Hello everyone!
Just wanted to start by thanking all of you who wrote about your process, it really was the reason I decided to go through with my procedure and feel confident about it. I was looking into getting a BBL for about 2 years before I decided to pull the trigger. I went back and forth between 2 doctors - Dr. Kenneth Hughes and Dr. Dennis Dass. They both seemed to have significant experience with BBL. What really made me decide was the professionalism of the staff when I called, and the availability of the doctors to meet with me. The ladies at Dr. Dass’ office are awesome.
I’m attaching some before pics. I would say I have a slim body type. My latest weigh in was at 135. I’ve always been told that I have an “hourglass” figure, yet I’ve always wanted to really fill my hips out to get to what I consider an hourglass. And of course having a little projection in the back doesn’t hurt. I made this clear to Dr. Dass when we met, that I didn’t want to add significant fat to my buttocks, But rather shape my hips and make it proportional to my butt.
Some of the things I bought for surgery day/recover were:
- potty pads (I had a ton left over from potty training my dog and these work wonders, $11 for 150ct at PetSmart) they also have adhesive tabs in the bottom which is ideal for hardwood so you don't’ slip and fall when stepping on them
- the Loaded Edge shewee... TRUST me get this, you’ll need it
- the Luxury Comfort BBL pillow (haven’t use it yet, but it is very firm, hopefully it works when I need it)
- My fiancé helped me modify a lawn/tanning chair that leaves enough loose fabric in the back so that my butt hangs and does not make contact with the fabric - you can also buy a cheap lawn chair and just cut out the fabric out in the back
- Pill Organizer - this actually helps tremendously, you have different pills that you will need to take so this helps you remember if you’ve taken them for that day or not
- Cheap Towels - Use these as throw away towels if you soak them without ruining any of your good towels
- Loose Pants - Some dark colored ones tor day of surgery
- Gatorade Zero - good for electrolytes and doesn’t have sugar, try to avoid sugary foods and drinks

Welcome to the community! Thanks for sharing all your post-op recovery supplies, some great ideas, especially the modified lawn chair —you should take a picture and show us! Keep us updated, I'm excited to see your results.

Thank you! I posted a picture of the chair! Thankfully ours had bands on the side that could be easily removed. I imagine buying a non-expensive lawn chair or camping chair and cutting out the back would be just as good.

That’s awesome that you were finally able to make the leap. I’ve been wanting I get a bbl for awhile but keep on freaking myself out about the whole procedure.

Trust me I went through the same thing!! But I have to say the procedure was the easiest part. Feels like 5 minutes! The recovery is a bit painful but after the first two days it’s cake and you get your routine going.

If it’s something you truly want, do your research until you’re comfortable enough to set up a consultation. The rest will fall into place

Day 1

lg23205
Got my surgery June 27th at 7am and I was out by 11. Thankfully we have a truck so I had plenty of room to lay down in the back seat on my way home. The pain was mostly masked by the medication and I was able to move and walk around without an issue by the end of the day. But remember, the body is recovering in its own way, physical activity will make you swell so make sure to lay and rest even if you feel fine to be up and about.

It sucks not being able to take off the girdle or clean up, but its only 48 hours! I bled/drained minimally, I used maybe a total of 3 pads only to lay on my bed. A nice firm mattress definitely helps when laying on your stomach. So far so good!

Day 3

I’ve never been so happy to take a shower!! I was pretty nervous to see what the results were like being all compressed in my little body suit. Beware, pulling the garment over your behind is painful, so take a deep breath and have someone help you just pull it down. My fiancé threw all my garments and foams in the wash while I showered. The incision marks were surprisingly very small, and they had stopped bleeding by day 3.
The swelling in my backside is pretty crazy and I’m hoping it does go down, per the doctor it should be down about 40% after all is said and done. Which I’m ok with!
And it feels hard to the touch. But so far I am loving my figure!!!

Did you have general or local anaesthesia? Which areas were lipoed?

I was under general anesthesia. And I got my full abs, flanks, and inner thighs lipo’d.
