Well, I'm a month and a week since explant and lift surgery and doing well. I'm healing more slowly than I would like, (still have scabbing) but the swelling has decreased dramatically and I am completely pain free. I'm even able to pick up my 15 month old granddaughter with ease!

I always worry that my pics will scare off women who are considering surgery, (the pics always seem to emphasize the wounds) and look so gross, but I appreciated so much the candor and honesty of the women who shared and helped me, so I'll post despite my concerns. One really positive thing is that I have absolutely regained, (if not increased) areola sensitivity and this was a great relief for me. For those ladies who have naturally small busts, you may not be aware how lucky you are. Most naturally big busted women have limited sensation, and after breast feeding four babies, mine were all but completely without sensation. Unexpected bonus!

I continue to be so thrilled with my decision to have the implants removed, and feel so relieved every day to have myself back. So if you are just now seeing my pics, try not to be too alarmed, it's all been worth it and then some!

Wow I'm sooo thrilled for you!, you look gorgeous! Lucky! :) And I'm impressed how your body's recovered, those prior pics were making me cringe for you! [RS bleep] And great you've some sensation back! I didn't know that! I did lose half mine when I got implants tho, so wondering if it'll come back?!... Seem pretty good so far, at least haven't lost more aye! ;) I'm so happy for you, yes 99% of us love being back in our own skin and losing the toxic bags aye, great review you've written n photos you've shared, thanks! :) [RS bleep]

Thank you so much for your review!!! I'm definitely explanting and trying to decide whether to lift now or later. You are healing so well and I appreciate all of your comments and photos so much!!! Wow and added sensation?!?! How awesome! I hope that happens for me as well!!! Xoxo

You look great! I really appreciate your review because my situation is similar. I've had mine 19 years (saline, under the muscle), and went from a 34 B to 34 DD. What size were you before implants? I am expecting to need a lift as well. Your lovely result gives me great hope, even if healing isn't going as quickly as you'd like. You will get there! I'm happy for you, keep us posted. :-)

I was a 36C and had hoped I would return to that size, but so far I'm still fitting into my old DD bras so will probably will not happen. Im ok with it tho, I am just so so happy to have them out! Good luck on your explant and take good care!

You are healing really well! It is great that you posted pictures, it really helps others to see what a normal healthy healing process can look like. I had nipple sensation immediately but one of my nipples doesn't respond to warm by expanding. So if it is cold my nipples look the same size - if is hot one expands and the other stays 'shrivelled' and small. Hoping this will sort itself out as my healing progress!

Looking good. Not to worry I too had scary looking scars when I had a lift done years ago. My sister used to call me frankenboobs haha its a slow process but definately improve and whiten out with time. x
April 28, 2016
Haha, oh you gotta love those sisters! I truly do have frankenboobs, (going to have to use that! ). Thanks for the encouragement!

Post Op - Day 19

GettingReal4Good
Bruising and scabbing is still prominent, but no pain at all. The swelling has decreased, and my ability to sleep has dramatically improved. For whatever reason the pics make the incisions look so much scarier than they are in person. Still super happy with my decision to get implants out, tho I do wish the results were smaller. My PS said size will not be definite until 3 months post op, but I don't see them decreasing much as this is the size I was before the implants. Oh well, perfection is not a requirement for me to be so very grateful for a successful surgery and a healthy body!

They look symmetrical and great! Definitely a success and you're so right about the importance of having a healthy body.

That's exactly what I'm focusing on too, (have to look beyond the wounds). Thank you for the support, it really helps so much.

It took ages for me to heal after lift and for all the swelling to go down. My scars looked pretty scary but it all gets sorted in the end but you already know this as is round two for you. I agree I decided when I got the explant done that I would have to live with whatever results I got as have put my boobs through enough. I am just so happy as I never thought they would retract this much after going down 2 cup sizes but am shocked that are still pretty big even having previously gone through a lift. You look great and its still early days. [RS bleep]

You look great and your breast shape is enviable! Is your current PS the same one that did your mastopexy? We are about the same age and I will likely need a lift after explanting. Thanks in advance for any details you can give me!
April 11, 2016
Hi, sorry for the delayed response. My PS is the same one that did the mastopexy. I see that a lot of women choose to wait for the lift to see how their bodies handle the removal, but there really wasnt an option for me because I was sooo saggy already. Its meant a slower recovery, but I am really glad I had both procedures done at the same time. Good luck to you on whatever route you choose, either way its a path to a healthier body!

What a huge improvement! So relieved for you as they looked soo sore I cringed for you!.. You're looking wonderful!, look at all your Breast tissue you lucky lady! ;) [RS bleep] keep taking care! Xxxx
April 12, 2016
Congratulations, you look wonderful!! I'm 8 days post with removal & lift & I'm sooooo glad I went ahead with the lift. I don't have near the breast tissue you have and will probably end up a full A cup but I love the shape and symmetry and that's what's important right? Happy healing to you :)

I'm 54 years old and had my saline implants placed under the muscle in 1999, and now getting consultations to get them removed and lifted. Was a capsulectomy performed by your PS? Yours came out so amazingly well, and I would love the same results. I, too, have large breasts with loose skin and had the implants originally placed periareola. I live in Colorado Springs so Boulder is not too far for me to travel.
April 12, 2016
Hi! I had saline implants as well and capsulectomy was not required. I cannot say enough how awesome my PS is, (he was recommended by my Obgyn years ago who told me that if she ever had work done, she would go to Dr. Kuisle, and his reputation has only gotten better thru the years. The only hassle for you would be the weekly checks after the surgery, but maybe something could be worked out. Whatever you choose, I wish you the best!
April 12, 2016
Thank you for the response to my reply and question about capsulectomies. I'm okay w weekly checks--my daughter is in Denver and I drive there almost weekly anyway. Best to you:)
