After years of wanting to get a tummy tuck I finally did it! I have had 3 kids who are all in their teens now. In the past I have lost weight, worked out, watched what I ate but nothing would get rid of the lower pouch. Getting a tummy tuck is tough. I'm not going to lie. There have been several days when I questioned my choice of having one done. Many days of crying because I just want to feel normal again. I had a little set back in my healing which postponed my progress, but I'm doing much better now. However, after all that, I can honestly say that it's worth it. The pouch is gone. The swelling is slowly going away and I'm starting to see the hourglass figure. I have a sexy belly button, and a sexy , fuller, more rounded booty. I'm starting to feel normal again. Of course there is still the tightness and stretching feeling in my stomach...and the internal itching that you can't quite get to in order to relieve it. But feeling more normal than the past 5 weeks. Definitely worth it. Just know it will be hard, but it will definitely be worth it. Give yourself plenty of time to heal. Boobs are next! Scheduled for Sept 21st. Dr said it would've been too much to do at one time. So the boobs had to wait.

Congratulations on your results.   This is definitely a tough recovery process but you will get through it.  It took my body a total of 7 months to rid itself of all the swelling.   Glad you are here with us and I look forward to seeing the boob journey as well.

Thank you! It's good to know it will take awhile for all the swelling to go away. I was just looking at myself this morning wondering if I was gaining weight or if I'm just a little extra swollen today. I have a lot of hard spots around the whole area. Did you have that too? Is that normal?

It will go down no worries.  You will have good days and not so good days.  It's all a big vicious circus for a little while.  Be very cautious with the diet and avoid processed and high sodium foods as well.  They are a killer on the swelling issue.  You need to start massaging the entire tummy and any areas that are hard.  Use a good organic, unrefined coconut oil.  It feels amazing and is so good on the skin.   Use 4 fingers and do a firm circular motion for 5-10 minutes at a time, 2 times a day.  This will help break up the bumps and get the fluids moving.  I does feel a little odd at first because of being numb, but this will also desensitize the areas.

Wow I’m surprised you were able to have the BBL at the same time as tummy tuck because other surgeons say it’s hard to recover. Can you tell us how you layed and sat to rest and sleep? Since you can’t lay on your stomach and not supposed to sit directly on your bottom after a BBL or the fat dies/desolves. I’d love to have mine done but worry about recovery

I basically slept sitting straight up. I had about 6 pillows behind me and had 2 pillows under my knees. He did the fat transfer (BBL) into the upper part of my bottom. I never really noticed much of a difference in my bottom until about a year after the surgery. That’s when it started looking more full and rounded instead of flat. The recovery in general is a hard recovery regardless if you do all of it at one time or not. I thought I might as well just get it done with. Good luck to you if you decide to get it one!

Things are getting somewhat better. Still a lot of swelling starting in the afternoon and into the evening. Not as achy. Still tight and some hard spots. My upper stomach seems to be getting a lot softer and kind of fluffy. Swelling ? Been massaging every night for 5-10 min. Not sure if it's helping. Still wearing my compression high waist 'granny' panties. Next week I get my BA & BL. Soooo excited!

Stitches

My body does not like these dissolvable stitches! Recovery is going well but long. I keep getting red spots that slightly open up to push out the stitches. Once the stitch gets pulled out it closes right up. So frustrating. 7 weeks post op you'd think I'd be a lot further along. Anyway, it's all good. Swelling is still there. Hard spots still there. Massaging every night. Compression 24/7 except for shower.
