Botched Liposuction Revision and Mini TT

This journey started when I made a huge mistake by going to Dr. P.l.a.z.a.s in Colombia for lipo/bbl. The experience was horrible. They gave me tylenol for pain- I was in excruciating pain for weeks. At first it I was very happy with the shape, but as months went by and the swelling went down, I was left with horrific and disfiguring fibrosis, lumps, unevenness, and loose skin. He had sucked every molecule of fat from my stomach. I looked like Tara Reid after her botched lipo but 100x worse. Not to mention the lipo burn on my side that left a permanent scar. I felt hopeless- there was no way I could wear a crop top or bikini ever again. I was determined to find someone who could give me some improvement. I consulted with 3 different plastic surgeons, two of which turned me down and one which gasped when he saw my stomach and flippantly said he could do a tummy tuck. I continued to research and luckily found Dr. Hughes, who specializes in lipo revisions which are extremely difficult to perform. Few surgeons are willing to fix another surgeon's mistake. We started out with an email consult (I was an out of town patient) and we went back and forth. He even called me at one point to set my expectations. He essentially told me he was hoping to have a 50% improvement but that he was confident he would have the best chance at improving the look of my stomach. I went on his website countless times and saw all the revisions he did which convinced me he was the one. As others have said this is not a luxury plastic surgery experience; if you want an instagram famous surgeon he's not for you. If you want an incredibly talented and focused surgeon then he's the one. On the day of surgery one of the OR nurses didn't show up and I was starting to feel nervous it wouldn't happen, but luckily they found someone and before I knew it I was getting prepped in the OR. He ended up removing the scar tissue and removing the loose skin (mini tummy tuck, I have had 2 children) This recovery was completely different from the experience I had in Colombia. I was given pain meds appropriately and had no pain during my recovery. I did have a drain in which helped get rid of the fluid. I compressed for 6 weeks as directed. My scar is nice and light except for the side where the drain was, but I believe that will improve as well. He gave me at least 80% improvement and I am so happy with my results. I do feel I can wear a bikini or short top again if I want. He really changed my life and helped reverse a botched plastic surgery. Please take this as a warning to be very very careful which surgeon you choose for such an important procedure.
