Life Changing for a Gummy Smile and Thin Upper Lip!
I have always been self conscious about the size of my upper lip and the way it curls inwards when I smile. The gums above my eye teeth also did not recede properly so when I do smile it looks a little gummy.
I researched getting gum reduction surgery but it was costly and the oral surgeon told me it most likely wouldn't give me the results I desired. I was too nervous to get any lip injections but I was told by my provider that I am a perfect candidate for a lip flip. Boy was she right! I am so beyond over the moon happy with how my lip flip turned out. It's EXACTLY what I wanted and it changed my smile so drastically!
We started out with only 4 units (2 on each side on the upper lip) with the possibility of going to 6 in the future to see how it affected me. There is a very small sting with the injection and thats it. I do have to say that for a few days it is near impossible to purse your lips and drink from a straw/can or swish water in your mouth without drooling. It's pretty bad but it is tolerable as long as you're aware. I also sing and it did have an affect on the way I pronounced "O's." This is something to keep in mind.
The worst part about the lip flip is that it really doesn't last that long because of the small amount of botox used and how often you use your mouth muscles. The effect was totally gone at 2 months. It is very affordable though and for me completely worth it.
