7 Months Post-Op

For those that have been following my journey, I wanted to update you on my 7 month post-op. Pros - My stomach has gotten tighter, the post surgery blues are gone and I am finally happy with my results. Cons - I still feel a little numbness although I was told it will take some more time and the fat cells from the side of my butt didn't last long, but I guess it helped since it looks more natural. Although I had a really tough recovery and doubts that came with it, it's true when they say to give it 6 months for your body to fully recover. I get so many compliments with my new body. Thank you Dr. Campos. You are truly and amazing doctor.

11 Weeks Post Op

Today marks 13 weeks for me. I finally reached my 3 months, however, my recovery journey doesn't end here just yet. I have attached pictures of my 11 week post op checkup. I did a side by side... 5 weeks vs 11 weeks. Aesthetic changes I have seen is my waist looks slightly smaller. My glutes kept their fat cells since my last 5 week post op which is a plus. It took a lot of discipline from not sitting and laying on my stomach for those three months to be sure the fat cells survived. Overall I am happy with my butt and size.
Cons - My stomach, sides and back are still numb. My skin color is still not even and I still feel swollen and bruised. I am still continuing with my lymphatic massages with red light therapy and sometimes ultrasound. I also did 6 sessions of radio frequency from a groupon vendor which I didn't see any changes to the tightness above my belly which kind of bothers me. You can't tell in the photo, but when I bend over slightly I have a roll above my belly button due to extra skin from lipo. I spoke to my surgeon along with several doctors and there is nothing I can do repair the slightly loose skin unless I do a tummy tuck which I won't do since I don't have kids and not worth it at this time. They also recommended radio frequency which to me seems useless beyond this point. I spoke to several doctors, nurses and techs and I was told to give it a total of 6 months since I'm still healing.
I will start working out to strengthen my stomach as much as possible, continue taking collegan peptides and do my massages until I am back to feeling normal. I will report back with my 6 month progress and see what changes or improvements I have seen.

Amazing BBL

I wanted to share this review to those that have thought of getting BBL, but are too scared of the outcome or too expensive for you. I have always wanted a bigger bum since my teens, but was always too afraid to pursue it. I am now 35 with no kids and finally have decided to go through with it. Finding a reliable and reputable doctor is extremely important especially if you plan to do the procedure out of the US to save money. I come to find out that a handful of my friends along with people that they knew have been going to Dr. Jaime Campos in TJ. Of course I was skeptical, but I figured why not go to a consultation.
My consultation experience with Dr. Campos left me feeling at ease and excited to go through with the procedure. He answered all my questions, was very professional and he was honest and suggested what would look best on me. I didn't want to go for the Kim K look. I have always been self conscious with the indentation on both side of buttocks so I wanted to fill those in. I wanted a minor lift, and perhaps remove some fat I had in my banana rolls. I was already thin as it is so having a bum like Kim K was out of the question. I also wanted something full, but natural looking.
Dr. Campos will provide you with different styles of BBL. I chose the sweet heart shaped buttocks since it's the most natural. He took fat from my waist, hips, lower abs, inner thighs and back of my thigh. I did a last minute add on which was to do the ab definition since he suggested it would like nice with my body type. A month later I got a call that an appt was made available and I set myself for surgery 12/20/18.
The first day of surgery I was beyond nervous. More than words can say. I have very low pain tolerance and have anxiety so you can imagine what I was going through. However, the entire staff was there for me every step of the way to ensure that I was at ease and relaxed before my procedure.
Day before surgery - Don't eat before 8pm, nothing to drink even water after 11pm, no nail polish, no jewelry, shave everywhere, shower with antibacterial soap, purchase arnica tea, gel and pedialyte.
Day of surgery - They start your morning by taking your vitals, blood work, provide anxiety meds, epidural and finally your anesthesia.
Post surgery - It's highly suggested you stay overnight. I'm glad I did. The nurses there were the BEST ever. They sleep in the same room with you to make sure you are well taken care of. Also, make sure to stay at Hotel Pueblo Amigo for the rest of your recovery time. Luis or Gladys can set it up for you and it's only about $85/day. Make sure you do your 5 massages as directed back to back!!! After your first message take pedialyte. You WILL need it. After that proceed with drinking the arnica tea 3 times per day until you finish the box. BTW they are closed on Sundays so plan accordingly when booking your massages. You are suggested to do 10 with the first 5 having to be back to back. I wasn't able to do them back to back since my surgery was few days before Christmas so it took a little longer for the tube with the fluids come out to come off. Also the massages are important to prevent lumps due to lipo. Make sure to follow doctor's orders. Wear your compression garment 24-7 for 4 weeks. You can take it off to wash it or for bathing. This will help with the swelling and shape your skin. After the 4 weeks, you use the garment 12 hours a day only for the next two months. NO SITTING. Keep in mind your bum is play-doh right now. If you sit you will damage your fat cells. After six weeks I was directed to only sit to eat or use the bathroom. I still try to avoid that as much as possible. Goal is no sitting for 3 months. After your five week checkup hemay suggest you to start weight lifting. This will help with your glute growth and contour. No cardio for 3 months. Lastly, be sure to use the scar treatment the doctor recommends. I ended up using Kitocell which literally peeled my skin and now I have dark marks in the areas of the incision. Now I have to use a cream to lighten the scars and go back for a Laser treatment in a month.
Cons - Recovery time is long. Since I did ab definition, the 1st week it hurt really bad. Post surgery-blues are awful for the first 2weeks. You will get sentimental and question everything. I contacted the doctor with every concern I had. Your body is molding and you will go through a lot of changes, be patient. You will experience numbness. I am 7 weeks and it still has not gone away. You will experience hot shocks in your body randomly. The hot shocks are less than 3 seconds and it's your cells reconnecting again. The numbness and shocks will go away with time. The Doctor suggested I do radio frequency treatment in order to tighten the skin. So far so good, but it's more money I did not want to spend. Make sure to save money aside for this. Keep in mind once your swelling goes down so will your butt. Be sure you know how big you want it and let the doctor add a bit more fat to the area since you will lose about 30% of it within a 3 month period. I wish I went a tiny bit bigger :/
Pros: I still have 8 more weeks of recovery left, however, I love how I look. I do wish I went a tiny bit bigger, but I look natural and I get compliments from my friends, random people at the gym who think I got it from working out and especially my bf (lol). Dr. Campos is truly amazing and he treats each patient with care and perfection. I made the best decision to go with Dr. Campos. His nurses, his assistant's (Glady's & Luis), Dr. Casillas and Johanna (massage therapist) are truly the best hands down. Thank you to everyone from Lotus Med Group! I am one extremely happy patient!
