Botched Tummy Tuck - some areas that was hard from the swelling is now flabby and loose
ORIGINAL POST
Botched Tummy Tuck
Just had a TT done a month ago and I know I have some swelling still but something just is not right. After I got out of surgery i was standing straight no pain on my incision area just soreness from lipo. I noticed on day 3 that my skin was not tight at all and I didn’t have a new belly button. I asked the dr how much excess skin was removed and he said “16inches across and 1inch in width” i asked why he couldnt cut more and he said because my fat tissue was too close to my visceral fat tissue. He also told me if he were to cut more excess skin I would be walking hunched over which I thought was the strangest thing ever because thats normal after getting a TT. He told me to give it time so all the swelling can go down etc and my tummy will be flat. Its been a month now and some areas that was hard from the swelling is now flabby and loose. My belly button was once round is now a slit. I noticed one side of my waist was more dipped then the other. The Dr pretty much blamed me and said my body was asymmetric and that i never realized it because of all the fat I had! Ive been alot smaller than my current weight now and have never had a dip. My vag also had a bulge and he said he would do some lipo and ended up telling me after the procedure he didn’t do it because its a
sensitive area. This dr literally had an excuse for everything he did wrong. I told the doctor there is a difference but this was not what I was expecting at all. When i sit down I have pouch, when i bend forward theres hanging skin and of course i know that all my stretch marks cant be removed and i was okay with that but because the dr didnt cut much skin or pulled tight enough the stretch marks are all shriveled up and when i pointed it out he said its normal. Its so depressing as I waited for years before getting this done only to be disappointed to the point I feel even more insecure than I did before. I have friends that have had TT and the first thing they said was “he didn’t take off enough” or “your skin is not tight at all.” Others have said it looks like only lipo was done and to be honest if i didn’t have a incision scar I would believe it. I’ve literally been trying my best to just trust the process but every time i look at my stomach I know no matter what it will never be flat or tight unless i get a revision done. Grateful for your thoughts on this.
My husband also mentioned to me that after my surgery they brought me in the recovery room and put me on a bed with blood stains on the sheet. When my husband pointed it out they didn’t even bother to change it. My husband said i was not bleeding or leaking when i got back to the recovery room so the stains were def not from me. He also mentioned that he understood that i would go home the same day of the procedure but he said he was in shock that by the time i got to the recovery room until I left was less than 30mins. He said the nurses kept coming in trying to wake me up like i was keeping them from getting off work early. Idk if this is normal but i thought i would at least get like a hr to wake up and gather myself.

I had a full tummy tuck and breast lift/reduction by half in May of 2021. That left me with botched scars from an infected incision and more importantly a THREE INCH dog ear on each hip. Think of a nice hourglass shape, then add three inches of fat poking out just on the sides at the hips. other than the dog ears, I was pleased. (He didn't let me get lipo during procedure bc he wanted me to come back to get lipo and implants after I was healed. I.e.: he wanted more money from me)
A little over a year post op, I spoke to a surgeon local to me and he was so amazing. He made me feel confident that I was not imagining things, that the doctor should have lipoed those dog ears before stitching me up to prevent them. He charged me next to nothing to do in office lipo on that area to smooth things out. It looked so much better, but still there was leftover skin. I went for a follow up. This surgeon said "let set up an appointment to finish this up for you. You deserve better than this"
He numbed me and took the excess skin off in the office, free of charge. He truly wanted to help me.
There ARE good doctors out there who will do you right.
Go find a better one and get fixed up.
