Hi all, som I had my first smoothbeam treatment last week and would like to share my experience with you.
I have very oily skin with large pores and breakouts. Beside this I have very sesnsitive relief with mild rosacea and time to time also seborhoic dermatitis...joy...
I have tried many treatments and cosmetic procedures without any good result...three months ago I have finished my 4th Nlite laser treatmemt..When I was getting it regulary my skin was quite fine..once I stoped ( after four recommended treatments) my troubles were back..waste of money...
I was reading many discussions about smoothbeam laser and after consultation with my doc I decided to go for it.
The main difference between Nlite and Smoothbeam is that Nlite is just killing bacteria on skin surface which are causing breakouts. Smoothbeam is shrinking the seb. glands which results in decrease of oil outcome - main cause of acne. To be honest I do not understand comments about intensive pain during the procedure as I did feel just a mild itching...Yes I have increased redness right after , but this is pretty normal for all laser treatments. Next day the redness resolved but started to get a lot of breakouts which I did not have before...it was like a nightmare and I was really scared why this is happening... it was getting worse..I decided to call the doctor and ask for advise if I should continue with smoothbeam or better not. She adviced that breakouts are a good sign as smoothbeam works like roaccutan. It is pulling the breakouts from the deep layer of the skin beside the seb. glands are shrinking..This clearing process is a good sign. It should not take longer than 10 day but I already started to see improvement and it s been just one week. Very important thing is not to irritate the skin with agresive anti acne creams ( this was my very first idea when I started having breakouts)..Use only sensitive face cleansing gel ( clean ac from avene + avene thermal wather) and calming fluid ( sensibio light) and to minimize the bigest pimples I used the madarin paste from mattis purete reposne. The doctor told me that many people are not correctly informed about what to expect after smoothbeam and after they get breakouts they do not want to continue the treatments which is wrong..if you have more serious cystic acne the breakouts after the smoothbeam could last even longer as the clearing process is more complex. Just do not get depressed and be patient..that is my personal advise :)..
So good luck to all and keep posting your experience on this kind of treatment,
R

Thanks so much for sharing your experience! I have acne problems similar to yours and am debating about this treatment, and hearing your story is very helpful. Now that it's been a few months after your treatment, have the results continued or has your acne come back? Do you still feel that it was worth it?
