he will make you look like a beast! You'll def have to gain weight for a 2nd procedure. Again, I'm sorry you feel like all that money wasn't worth it.

I know salama is almost half of what u paid. But no one sculpts abs and flanks like Mendieta!!! That's y I went to him. Usually u can't lipo the same place twice so that's I didn't take my chances. Ur abdonmen, back and flanks look amazing! U have amazing shape! And I truly think only Mendieta is the master of that. There r a couple of girls on here that their abs and belly button look funky from salama. Each dr has their pros and cons. Personally, I would rather look amazing ALL AROUND then funky in my mid section with a HUGE ASS! Lol if I were u, I would go to salama for a second round if u r considering it but what Mendieta has giving u no other dr can! Another advice, DON'T LET HIM TOUCH UR UPPER BODY! Take time and look at some girls on here. Yes they have big huge booties but check out the abs, belly buttons, and flanks:/ (I don't wanna give names out here cuz it's not right). I like the size I am but I'm still SUPER SWOLLEN. So I guess I'll see... If my butt doesn't turn out as big as I want it then I'll just do it again. Plus, I don't see many girls here with 8 months out or more w Salamas work. If u do know of girls, pls private message me. Unlike mendieta where there r girls in his office 4 years + out and still look amazing! Another thing, salama gives huge butts but for some reason, some of them look droopy on the outer lower sides :/ idk it's a hard choice. So it's something to consider. Good luck sweetie ;)

I am now three weeks post op...still not much of a difference...i feel like my but shrunk a lil. so i'll post pics maybe during 4 week or 6 week post op. If anyone have had the bbl done, please let me know if you liked your results the longer you waited, or if you liked it right after surgery. I'm very discouraged right now. I know i sound like a broken record, but i'm just not happy with the size, its still way too small. I liked the size of my butt day 1-3 post surgery, and then it really started to shrink. Someone please give me some advice to how time affected the results. Thnx

Bootyful, I understand what you are saying that you wanted as a result. Regardless of whether you decide to go for a 2nd round or not your body is BEAUTIFUL and has changed alot since your pre op photos.
I had a BBL and butt crease excision lift and it looks bad, after all the time and money I have to have a revision. my befores look better than my afters from the back. I am besides myself. I have to save money after i finish paying off what i just spent to my doctor and then I am having a revision with Dr. Salama for sure. I will take whatever improvement I can get. I wish I had known about dr salama prior....

it's where the doctor removes some excess skin with an incision on the butt crease. I wanted to perk up a little sagging (not much). According to Dr. Salama this could have been done without an incision strictly with fat transfer.... so now i have a scar when i didn't have to have one and a BBL that 'is not great'. don't get me wrong it could be much much worse, but for around $14K i should be LOVING it.

I am happy to hear it was not Dr. Mendieta because I am about to book with him. I thought about Dr Salama but am afraid he will not give me the curves I want. I hear he does good butt enhancements but no curves. What do you think?

@bootyful.. I recently had a BBL 3 weeks ago and I agree with you that I really liked my results right after I had it done my booty was stupid big. But I was def warned by my doc that 30-40% could disappear so I just have to keep that in mind. Im constantly looking in the mirror and in different outfits and checking out my booty size and to see if it shrunk more. But Im sorry to heat that you didnt get the projection you wanted. But honestly you look amazing im super jealous of you stomach its sooooo flat not lumpy no bruises perfect and a curvy shape!!!

Hi Caramella, I also love your shape! I think Salama gave you a nice, perky butt and nice curves with a flat stomach. They say once the swelling in our stomach and back goes down, our butt will look bigger. Doc said to give it atleast 3 weeks, so i guess we have to try to be patient. Happy Healing!

laying on my stomach sucks! i just want to sit like a normal person. Feeling so much better. No more nausea, dizziness, and fatigue. Had my last post op appt today. I was told they took a full 4 liters and they injected 850cc into each buttock. I dont know how a full four liters only gave me 850 cc....god I hope my but will look bigger....I hope all this time, money, and discomfort didnt go to waste. Anyone who have gotten a bbl more than 6 months ago, please let me know if you liked ur results more the longer you waited or if you liked it less the longer you waited? Doc said my but will look bigger once the swelling on my belly goes away, but its also known that your but can get smaller too within the next few months. As for now, I'm doing everything to try to keep a high fat survival rate.

All your butt looks extra big girl just give it fare time for your swelling to go down. Dr. M was my first choice but I read too many complaints about him.

@meelee, his office is not very attentive to the patient, I've only had one plastic surgery, so I dont kno how we are really supposed to be treated. I thought very little time with doc was normal. But i met a few grls at the office there who have had plastic surgery before, and they said they were horrified with how they were treated.

There is this common denominator of all the women who write reviews about him (good or bad), that the treatment by staff and doctor is poor. If he's making us pay 2x as much compared to other surgeons, his office should treat his patients like royalty.
On the other hand, I've heard excellent reviews about Salama's staff. Mendieta's people need to check themselves.

your crazy ! you look great you can see the difference in the before and after.. im doing mine with mendieta in june but i am scared to death ..im afraid of the anestisia and of the first few days.. were you an out of town patient?
Im wondering, did you specifically ask him for hips at all, or he just focused on your bum?
I am considering Dr. M for fat grafting to the hips bcus I do see that he does a good job contouring. But for 11K, I have to be absolutely sure.
