5'3 - 127 lbs: Got datass with DASS!

Debated posting on here because I don't like the thought of my butt being online but this website helped me so much I figured I'd leave this up for a bit to help someone with a similar frame or hesitation make the right decision. I also want people to know that not all BBL recoveries are terrible and bedbound.
I'm 5'3, 127lbs (gained 10 lbs on based my own decision for this surgery), in my latest 20s. I had my BBL with extra lipo to my arms and inner thighs.
Currently 6 days out now and am loving my shape, hips, and butt! Feeling back to normal except for the sitting part and peeing through a funnel standing up part, but recovery has been a lot less painful than I expected and the bruising is fading nicely! Dr Dass really listened to what I wanted. I didn't have a specific wish pic but just showed him pics of his own work that I liked/didn't like. Some people love that shelf-look, others would get their butt projection to match their height if they could - to each their own. I just wanted a cute, full, butt with some hips and that's what it's shaping out to be! :)
Initially when I had started my search 5 years ago, I was 117lbs, working out every day, with very little fat. I looked into 3 doctors - Dr J Curves, Dr Hazani, and Dr Dass. In my consult with J curves, he had me he wanted me to gain 30-40 lbs for surgery and I didn't feel comfortable with that. Thats how I found Hazani and Dass who had done bbl's on girls with similar height and weight with gorgeous results! My only hesitation with Hazani at the time was that it seemed he had lost recent valuable staff and needed a bit of time getting organized again. People were also having trouble getting follow ups with him. Dass on the other hand seemed to be running a smooth operation with similar results and because I was coming from out of state I didn't want any blips in my plans. My only hesitation with Dass came from a few posts that mentioned his abdominal liposuction looking bumpy, discolored, and "corpse-y". His latest work though looked beautiful so I decided to take the chance and go with Dass!
I sent pictures in for the virtual consult since I was out of state and filled out a form about my medical history. A few videos were then sent back of Dr Dass telling me about the procedure and that I was a good candidate. His staff was great with arranging the actual surgery date, payment, call-backs, follow up appointments, etc!
Day before surgery: Came in for my preop and peed in a cup to make sure I wasn't preggers. Then I met Ellandra who took my vital signs, pricked my finger to test my blood sugar, took some before-pictures, and gave me my postop instructions and prescriptions. She was super friendly and made me feel comfortable. I then met Dr Dass who explained the procedure to me. He seemed a little tired and had his script down pat- I've read posts that describe him as being impersonal but can you really blame the man for not being super excited to do his millionth ass for the month haha he answered all my questioned and I never felt rushed and that's all that mattered to me. I picked up my narcotic prescription at the pharmacy right across the street after my appointment was over but the whole process was seamless. (By the way, if you have someone with you they can't wait in the office if they don't have a negative covid test).
Day of surgery: I was told to be there at 6am and arrived at 550am to the building doors being locked. Luckily, one of his nurses Alfred (? I think that was his name.. I blame anesthesia :p ) was coming in at 6am and unlocked the doors for me. He was such a sweetheart from start to finish! Chill, goofball, vigilant, efficient, everything you'd want your nurse to be. He got me settled in, went over my medical history and meds, took my vital signs, put the quickest/most painless IV in, and gave me a few laughs with a shot glass of Tylenol. Dr Dass then marked me up, and answered any last questions I had. I then met my anesthesiologist who was super friendly and he gave me his quick spiel. He reminded me that I may have a little sore throat waking up because I was going to have a breathing tube to protect my airway while I was asleep and laying flat on my stomach during surgery but that I would be asleep for all of it. I felt like I was in great hands and I was ready to go! The next thing I remember is being walked to the OR, laying myself down on the OR bed, getting the sleepy meds through my IV, and then waking up in recovery with a nice ass and NO pain!
As I regained my senses, I noted they had managed to squeeze me into a tight sausage suit (Faja they call it) while I was asleep. Thank the LORD! I hope everyone gets paid enough there because I cannot imagine the sweat they pour into squeezing all our swollen butts into these sausage suits day after day!) I remember nurse Shannon asking me how I was feeling. She was the nicest person to wake up to. I could hear the monitor beeps trickle down in tone which reminded me to take bigger breaths to make sure I was getting enough oxygen to both my lungs and to my new ass. I've read on some posts people poo-pooing the fact that they woke up on their butt. I think it's smart and I respect people that do this. I'd rather be in the best position to breathe and have someone visually see that I'm breathing well with full access to me while I'm waking up from anesthesia, than be face down/pretty ass up but blue and not breathing well. Also my butt STILL looks good so sitting on your butt for that short amount of time can't be that bad!
I started shivering pretty bad as I woke up though. I knew it was to be expected and brought a big sweater. Anesthesia and being in surgery can do that to you since the room is colder for bacterial control, you're completely exposed during surgery, anesthesia takes away your ability to control your own temperature well, and now you're waking up in wet surgical drainage. Shannon noticed right away though and was nice enough to give me some meds through my IV to help with the shivering and it worked like a charm!
Alfred (so sorry if this isn't actually his name) then took me down on a wheelchair to my ride. I still had 0 pain and 0 nausea at this point. My sister opened the back door to the car and I flopped onto my stomach onto the chucks I had laid down for the drainage before surgery.
I went into preop at 6am and came out at 930am and it was as if I had just gone to the grocery store ... but picked up a new ass! It was such a smooth experience and everyone was so nice!!!
I got back to my airbnb with my sister and had already laid out drainage pads on the couch and bed before surgery. I ate a protein cookie, took my anti-nausea meds, arnica pellets, antibiotic, and popped a pain pill. Even though I wasn't feeling any pain still, I knew that they had given me some good cocktail during surgery that was bound to wear off at some point and I wanted to stay on top of it. I had worn a $10 maxi dress with a coverup out of surgery and by the time I got back to the Airbnb it was already soaked in drainage, so I chucked the dress, laid belly down on the couch, turned on some Netflix, and passed out. I only woke up because my sister ordered kfc and my appetite never fails me, but then I passed right out again. I honestly don't think I've ever slept as much as I have in the past 6 days aside from when I was back in the womb.
I had my follow up postop day 4 since my sister was flying out that day and I preferred not to get into a Uber and ride with my ass up if I could avoid it. They gave me my second stage faja that day to switch into for my 2 week mark, checked that all my incisions were healing well, and made sure I was wearing my compression garments right. 10/10 experience so far!
Things I got before surgery:
- Chuck pads, abd drainage pads
- Overnight diapers for drainage
- ACE wraps, bandaids, neosporin, hand sanitizer, extra arnica cream
- Funnel thing off Amazon to pee standing up
- Laundry detergent
- Extra lipo foam
- Mattress protector, extra sheets, and cheap blanket (since I was staying at an Airbnb and didn't want them to think I murdered someone)
- Wet wipes
- Multivitamin
- Protein powder
- Alcohol paper swabs in case
(these work wonders for nausea)
It was a lot of drainage days 1-2! My thighs especially seemed to be peeing nonstop. I wrapped diapers around my arms and thighs and that seemed to help save me from constantly changing my abd pads every 20 min. Also I cut out a little lipo foam and inserted into my faja's opening to my lady parts to keep it contained. My sister started laughing hysterically when I woke up because I was just in my Faja. I looked down .. and there my cupcake was being squeezed out of my sauasage suit, just chillin and saying hi to the world.
Things I prepared for when I get home:
- Antigravity chair with a hole cut out for my butt and lined with foam because I'm extra
- Beach chair that goes flat with face cut out so you don't have to lay your head to the side when you lay on your stomach
- Avocado floatie to sit in (bought on Amazon) which apparently has worked for a lot of ppl's bbl recoveries. It's also super cute and the nut in the middle comes out and works as a beach ball or as a small chair for your feet while your bum rests in the avocado part!
Also if anyone is in LA and would like to drive me to the beach or meet up, I'm here till Wednesday! Ok I'm tired, goodnight!

First of all....are you a comedian???

Hahah you're too kind. Im all about people having plastic surgery for self empowerment and to feel more confident. So if ppl think they really want to do it but are just too scared by the process, hopefully I can take some of the edge off by just walking people through it step by step and letting them know that not every BBL experience is worst-pain-of-your-life-painful. I also think Dass and his team have perfected their cocktail to help with the pain in recovery after doing this surgery this many years and I really appreciate the care I received! (... ok Dass team, feel free to offer me a discount on some extra thigh lipo now hahaha #freepromo)

Officially 1 wk out from my BBL! - I’ve got ABS?!

GlowUp2021
Today marks day 7 since my BBL and even though I’m not measuring it I can tell my butt has shrunk. I still love what I’m seeing though and I’m shrinking proportionately.
Also, I couldn’t really appreciate this after surgery since I was so swollen, but now that my stomach has settled down a bit I can see abs coming through! Thank you Dr Dass!!!! He might not have given me the thigh gap I wanted but this makes up for it haha. Before surgery I had stopped working out for 8 months and had purposefully put on 10 pounds because I wanted to for this surgery and my busy schedule made it easy.
Most of my bruising is gone and I’m feeling pretty great. Half of my 10 incision sites are closed, while the other half are still pretty open and raw. Off the narcs and the only thing still bothering me still is sleeping on my stomach… : /

Yasss for baby abs! Lol you look amazing! I'm a week and a day out!
June 2, 2021
Thanks girl! I just hope my butt doesn't shrink significantly more hahah I really wish he had been more aggressive on my inner thighs but I know if you take out too much it can look awkward too. Sundresses in the summer though are so rough for me! How was your arm/thigh lipo? Did you notice much difference?
June 2, 2021
I know I'm hoping that too! He only added 2 inches to my butt/hips but it does look fuller all around! Hopefully we don't lose to much (fingers crossed) I didn't do thigh lipo but I did do the arms and from the side they do look smaller, I'm a small girl and had bigger arm so it definitely made a difference I'm excited to wear tanks again once I'm healed and all kinds of cute clothes lol and my arms kinda feel normal unless I touch them they feel a little sore. Your thighs look amazing I can't even tell you got lipo on them so that good do you notice a difference I didn't see before pics of you
June 3, 2021
Hahah my butt is shrinking fast!! :( and no I don't really see much of a difference in my thighs but I'm so glad that you're happy with your arms!!
June 2, 2021
Congrats, you looking amazing! One thing I've been concerned about was the scarring. I'm an older woman 59ish who got really sick & lost weight to fast so I am left with excess skin & problems medically speaking. Thank you for sharing your journey with us. You had a body lift so where are the incisions located & what about scarring? My medical condition is under control. Thank you for taking time to respond to me.
June 3, 2021
They had liposuction and then a fat transfer to the buttocks, which is called Brazilian butt lift. It is not an actual body lift, but you might want to look into extended tummy tuck and mid back lift. Those procedures remove excess skin.
June 3, 2021
I was concerned about scarring too because I scar easily but I honestly can't comment on how they'll heal up since they're still pretty fresh. I did lipo and on arms and thighs as well. There's 11 total - 2 in my upper back, 2 above my butt, 2 above my pubic area, one on each elbow, one on each inner thigh, and one through the belly button you can't see
June 3, 2021
Hello do you have before pics? I am also looking at dr dass! Where did he take fat from?
June 3, 2021
I don't have before pics from the office, but I can post some personal before pics later. He took fat from belly, back, inner thighs, upper arms
