I do not think I did the Dr. Alkon enough credit in my initial review so I want to elaborate...
1) I chose him for 3 reasons; a) his focus on safety; b) he did not make me feel rushed at all during the consultation and that was important to me and c) I liked results of his patients that had a similar body type than me.
2) I call the office frequently; the staff is patient and warm
3) I freaked out day one and called him at 10pm, he answered right away and was very patient and reassuring.
4) my results so far exceed my expectations
..........
1) Now to talk about a few lessons learned.
Sleeping on my stomach suuuccckkks, I wake up several times a day due to the neck and back aches. I bought different pillows and even an avocado floatie (look it up on YouTube) but ultimately just decided to grin and bear it.
2) I went out after 8 days or so, and got very fatigued; not sure I could have returned to an office as a result. But perhaps I am just a weanie. I felt better day 12
3) The first time I drove a Dodge Ram, it was not comfortable so my suggestion is if you have the option, a sedan is a more comfortable ride if you are using the BBL pillow.
4) Be careful with the salt intake, and drink lots of water, the fluid retention is uncomfortable
5) the lymphatic massages hurt as much as everyone says, I saved my Oxy just for them for the first couple of massages

You look great, nice Job happy healing
The results are EXACTLY what I wanted. I am soooo happy.
How is your body healing? How many days did you hace to sleep on your stomach? Did it bothered laying on the stomach since you also had lipo there correct? Im having my surgery in august, and im Super nervous
I am 4 weeks post up now; my stomach and back are still tender from the lipo. Yes, I have to sleep on my stomach. For the first couple of weeks I woke up every 2 hours. I was using Tylenol but it made my face swell so I stopped. I do not like sleeping on my stomach, my back and my neck ache every day. I also don't watch a lot of television because I can't find a comfortable way of doing so, so I mostly stand and clean. Do not be nervous, it's not comfortable but with every week that passes it gets better and I love the encouragement I get from friends/family that see my results. I would recommend that you do not take any short cuts as the dozens of YouTube videos suggest; this is a big investment in yourself - probably the only or biggest one you have made for you. So what your doc tells you.
Thanks for the feedback! You are looking amazing, I started taking pictures of my be,fore, gosh i cannot wait for the after :]

BBL 43 year old mother of 2 - June 2020

Pre-surgery: I completed 2 virtual consultations with popular docs in NYC and was turned off by their willingness to book me without me interacting once with the doctor performing my surgery. After browsing through hundreds of BBL before/after photos I decided to schedule a consult with Dr. Alkon. If you are looking for someone to charm your socks off (since many of these docs nowadays have a strong sales pitch) then this is not the man for you. But if you want a doctor that is extremely confident, direct, hyper concerned about safety and has done hundreds, maybe thousands of BBLs I recommend Dr. Alkon. I did not feel pressured in any way, or rushed, nor was I promised the world, most importantly he has standards and will not operate on someone who is not healthy.
Day of Surgery: I was kind of numb leading up to my surgery; neither excited nor super nervous. At this point everyone I interacted with at the hospital was very kind and capable. I met with the anesthesiologists, Dr. Alkon marked me up and tried his best to make small talk and make me comfortable. I was wheeled into the room where the surgery would be performed and was asleep within minutes. Next thing I knew I was in a recovery room with Dr. Alkon and the nurse. I was laying on my back with my compression garment on. The nurse asked me if I needed more pain meds, which I declined and then I didn't see her for about an hour. At this point I started to feel restless - not in pain but bored and eager to leave. could hear other patients all around me coming in from their surgeries, some of which were receiving juice and crackers to help with the nausea. I did not know how long I was expected to lay in that bed before I could leave. So I started shouting for the nurse. She came, but I could tell she was annoyed. She noticed that I want set up with a call button (to call the nurse) so she was less annoyed by the ask. I asked when I could get my phone and when I could leave. She said after I urinated, I could leave. So I said I wanted to give it a try. When I got up from the bed so much fluid started to seep out of me, and then I started to feel aches and pain and numbness, nausea and dizziness hit me like a 2 by 4. And then for the second time in my 43 years of life I started to have a panic attack. I started crying and shaking and the nurse just kept asking me why I was upset. I asked her to leave me alone so that I could get my bearings. After 1/2 hour or so I asked got my belongings so that I could call my husband. He answered immediately which is when I realized that no one had called him to let him know the surgery went well. It was about 4pm and he had not heard from me since 10am, he was more than a little worried. I called for the nurse again to ask got juice, etc to see if I could get rid of the nausea and dizziness. She looked very overwhelmed and frazzled and another nurse came to the rescue. I ate everything as quickly as I could and dressed myself and announced that I was ready to leave. I called my husband and asked him to pick me up. Once he arrived, the second nurse came to the rescue once more and wheeled me downstairs.

Omg i can relate to that☹️ How scary
oh no did you let Dr. Alkon know about how you were treated? or someone from the managerial staff of the facility?
