4 days post!
Hi ladies! So let me begging by saying that I absolutely love Dr. B and can't say enough about his bedside manners. So.. yeaaaaahhhh about recovery... it's been rough! I have not regretted the procedure at all because I wanted this, but it's definitely been more than I expected. The masseuse in Blinski's office is absolutely incredible ???? Hands of a goddess. I'll post more updates and pics when I'm up for it. Still feeling weak here and there.. xo!

10 Days out!!!!
I'm 10 days out from surgery and I'm SO excited but so so so so nervous as well!
On Thursday I had my pre-op appointment where I had my labs done and I picked all my meds & we also took my before pictures.
On Friday I waited too long to call the office and they were gone before I was able to get my lab results. However, I called the lab themselves and I was able to get my results. Sooooo.... hemo is 13.5 (thank God) but something else came back a little high.. since it was Friday and I knew the office won't be back till Monday I was not about to go through the weekend without knowing wether I was clear for surgery or not (also had to finish paying recovery house).. so I took it upon myself to e-mail my doc directly (wasn't expecting a prompt response) I mean, it was Friday at 3PM-- within an hour I had a response from my doc saying "LABS ARE PERFECT" ????????
Dr. B is so attentive, you can tell that safety is his #1 concern.. I know I'll be in good hands while under his care.

What was it that Dr Belinski stressed with you that made you feel safe? I've been to one consult but I'm just curious if the safety measures are similar amongst most well-known BBL surgeons? Any insight would be appreciated!

To begin, the hemo requirements and bmi vary between doctors (even though they have rule of thumbs to follow). Obviously the higher your BMI the more prone to complications you are.. Dr Blinski was very clear when he explained I am to maintain my weight, he will not operate on me if I weigh more than 180. He spoke to me about my smoking habits (I quit smoking :( it's been terrible but I want this surgery more than a cigarette). And also the his knowledge... I forgot what I asked him exactly but he knew his medical statute off the top of his head and answered (ex. It's agains 83784.56 to do that). LOL as silly as it sounds I was impressed!

No that absolutely makes sense. I would have felt the same way. Did he tell ylu you needed to quit smoking immediately or just a certain amount of time prior to your procedure? And did you talk about fat embolisms at all? Haha. Sorry im being a super needy commentor!

Lol no worries! He said to quit smoking (even secondhand smoke) a minimum of a month prior to Sx. In regards to the embolisms: he instructs his patients to take baby aspirin 4 days AFTER surgery. Blood thinners are not good prior to surgery considering the blood loss you'll experience already due to the surgery.. he also encourages movement (walking) after the first 24 hours. The more you can move around, the better for your body, blood flow & for your recovery.
