WORTH IT
Getting my braces put in took about an hour and really wasn't a painful process. I just had to get used to these lovely things in my mouth and I had to learn how to eat again it has been a slow process but at the end of this month. I have been able to eat most of my favorite foods but I have avoided steaks candy and anything overly crunchy. I have had my braces in for a month Something I always wanted to have done. Finally a dream come true, I am 35 years old and I have six month Smiles can't wait to see the end result!

Your progress looks great. I'm 7 months along now, and my bite is all messed up. I didn't have majorly crooked teeth. I'm a little disappointed as it is right now, to say the least.

Thank you I just went in for my second adjustment and I will post the update for that soon. And I really don't know see much improvement, but my mom tells me that you can really tell a difference. How long did it take did the doctor say that it will take for you to get your desired results?

My doc told me up front 6 months of treatment easy. I went in with decent teeth just needed to move a total of 6 specific teeth. My bite is totally messed up now and I had no bite issues prior. I was worried 10 weeks into treatment but they told me it was too early to worry. That it will work out. Now here I am at 7 months. I’ve been going in to update my teeth every two weeks for over a month now. His confidence drops every visit that I will get my final look.

I'm sorry to hear that you are having this experience with your dentist. It's a shame that he doesn't have a plan on how he will fix this. Is he the only Dr at the office? First time doing 6month smiles?

I just saw an ortho today and I got some good news and bad news. Except mostly good news. The Six Months Smiles treatment did it's job, unfortunately, it uncovered hidden problems in my alignment and bite I did not know was there before (nor did my dentist mention them before putting on my braces.) I'm getting ready to do an update to my Real Self progress. But I have pretty much ran my course in my treatment and I'm now hoping to get them removed soon.

Month 2

Okay, I just went in for my 1st month adjustment. There was lots of filing between the teeth to make space for movement. It wasn't too bad I took about an hour. I have elastics that I have to wear on one side due to a cross-bite. I thought I would not have to wear them after getting this adjustment, but I have to wear them a little longer. I asked for the little twist ties to be tightened differently so it won't prick the inside of my lip as much.

Second adjustment

Today I went in for my second adjustment. One of my bracket's bracket's popped out. That was only because when she was unraveling the twist ties it popped, but she fixed it easily. I really like the way that my twist ties are fixed on my front tooth time. It is barely noticeable. I probably won't have to use as much wax as I have on that tooth. Wax is a lifesaver! I have wax all through the house. Everything went smooth, only minimal filing this time. Next month I will be getting stronger wires and I will have passed the beginner wire stage, oh my I can't wait. I was already informed that I will be sore. I will only hope for the best and enjoy this last month of the beginner wires. I still have to wear my elastics, I'm kind of used to putting them on now, but I will be glad when I don't have to do it anymore. I don't have any twist ties on my bottom teeth anymore, so that's a good thing.
