I had my Brazilian Butt Lift done with Dr. Shifrin in Chicago. I think he did a great job! He was also friendly with a nice sense of humor. He is confident and I see why. I’m very happy with my results so far :)
However, I will say his office was a bit busy and cramped. That can be off-putting, but I still felt very comfortable and assured I’d be taken care of. They showed great consideration throughout the hustle and bustle of things. Also, I did have to see one of his partners for my consultation and one of my follow ups, but his team is great so I didn’t mind too much.
Background: I wanted to get a BBL to make my silhouette more of an hourglass shape with fuller hips and a snatched waist. I also wanted a larger looking ass. Nothing too dramatic, but I definitely wanted a nice big butt.
Measurements
34DDD, 5’7”, 162 lbs
Pre Op:
Waist- 31”
Hips- 40”
Post Op:
Waist- 27.5”
Hips- 43”
Weight: 156 lbs
I’m about 4.5 weeks post op. I had Lipo to my abdomen, flanks, and inner thighs with fat transfer to the hips and butt. The overall experience has been good. It’s definitely been some highs and lows though.
Pros:
Really Nice Outcome (like yassss my waist is snatched which makes my boobs look bigger. Hips and butt are looking right too!)
Not Really Painful at All(Lower back was aching a lot immediately after surgery but it improved once i laid down)
No nausea bc anesthesiologist gave me a patch
Not much drainage(the sight of blood makes me cringe so this was a nice surprise given the bloody pics I’ve seen on here)
Some Difficulties:
-Tingling and numbness in my pinky and ring finger from positioning during surgery
-Swelling EVERYWHERE (Legs, Feet, Back, Abdomen, my Face, vagina as well) It took about two weeks for me to really notice the swelling going down significantly(like I started seeing my shape come through)
-Post Op Requirements
No sitting for 4 weeks was tough. I did use the BBL pillow when I absolutely had to sit.
Garment was very tight at the beginnings. It would kind of hurt but now i really love the compression! I think it’s helped shaped things out more
-First bowel movement took some effort lol not painful at all just some pressure from a few days without one which makes sense
-Itchiness just about drove me crazy, but antihistamines and not scratching helped
-Bending down was hard for about 2 weeks
- Worrying about the results going away(the mirror will be your best friend one day and enemy the next lol) still happens
- The incision on my belly has struggled healing

6 Weeks Post Op
Swelling is continuing to go down. So on the bright side, my shape is still holding up and my stomach is looking flatter. HOWEVER, so is my butt. I’m telling you this roller coaster ride never ends you guys... I’m even starting to think about a Round 2... and it sucks because just the thought of having to go through this twice breaks my heart... The cost of this procedure and going through the healing process is just too much to not feel a way about it.
I’m going to give it some time though so I really know what my final results look like. I’m just praying this “fluffing” thing is real!!! Bc I need it.
Advice: In hindsight, I would have told Dr. Shifrin that I wanted a super big gigantic butt just to compensate for all the volume I’ve lost. I think being realistic majorly backfired. 600 cc was transferred to each side and that was just not enough.

Hi dear, I have been looking constantly for a doctor in Chicago who does BBL's. How was your experience with the doctor? Would you use him for a round 2?

I believe Dr. Shifrin is skilled and capable. He was friendly. But I probably wouldn’t go for a Round 2 with him. Personally, I think I need a doctor who is more vested in his patients. For the money you spend, you expect more attention and better results. I also think his BBL style errs on the side of conservative. For a round 2, I would venture to travel. Proximity in Chicago was a plus, but when you’re spending what he’s charging you could go anywhere, probably spend less, and get what you were looking for to begin with.

Thanks for being so open and honest dear. I will definitely explain to him what I want at my consultation next Friday. I want my butt as big as possible considering I will lose some volume. If he says he can't deliver then I'll have to find someone who can

Hello dear, just want to give you an update. So I did meet with Dr. Shifrin and he has a great personality. I explained to him there will not be a Round 2 for me and I want my butt as big as possible. He smiled and said "booty greed". He said he will put as much fat into my butt as he can get in there. I also said I want my stomach flat and my waist tiny. He said I'm gonna take care of you. But for me, I won't get overly excited until I see my results. I don't want to set myself up to be disappointed.

I'm trying my best to not set high expectations just to be let down. If I didn't trust his work, I would not have paid the amount of money that I have. I just want to make sure I am very clear as to what my expectations are and have him let me know if they are realistic expectations or not. In hindsight, I feel like with some doctors no matter how many Wish pictures they see or how many times you reiterate to them what you want to look like. Once your under the anesteshia and they have full control of your body. They shape your body how they feel it should be shaped. I just hope and pray Dr. Shifrin does not do that to me or I would be really disappointed.

Hi dear, you were so right. On surgery day Dr. Shifrin was marking me up he said 600cc's will look good on you. I turned around and looked at him and said I DO NOT WANT 600cc's. We then had a nice conversatiom about cc's.
His point was to not focus on cc's because it looks different on each person. But again I said I do not want 600 or 700cc's. I asked for 1400 and he said that was too big for my small frame. Then I said well I want 1000cc's in each cheek and he assured me that he would inject as much fat as my butt would allow. So please tell me how I end up with only 660cc's in each cheek? It's also not as round as I told him and showed him pictures of. I'm so disappointed about that. However, I never imagined that he would be able to get my tummy super flat and get my waist as tiny as he did.

Wow! That is a big difference. I think Shifrin does have a signature style. He definitely favors the ultra natural look for butts! I don’t think it’s a bad thing, but there has to be a balance with meeting the patient’s expectations and a realistic appearance. Way to focus on the positives! Also, I think that some doctors differ on their fat treatments techniques. I never asked but I know some doctors will only put pure fat back(so seems like less cc’s) and some will essentially put everything back in (fat and liquid, seems like more cc’s).

Hey sorry I’m late! I did share wish pictures(I will post them soon with more updated pictures). He was really glad I brought them on the day of my surgery. I think he kept everything I wanted in mind. However, you just never know how the body will respond to the fat grafts especially around the hips. I think I was just hoping I had some extra fat in there for backup lol. Wishing you all the best in your surgery!

Hi Rox, no problem! And yes I sure did! To deal with that, I would re-wrap them so that it feels like the pressure from the bandages was even throughout. Coming out of surgery it was really tight around my knees and lower thigh which made my thigh look like a drumstick lol. So like where my compression socks ended(below knee), I would wrap from there keeping it evenly snug until it overlapped with my garment. At some point within week 2 or 3, I started massaging them. But mine have evened up a lot since then. So I wouldn’t worry too much. Happy healing to you!

I also had a bbl with Dr. Shifrin two weeks ago. I’m feeling the deflation and not liking it at all. I think the swelling from the first week gave me a false sense of security. Have you experienced “fluffing” yet?

My Wish Pics
Hey ladies, I know some of you all have asked about what I shared with Dr. Shifrin as far as wish pictures and results I wanted. Check them out and let me know what you think! As I said in my first post, I didn’t want anything dramatic(aka Nicki Minaj booty), just a nice, fuller, rounder, big ass. I had a bit of a sag to begin with, so filling in the top and middle were important.
