Horrible Experience

Horrible experience. This is the first negative review I’ve ever written as I am not one to ever want to say anything hurtful towards anyone, however I don’t want someone else to have the same experience I had. I had gone twice to inquire about getting rid of the dimples in my chin. I was told both times that receiving a little Botox would do the trick. Never was I told that there would be the risk my smile would be crooked if it didn’t go right. After going to get a second opinion “waiting the two weeks to see if it would settle” per the lady who had did this, I was told the wrong muscle had been injected. It was something she told me she had never seen in her 30 year experience. I was advised to just leave I alone and “hope that it relaxed before my wedding day” (6 weeks away). I decided to go back to the woman who did this at Calobrace to show her what she had done and to see if there was anything further to correct it who again told me “she would just leave it alone and see if it relaxed by my wedding day”. I understand we are all human and make mistakes and am not upset with the fact the wrong muscle was injected, however more so am upset that the risks of having this procedure were never explained to me the two times I had a consult with her. I would have never done this right before my wedding had I known this was a possibility. Now I am left to anxiously wait and see if my smile will be back to normal by wedding day. I had a cosmetic surgical experience here in the past and had a great experience, however after this I will never be back. I was not offered my money back and was instead again told “I would just leave it alone” after it was no fault of my own. I am highly disappointed and upset and hope someone doesn’t have the same experience I did.

I’m sorry this happened to you. Your doctor is very lucky you are an understanding patient.

My injector, who is amazing and who I’ve been seeing for a decade, has told me there are products to reverse fillers and Botox. So you might look into it ASAP, even if you go elsewhere.

However, your lesson is sad but important-nobody should do anything new close to a very important event, like a wedding. While the Botox will fade, the average length is 3-4 months, so in cases like this people shouldn’t take chances. And this should be a warning to anybody-an appointment before a wedding should be your second or third one, to know what to expect. Of course, that doesn’t apply to you, in your case it was an accident but frankly, injecting into the wrong muscle seems like inexperience to me, o matter what they said about 30 years, blah blah. This, of course, is NOT your fault-the fact that nobody is trying to do more for you, or even refund your money, is inexcusable. This is a medical error. Not serious or harmful, but you certainly deserve your money back.

In my experience, Botox wears off in 3 months or less. I get it done every three but it’s usually worn off by then. I have only done it in my forehead so it may wear off faster in mouth/chin area. In me. It has softened but not disappeared in six weeks although I’ve been getting it for 20 years so it doesn’t last as long with me as with others.

I hope that whatever they did, it’s softened up by your wedding. I bet you’ll be a beautiful bride either way, and to me your smile looks cute in the photo so it’s probably not as noticeable to others as it is to you. Happiness will shine through your eyes.

All that said, call and get your money they admitted to an error, why should YOU pay? Have a few extra drinks on your honeymoon, and congratulations.

Im sorry that happened to you. Certainly, you should get your money back b/c this is NOT what you paid for!! However, you will still look beautiful on your wedding day. You still have a pretty smile.

How disappointing. I'm glad it's temporary but it is sad it's right before your wedding. I did botox around my mouth once and it messed up my smile. Never again.

The same thing has happened to me , I am due to marry also . I feel the most unfair fact about all of this is you don’t get your money back . You are just not only looking awful , you are left poor in pocket . These practitioners do not listen .
